Personal Goals For College

I’ve always had the dream of snorkeling the waters of Australia, or roaming the mountains of Nepal. I want to experience what this world has to offer in terms of exotic locations. However, this requires deep pockets or a decrease in standards of living. So therefore I plan to make reasonable professional goals that can support my dreams. The first goal would have to be get an education that means something to me. Next is choose what career path is right for me. It would be a dream come true to stay in the Army and become a commissioned officer, but end game is to become a project manager in the video game industry. My first time when I went to college I was: undisciplined, unmotivated and most importantly there for the wrong reasons. I felt as though I needed to take a year break to figure out why I needed school. There was a lot of pressure from my friends and family to dive straight into school and continue my education. When I did well in school I was highly motivated to be in class and very much so a bright young student, but when it came time to seriously buckle down and study I just wasn’t there. I went in without solid achievable goals. So from the moment I started college I was doomed for failure. Luckily I have found my goals to travel are a better purpose to make success happen if you will. As for how I am as a learner, I tend to do well during visual presentations or given a problem and told to figure it out. Therefor math and science have always been easy for me to grasp while learning languages or even how to express myself through words has been difficult. Unfortunately, the only way I know how to get better is repeated use, and a strong support system to help tune my deficiencies.
