The leader that I chose to interview is my senior pastor at IPC Hebron, Shibu Mathew. His number is (405) 305-2958. I go to a Pentecostal church and although it is an international church where any race can come, it is a church with ninety-nine percent of its population as Indians. Therefore, half of the church service is spoken in Malayalam and the other half in English. Pastor Shibu is a designated leader since he was appointed by our church to become the pastor. He was living in Dallas, Texas before he came to Oklahoma and was a pastor in another church. After his contract was over, the church I go to now appointed him to be our pastor and he agreed. When I asked Pastor Shibu about the tips he had when working in groups, he mentioned that
I was very surprised at a few facets as I ventured my way through these job descriptions. One of the first things I noticed is how few full time positions there were on this list. I had always figured a church position would be a full time job because that is the kind of church I grew up in. However, to see that a worship pastor’s position was only a 10 hour a week commitment was quite surprising, but that makes sense in a smaller church. Thus, it has caused me to think about new opportunities for other part time work outside of the church. I suppose I’ve never really thought of a back up plan because I was so sure I would be in a full time pastor position.
In today’s society, Effective leaders are essential to an organization and exceptional leadership techniques impact the success of reaching goals. Most important leaders often viewed and analyzed as a key component of an organization improperly trained leader can cause both moral and costly negative consequences. Even though unprepared leaders lead in our community today, Billy Graham’s leadership style and communication skills affected the United States because he exhibits characteristic of a leader. There were several obstacles as a leader that Billy Graham endured as a visionary, and his leadership effectiveness and traits observed throughout his ministry.
“Smile, sunshine is good for your teeth,” my great grandfather said as I dragged myself into the wood paneled waiting room filled with outdated issues of Golf Digest and People Magazine. As I was steered down the hallway, my gums bled from brushing with the belief that I could rid potential cavities the day of my appointment. As I hopped into the familiar aqua blue dental chair, a sense of comfort was brought about me knowing I was at the hands of my grandfather. Throughout my childhood, I was a frequent guest to the same dental chair. I cried in the chair when I lost my front tooth, due to an opponent’s elbow playing basketball. I cursed the chair when I was told I needed braces. I think about the chair and my great grandfather, Dr. James

St. Philip’s Episcopal Church has not only been a source of faith, but an area that has given me the most satisfaction in my life. Becoming a Sunday School instructor, attending the “Safe Kids, Safe Church” Conference, and volunteering at events such as Souper Bowl Sunday and BLAST Biblical Learning Camp have all brought me immense happiness. It is with great pride that I am able to donate my time in an arena that has made such a significant contribution to my character.
Another important issue for pastors is “Risk Management,” which is the focus of chapter six. In this chapter, John McGovern, a Chartered Professional Accountant, proposes five guiding principals to help eliminate or minimize risks to parishes. First, he suggests that “good rules, polices, and structures make for good employees and volunteers within the parish.” Second, it is better to be proactive and to manage risks before they turn into crises.
You have been asked to present to an audience of your peers, a presentation outlining why your chosen Christian leader should be a House Patron. Your research needs to examine WHY this person is considered a Christian leader and HOW they demonstrated the Ignatian leadership qualities of:

This process is essential for RCM’s organizational navigation within the ministry. It presents cultural barriers as new knowledge to some, helps ideas emerge about what is leadership, and share that leading is often uncertain in various
I asked Pastor Mark how he maintain this in the face of the difficulties of ministry. Pastor Mark emphasized several things, but especially the importance of remember one’s called in ministry. God’s call placed upon the life of the pastor can help one remember who they are and whose they are. It keeps us from ever thinking that this is our ministry or our church exclusively and reminds us that we are in the hands of God. Pastoral leadership must be rooted in God’s call to ministry placed on the life of the minister.
Seyifa Jarso Community Organization Interview Community leadership is not just about taking the responsibility and guiding the community and the individuals on the right track. True leadership is understanding the needs of the community and individuals that you have the privilege to server. To be a great community leader you must sacrifice many important things in your life in order to achieve greatness for the community you love and care for. This requires dedication and ultimate efforts. For this assignment I had the honor and privilege to interview one of the community leader from the Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago, his name is Biniyam Beyene.
God is the focal point for spiritual gifts, talents, and training for leadership. The disciples were trained by Jesus. He did not take disciples into a classroom but He taught by examples.9 Many times the disciples were put in situations by Jesus to help them learn on-the-job. Even in missions, leaders cannot be prepared for every circumstance that may arise; however; with his talents, spiritual gifts, and the Holy Spirit, one can have the resources necessary to be successful. With one’s failures, spiritual gifts, and talents, the Holy Spirit will use these things to train leaders as they continue to aspire in
Christian Pastors are not granted the liberty of setting their own model for leadership. Throughout scripture God has laid down the criteria for those who will lead his people. The image which is often used is that of 'Shepherd Leadership`. Indeed, the word 'Pastor` derives from the Latin word which means 'To Shepherd.` Within this paradigm, Christian leadership remains distinct, and pastors who are called to lead the church fulfil a unique role.
Brian Dodd wrote the book Empowered Church Leadership Ministry in the Spirit According to Paul states, “What leaders need most are not new techniques but an awareness of the Spirit’s direction, the importance of prayer and the essentially team nature of effective ministry,” indicating leaders must work together. Often times, leaders may have the potential to operate without godly guidance, which is a danger in leadership. Furthermore, anyone who wants to find God’s path and direction knows the need for a reference point. Without God’s positioning, a leader might as well be without fixed reference point and without goals. As a matter of fact without the certainty of God provision, a leader cannot navigate a sure course of leadership. Leaders are in need of eternal reference points of God’s word and God’s will according to Dodd, this need has never been greater for church leadership. The question, then should be what is church in leadership? Church leadership is the builders of faith in God’s people. It is easy to see the church is certainly made for people; the people are not made for the church. The leadership can then, be effective in many ways when executed with right intentions and motives. Kouzes and Posner states there are five ways leaders’ can practices exemplary leadership. These ways include: (1) modeling the way, (2) inspire a shared vision (3) challenge the process (4) enable others to act, and (5) encourage the heart. The five practices of exemplary leadership are the core leadership competencies that emerged from our analysis of thousands of Personal-Best Leadership Experience cases. When leaders are doing their best, they model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and encourage the heart. In modeling the way, in leadership, deeds are far more important than their
Blackaby states “given the opportunity, people gravitate to what gives them meaning, to what engages to the fullest their commitment, talent, energy, and skill.” (2011. p. 13) For me, this opportunity is teaching. I am called to teach. Furthermore, there are several key spiritual leadership qualities found in Spiritual Leadership: Moving people on to God’s Agenda written by Henry and Richard Blackaby (2011) that are imperative to being an effective Christian leader that include being led by the Holy Spirit, allowing God to guide and teach me, using the life of Jesus as a leadership model, and leading by doing. As a Christian leader, I must avoid certain character traits in order to bring glory to God, which includes pride, anger, and spiritual apathy.
