Narrator - A lover of make believe and over exaggeration; the narrator will describe Rogers, Arkansas as Allison’s perfect fantasy land. Allison Kirk - A sarcastic and witty 17-year-old, whose desire to work with disabled children, and to give back to American communities drives her to strive for goals of momentous significance. Cindy Kirk - Allison’s mother who supports her decision to attend Rogers New Tech, and encourages her to do something satisfying with her life. Her mother knows that Allison still has a lot of growing up to do, but is proud of the person Allison is becoming. Bud Kirk - Allison’s father who has insisted for years that she would teach children. He claims that her love for children is what will help her be successful in the classroom, both as a student and teacher. Isabella Martinez - Allison’s adorable four year old neighbor Isabella was born with Down Syndrome, and shortly after was diagnosed with leukemia. I believe that I can provide a better learning environment for these children. I want to create a place where they can come to learn, where they are not limited by their disability, and where the environment allows and encourages them to create friendships with their classmates. Special needs kids have unique capabilities that allow them to provide not only a unique view on life but also unique contributions to our community. I strongly believe that kids are the future of our community, and I want to be a part of encouraging them to create a positive place for them to raise the next generation of learners. It is the responsibility of those in the area to ensure that community is happy, supportive, and safe for its citizens.
