Take a look back at the person you were a year ago, do you believe that you are as good as you are today as you were back then? Think about that for a moment. Now; if you still have a similar mentality, same skills, knowledge, and point of view you did a year ago, you're not improving or growing as a person. When you don't improve your personal self; you are unable to offer the best 'YOU" that there is. Personal development isn't just a short process. It is a lifetime process; it's a technique for individuals to reflect on how they see themselves growing as a person; their characteristics and abilities. b) Having more compassion towards other individuals c) Becoming more efficient d) Figuring out to feel more confident e) Becoming more engaged and organised There are a number of barriers that prevent young adolescents developing personally; ¢ Self Confidence is a major one; the truth is we all get a little nervous at times which is a completely normal thing, however, what makes shyness such a bad thing is when you are no longer able to function properly because of it, losing every bit of self-confidence, making it hard to achieve your goals. ¢ By developing personal development there are a number of benefits of personal development; here are some of them; 1. Life purpose - It allows us to make sense of what we would like from life; to be able to establish our goals 2. Happiness - Once we better understand who we are, we can value ourselves more and find happiness within ourselves. 3. Opportunities - endless opportunities can arise when creating a better us, we begin to see our potential and when we endeavour to be better; we begin to move out of comfort zone and search opportunities that normally would scare us. 4. Resilience/ The ability to handle change - there is always going to be a problem that may occur, but we able to build skills and resilience to overcome the hurdles we faced.
