How willing am I to schedule my life to include time for study and preparation for class?
I am very dedicated to my school schedule and I have arranged my work, family and activities so they will not interfere with my time to study and prepare
for my classes. What will I say to myself that will help me persist and preserve when I feel overwhelmed by work, family and other responsibilities? When I feel overwhelmed by work I will tell myself to eliminate less of what is stressing me and change my focus so that I won’t be overwhelmed. I will distant myself from family or make sure not to let interruptions happen in my time to study or do my assignments. How have I prepared to begin my online degree? How have I prepared my family and others to support my journey toward this goal? Do I understand how online education works? Have I prepared my finances? Have I prepared my family? The things I have done to prepare my online degree is that I have made sure that I will have access to a computer that has internet. I discipline myself to do my homework assignments first and then arrange any other important events in my life around them. I have prepared my finances by working just weekends and I call during the week to work extra hours. This helps me to support myself and family while still pursing my degree. I have prepared my family and friends by communicating, we communicate well and support each other in goals we are trying to achieve.
When it comes to the topic of college, Martin Espada, the author of "Why I Went to College," argues that college is a must and that if you do not attend college there will be consequences. In comparison, David Leonhardt, author of "Is College Worth it? Clearly New Data Say," also argues that college is very important to get a higher paying job than those who do not attend college. In contrast, Leonhardt also argues that college may not be the best idea considering the substantial amount of debt provided with college. My own view is more with David Leonhardt because I understand both sides of attending or not attending college with the positives and the negatives of the dilemma. This discussion is important in our society today because we constantly push the idea of college on to kids that may not even be ready for college or the fact that the debt may not be worth it; also the rise in the wage gap between college students and non-college students.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." This is my all-time favorite quote. It is my motivation when the skies around me become cloudy. It is the fuel that feeds my ever-growing hunger to dance. Living by this motto will help me achieve my goal of becoming not just a professional dancer, but also an inspiration to others. My strong extracurricular background provides for a solid base, serving as a great steppingstone as I reach closer and closer to making my dream a reality.
I want to be a nurse, specifically a nurse practitioner. I have always been fascinated with the medical field and see a bright future in it for me. I have the opportunity of meeting new people every day with a variety of personalities. There is always something new to discover in this field. I am highly interested in pursuing the career of a nurse practitioner because the healthcare field is always in need for medical professionals, it pays well, and I am helping people at the same time.

It was very hard for me to start writing this paper. I was brainstorming with my husband over whom or what inspired me to attend college. I had lots of good ideas why or who helped me reach this point in my life. The morals I grew with, the current economy and the feeling that I had a point to prove was all just part of why choose to attend college.
