First Camping Trip
My dad told us to pack warm clothes in our suitcase case. We all asked why he said we're going camping with your aunts and uncles for the weekend in spanish . We were all excited, but I was nervous because it was my first time I have ever slept in a tent . We left my house at 4:00. The drive was about 4 hours away from my house the traffic was bearable . Where I sat in the Tahoe was in the back you would think the I have all the space I needed but I literally was squashed with all the stuff we brought and the suitcases were on the top if the car.
When we got near the lake the first part to get there was a left edge we can fall off at any moment, there was a sign before we entered it had how many deaths happened. I was so nervous and scared. All my sisters including my mom told my dad to go very slow ,so he did (thank the lord). After that we got to the lake but we were going to camp very close to the lake so we had to drive all over rocks the drive was there bumpy. We all got off the car,

As the sun started to set we put the chairs in our cars and started to drive to the road but I didn't want to drive up those rocks and stuff but i had to go in the car before we left the site we went to the restroom . I got very nervous as we got near the cliff but my dad went slow so thankfully we didn't fall over. As we drove on the road we went to a gas station and we got hot chocolate. It was getting very dark and we had school the next day so I decided it was best to go to sleep but I haven't finished my hot chocolate and I didn't have anywhere to put it so I grabbed it. My decision was terrible because I woke up with wet back and I immediately cleaned it up because my dad would have gotten mad at me. We go home around midnight and we all raced to the bathroom so we can take a shower. That day was the first time I was glad to
Imagine the biggest deer of our life walking in front of us. The thing is so big that at first glance you didn’t even think it was a deer. That is what the Zellmer deer camp is all about. The deer camp was started seven and a half decades ago by my grandfather’s grandfather.
“Come on, “ my counselor Emily screamed from shore. The quick rapids made it very difficult to dig our paddles into the river. My cabin was stopping to eat lunch on our Tuesday canoeing trip. On Saturday, we had traveled down to Brownstown, Indiana for a week full of friends, fun, and God. My church stayed at a retreat center called Pyoca. Every year on Tuesday, we would go on a canoeing or rafting trip depending on the water levels. Emily, Annabelle, my canoeing partner, and I sat along the sand bank waiting for other canoes to come in. Many other groups slowly went by, while we patiently waited for other groups to come in. I was so hungry, I couldn’t wait. Canoeing had zapped all of my energy, and had made me really hungry. I began to quickly wade out into the river, so I could help the other canoes come in faster. Someone screamed, “Be careful” from the bank. Nate Epple, a counselor of
We went to New Mexico for a week to build a playground. The trip was long and hot but it was worth it. The playground was going to be built at a Manuelito Najavo Childrens Home in Gallup, New Mexico. In the middle of their dorms. We arrived at a cottage and starting unpacking, choosing rooms, and all that. Dinner came, we all took showers and went to bed.
After we relaxed for a long time, it was time for me to go and wash off all of the seaweed my hair had collected. I turn on the shower and there is a huge spider waiting for me just sitting there waiting for me. I killed it and then resumed my shower. After I got out and we were all ready leave we didn’t know where to go. Until my sister saw a commercial for this really cool place with alligators and a Ferris wheel, we decided to go there. As we pulled up to the place we noticed that there was an amazing Ferris wheel and I immediately got really excited. But my parents said that I have to wait until after dinner. So we went and ate our amazing dinner and it was so amazing. I ordered the best lobster and crab, it was so
I'm Jeffery the oxe and I recently completed the Oregon trail. In the beginning we started in Saint Louis, Missouri. We were waiting on the field for my food to grow, then I would be free fed.
Years ago my family took a trip to Yellowstone National Park. I chose this common experience for this memory assignment. First, I made a list of all the things I remembered from my trip at Yellowstone. I remembered we traveled in our motorhome and got halfway to our destination and parked on the side of the road and slept there for the night. I remember seeing the famous geyser; Old Faithful, in addition to seeing lots of bison, and bears. I recall one night that we stayed in a campground bears were in the campground and we were being told to stay in our campers. I also remember during the trip my dad would give me all the spare change and I would collect it. I saved the change up to buy souvenirs or candy. I also remember going to a shirt

I almost fell off a cliff on the side of a mountain. I was in Pitkin, Colorado, on a camping trip during the summer of 2009. The trees were green, the air was fresh so were the lakes, rivers, and ponds were stocked with fish and wildlife was everywhere. Usually, on these camping trips, I would be accompanied by a large number of people. However, this time, it was just my parents, my three brothers, and my two sisters. I was almost 12 years old at the time and having three older brothers made me very competitive. Naturally, when my family decided to climb one of the mountain’s which were around us, I wanted to be the first one to reach its peak.
"Hey, be careful and don't do anything stupid," my dad said to me right before I hopped into Chase Miller's dark blue Chevy S-10 with a camper shell on the back. I looked at Chase and Tyler Becker and said, "Let's go camping." As Chase pushed down the gas pedal, a big cloud of black smoke shot out of the back of the truck and the smell of burning motor oil filled the cab.
I’m on a muddy, yellow bus coming back from camp. I'm twelve and so are you. Prior to leaving for camp, I had imagined it would be just me and three, maybe four, other boys that I hadn't met yet, running around all summer, getting ourselves into trouble. Playing games and just enjoying our summer. You know, typical boy stuff. Ultimately it ended up being me and this one girl. That's you. As long as we are still on the bus its like we are still at camp. Once we reach the pickup point where our parents would be waiting for us camp will be over.
I awoke to the sun piercing through the screen of my tent while stretching my arms out wide to nudge my friend Alicia to wake up. “Finally!” I said to Alicia, the countdown is over. As I unzip the screen door and we climb out of our tent, I’m embraced with the aroma of campfire burritos that Alicia’s mom Nancy was preparing for us on her humungous skillet. While we wait for our breakfast to be finished, me and Alicia, as we do every morning, head to the front convenient store for our morning french vanilla cappuccino. On our walk back to the campsite we always take a short stroll along the lake shore to admire the incandescent sun as it shines over the gleaming dark blue water. This has become a tradition that we do every
It was the day before we left our home to go to California. I was so excited for our time to spend some out of the house and go to another state. However, before we went to bed, we had to pack a few things. I packed my toothbrush and toothpaste, brush, comb, hair spray, conditioner and shampoo, and clothes. We also packed some
there was no possible fishing hole in sight. All I could see was a river
I was so ecstatic to go on this field trip and so was everyone else. Of course I knew why, everyone loves field trips. Everyone that had seen the one man show reported that it was impeccable performance. Furthermore, I was adrenalized because I didn’t have to do any work. Before the show, all I thought was that it would be a normal bus ride. One that would be loud, but everyone minded their own business.
The distinct clicking of the American Flag as it is placed in its stands starts the chorus of young voices pledging their promise,“On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight”. These words come with a special power that guided and supported me in the toughest and in the best of times. The journey of a scout is one of commitment, good ethics and exemplary citizenship as one grows to become a trustworthy leader and a person of strong character. Not without any difficulties and roadblocks along the way, I am privileged, honored and proud to have taken the journey and ultimately reached my Eagle
