The reason for this is to ensure the inside is cooked, without us burning the outside on the cooktop. After 15 minutes, I grab my oven gloves, or a towel and tale the pan out of the oven, and on to the stove top. Turn the stove on to medium heat and then grab your tongs. The purpose for cooking it on the stove now is to give it a nice crust, while trapping the natural juices and oil in the middle of the meat. Cook the steak for 3 minutes on one side, then flip it using the tongs, and cook the other side for 2 minutes. When finished, I like to leave the steak to rest for a couple of minutes, meanwhile, grab a plate, and your fork and steak knife that you will be using. Then, place the steak on the plate, and bring to a table, and have a seat. When cutting the steak you want to make sure to make precise cuts going against the grain that way the steak stays in tact. Finally, the last but most anticipated step. Place that god given gift in your mouth, and enjoy every second of chewing with that suculant piece of deliciousness clinging to your taste

The art of roasting is a technique that has been used for centuries. Even back before modern cooking techniques, people roasted food over open fires. Today, roasting is achieved by enclosing the item in a dry, hot, smoky environment. Usually, large meat that could feed many is commonly roasted, whereas smaller foods, like portion sizes, are baked. Roasting is common when the chef seeks a classic, meaty flavor. To properly roast meat, one will need a roasting pan and a roasting rack. The key to roasting is making sure the whole piece of meat is exposed to the same temperature, and the proper amount of juices are saved for re-applying. Other things needed to successfully roast meat are thermometers, twine for tying, knives and carving tools, a saucepan, strainer, a ladle, and a brush to add baste.
I hear about climate change almost every day. I hear it in the classroom, on the television, and from friends. When discussing climate change it is easy to dwell on the negatives, but eventually you must move on to possible solutions. Everyone can do their part to mitigate their carbon footprint like riding their bike instead of driving their car, using a reusable water bottle rather than buying plastic water bottles, or turning the heat off in their house. One way that we can lower our carbon output that is not very well known is changing our eating habits. Red meat such as lamb and cattle are some of the biggest producers of carbon in the food industry. This is the reason that I have choose to give up red meat for the

Steak is a popular food in all western cultures, and it is also widely known in Asian cultures. However, cooking steak is not as easy as you think it is. It is usually stuffed with spices and fruits, slowly roasted on a bamboo spit for hours over a fire of open coals, basted regularly until the skin becomes crispy and reddish brown while the inside becomes tender and luscious. It is not so much the meat that everyone goes crazy for, it is actually the crispy skin (like
King Curtis from ABC TV series Wife Swap once said something that I related to like nothing ever before, “I really do like chicken nuggets. Chicken nuggets is like my family.” For as long as I can remember I have had a love for chicken nuggets. Whether it’s for a snack or for dinner, from Wendys, Mcdonalds, or Chick-fil-a; chicken nuggets are always my go-to. Chicken nuggets are so bad, but so, so delicious. With every bite, I fall more and more in love with the tiny, crispy little pieces of heaven. Chicken nuggets are my favorite food because of their luscious look, mouthwatering smell, and their scrumptious taste.
Dad has a knack for cooking at the shack as I do not recall one lousy meal I have eaten here. I step to the bedroom and take off the majority of my layers of clothing quickly so I can join the rest of the group. My dad serves me a plate and I start eating the tender meat as I sit down on the snug couch.
Depending on your preferences, the doneness of the meat can range from rare to well done. The meat will continue to cook slightly after it is removed from the fire, so set it aside to cool down a bit. When all the meat is cooked and removed from the grill, place the tortillas over the fire. This should be the last thing to go on the grill since it requires low heat. The tortillas will be left on the grill until they toast up into a nice brown appearance. Be sure not to leave the tortillas too long on the grill or they will burn. Now that all your food is ready, gather the family and set the table. The food can be served as desired; remember sides are optional or alternative sides can be used such as chips, rice, beans, or a potato salad.
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a chef. However, if one has a passion for cooking it will pay off. I am a creative person and cooking has endless possibilities of creativity, such as the way you make it and the way you plate it. I want to become a chef and hopefully open a restaurant one day. To do that, you need to learn the basic skills. Julia Child once said, “No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”
These cooking methods are known as stewing, braising and sous vide. All three of these methods calls for a low heat setting over a long period of time in order for the product to be cooked perfectly. They are especially great when it comes to cooking meat, helps even the toughest meat turn tender and juicy when cooked just right. When braising food, it is first cooked in dry heat by sautéing it or searing it to caramelize the outside or add a slight crust to it. Then liquid such as a stock is added inside the pan with the food still in it, it is then placed inside an oven or left on the stove top to continue to cook the interior until done. Stewing calls for the product to be fully immersed in a liquid. Sous vide is a method used when food needs to be cooked for a long period of time but at a low temperature. When using the sous vide technique the product needs to be placed into a sealed airtight special plastic pouch and then placed in a water bath that is at a precise
