Organizations today face countless potential challenges when developing a Leadership Development Plan (LDP). The Restoration Center Ministry is experiencing some challenges that include but is not limited to what a successful graduate looks like to the intended participants. This paper shares the importance of viability, which is crucial to leadership growth as well as necessary when creating mentoring programs in RCM. Furthermore, the RCM’s future is contingent upon resources to achieve its goal in the Orange Mound Community, core-strategies, and top level objectives that reflect participants' success when compared to the previous government only organizations. The board of directors will receive a draft of the training manual to ensure for approval. Proverbs 1:5 tells us, “A wise man will hear and will increase learning, and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.” (Proverbs 1:5, King James Version). After the board approval is obtained, the executive director will proceed with executing the plan. This process is essential for RCM’s organizational navigation within the ministry. The decision in a firm can be anything from the time to initiate a program; whether to partner with another organization or simply quit. In this Christian ministry, the author and team make faithful decisions, always striving to conform to God’s will. The Bible says, “ God is working in you” (Philippians 2:13) and that in “everything God works for the good of those who love him” (Romans 8:28). (Bible, New Century Version). The author with the help of the Holy Spirit will not fold but will fulfill the assignment of provided help to others. The belief of the founder of RCM mimics that of Roger Addison. Leadership at times can be a complex topic to delve into and may appear to be a simple and graspable concept for a certain few. The leadership is a privilege and it is such a privilege and an honor which will carry the tremendous responsibility which will inspire others to direct them to accomplish goals and vision of the organization. Leadership is about influencing the people, by producing direction, purpose and motivating in order to accomplish the mission, vision and improving the organization. The leadership philosophy is evolved based on the experiences, both positive and negative, in most of the initiatives and activities that we undertake. It is also one among the collaboration and teamwork within which the team members can utilize each other’s strengths to counter the weaknesses of the individuals. By observing, introspecting and experimenting we can developed a leadership paradigm which is inclusive, collaborative and proactive. We can develop the ability to recognize which will approach in order to reach the productive conclusion. The great leaders know their limitations and are capable at utilize their strengths and also the strengths of others to compensate.
The only way to develop the kind of leaders a changing organization needs is to make leadership a critical criterion for promotion, and then manage people’s careers to develop it.
