The terrorist attack on the World Trade Center has long been described as an act of war and a tremendous defeat for the United States. The world watched in horror at the mass destruction happening in our country. Fourteen years later since that dreadful event, many people of Madera gathered around Friday – to share condolences to those who lost loved ones and friends. September 11th, otherwise known as Patriot Day, this day was designated in memory of the nearly three thousand who died. The town of Clovis hosted their 14th annual 9/11 memorial at Pelco by Schneider Electric. Hundreds were in attendance to pay their respects, including former FDNY firefighter Andy Isolano. Also in attendance – members of the Combined Command Military Honor Guard, as well as Clovis first responders. The ceremony took a brief moment of silence for those lives lost. Other activities included a 21 gun salute, and a heartfelt rendition of "Amazing Grace". "The morning of 9/11 changed my life forever. I lost 13 close friends, and 343 fellow firefighters." Isolano said, giving a heartfelt speech to the crowd. "Our lives were changed forever by the devastating events of September 11th." Herve Fages, Pelco by Schneider Electric Senior Vice President said a few touching words, "I speak for not only Pelco and the Central Valley. For the entire nation when …show more content…
I say the first responders and fallen heroes of September 11 will always be in our hearts." "Their actions, strength, courage, compassion and patriotism have inspired our nation, and the entire world." Natalie Rangel, 25, recalls that faithful day as "the day where all time stopped." What started out as a normal day, quickly turned into one filled with confusion and panic.
"I was in school at the time, just as millions of other kids across the U.S. were doing. Fifth grade, to be exact. Everything was normal – played on the playground, went to class. It wasn't until my teacher gathered all of my classmates and I up. Leading the entire class straight into this empty classroom where another was circled around the room. They brought in a TV right in front of us, and showed us what was happening in New York. I couldn't
understand." "What this day means to me – it taught me to be strong. I want to say it taught everyone to appreciate life, to cherish those around you. You never know what day could be their last." "To me, 9/11 means reflecting on what was lost. Remembering those innocent lives taken, and the brave souls who risked their lives. We cannot take our loved ones for granted, that's what I believe." says one attendee, who prefers to remain anonymous.
A time to remember those who died, those who served, and those who carry on.” ~Unknown. Servicemen make sacrifices daily. During 9/11, the Manhattan firefighters were responding to a gas leak when they heard the explosion from one of the twin towers. Policemen and firefighters from all around New York and surrounding areas came to help rescue the victims. They searched through rubbish and raced with time to check the buildings before and after the buildings collapsed. There were clouds of smoke, dust, and debris flying through the streets; blinding the bystanders. Hundreds of servicemen died that day, including military personnel in the Pentagon who were also hit by the hijackers. I had a cousin named Johnnie Doctor Jr who was in the Navy. He was killed in the Pentagon. I never got to know him, but from what I heard he was a great person to be
September 11, 2001 was a day that Americans and the world for that matter will not soon forget. When two planes went into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and two others went into the Pentagon and a small town in Pennsylvania, the world was rocked. Everyone in the United States felt very vulnerable and unsafe from attacks that might follow. As a result, confidence in the CIA, FBI, and the airlines were shaken. People were scared to fly after what had happened.
On September 11, 2001, America was forever changed. On this day, America faced the biggest terrorist attack that had ever been carried out; thousands of people lost their lives that day. Throughout the sadness and mourning of this terrible event, George Bush addressed the nation with one of the most memorable speeches. When President Bush addressed the nation, he stated that America is strong and they could try to bring us down, but we will not be broken. This speech gave hope to many Americans and helped them remember to stay strong. This day will be forever remembered for all the souls that lost their lives and the brave people who threatened their own life to save others.
While we were on our D.C. trip we got to go to the 9/11 memorial, it was such an honor to be able to go. By going it was definitely an eye opener for me to really see how many people lost their lives and how many families lost their loved ones. You don’t truly understand how many people died and what a tragedy this event was until you actually see the memorial or if you saw what actually happened, it is amazing to think that all those firefighters gave their live to help protect others. These people should be honored throughout history because of what they did. By really hearing about the 9/11 attack and getting to see the memorial really opened my eyes to see how serious it really was and how many lives in ended and how many families it affected. The memorial is such an amazing place to be and to think that where you are standing is where the twin towers used to stand and where so many people used to work. Not only did the attack affect the people on the planes or in the buildings, but also the people who lived or worked around that area. Before seeing the 9/11 memorial and hearing about what happened, I didn’t really understand how big of a deal this attack was. While I was at the memorial I took a moment and looked around me and I saw other families and people there walking through the memorial or standing by a name. Seeing that really made me understand how

September 11, 2001 is known as the worst terrorist attack in United States history. On a clear Tuesday morning, there were four planes that were hijacked and flown into multiple buildings by a terrorist group named al Qaeda. This group, led by Osama bin Laden, killed nearly 3,000 people. Out of those 3,000 people more than 400 police and 343 firefighters were killed along with 10,000 people who were treated for severe injuries. Many lives were taken, and to this day, people still suffer from the attack. September 11th is the most influential event of the early twenty-first century because it made an increase in patriotism, it caused a rise in security throughout the nation, and it had a tremendous effect of thousands of lives.
September 11 is not just about mourning, it's about the community giving back hope. It is about police forces and firefighters in N.Y , the servicemen and females in the Pentagon, including the many passengers in the flights. September 11 was a day of disgrace, but it was also a day of bravery, and of integrity.
September 11th, 2001 is one of the worst days in the United States of America’s history by far. It all began at 8:45am when a stolen airplane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. Many people believed that this was...
There were numerous events and threats leading up to the terrorists attacks on the World Trade Center which left chaos amongst the streets of downtown New York City and would leave America and its families devastated and prone to change after this infamous date in our nation’s history. What happened on September 11th, 2001 was without a doubt both horrific and ill natured. Multiple terrorists hijacked several US airliners that would later be flown into the North and South towers, the Pentagon, and also an unintended area in Pennsylvania. It can be said that the United States of America was unprepared and vulnerable for these occurrences.
The day terrorist killed 2,996 people in the United States of America; this is known as 9/11. On September 11, 2001 nineteen hijackers took over four commercial airplanes. Two planes struck the twin towers causing them to collapse, one plane hit the pentagon, and another crashed into a field in Somerset, Pennsylvania.
On September 11, 2001 terrorists crashed two American airline airplanes into Twin Towers, killing thousands of people. It was the worst terrorist attack in American history and it showed us that we are not protected by Atlantic and Pacific. It showed us that we could be attacked by anyone at anytime. It showed us that if we will be attacked again that we can only depend on each other and not on other nations to help us. The 9/11 changed people forever, some lost family members or friends, others lost their jobs even so called “American Dream.”
On the morning of September 11, 2001, exactly at 9:22 a.m., I woke up to start my day and turned my television on. Instantly, Fox News had reported that a commercial plane had smashed into the Twin Towers of New York City, just minutes earlier. While the story was certainly shocking, I wanted to know more and watched the horrific aftermath unfold, as it continued to happen. I remember an incredible feeling of sadness that I could do nothing to help the people in these buildings, as well as a great concern that more attempts could be made to create further tragedy elsewhere.
Knowing that 9/11 (september 11) didn’t happen everywhere on the globe but it impacted everyone. Just like we are all one we defend each other and feel bad for each other. One way to think about it is we all are recovering each year on this historical day. It may bring tears to people's eyes. Even though some people weren't born yet when 9/11 happened everyone can still feel the devastation that everybody feels. That people who didn’t like america thought to crash the Twin Towers in New York. I don’t know why i bet no one knows why but we can’t change it, we can’t go back into the past and prevent them from doing it. We all know it was hard; for the people who lost their job, home and maybe even their job that payed for that single home. That day in New York most people lost a lot of things; possessions family objects. Some of those things you just can’t recover. But we will always move on. That's why we have to know that it happened but it can always show us that we are one nation and we are growing everyday, every year and every time this day comes around. We all stand strong.
9/11 was one of the darkest days in America, but some say the government could have been part of these attacks. For many years people have debated about the 9/11 cover up. This theory cannot explain why the government would do this. Once people understand why the 9/11 cover up is fake, they will begin to see the answer to their problem, could the government have done this? This conspiracy theory is wrong because, terrorists admitted to the attacks, so many people died, and there's no evidence against the government.
