For my passion project I made cookies, but not just any cookies, I made cotton candy cookie. There were many ups and a downs while making these cookies, but they all payed off in the end. I learned many things during this passion project. For example I learned why I wanted to make these cookies, I made three of my own recipes and learned some really cool facts!
When I was searching for a passion project, I knew I wanted to bake. So, I spent time on the internet searching for something to bake. Then over the weekend, I met my friend, and I saw her eating cotton candy. I remembered having these delicious cotton candy cookies in India. That's when I decided I was going to make cotton candy cookies for my passion project. While researching, I found multiple interesting facts about baking, cooking and

I came up with different recipes and made three different kinds of cotton candy cookies. I asked all my classmates to taste them and provide their vote on which one they like the best. The cookie the majority of the class liked was the first one I made. When I was making cookies and researching I learned a lot! For example, did you know that drinking milk can increase your chance in developing heart disease, cancer and diabetes? I didn’t either until I was researching about milk because I thought I might use it in my recipe! Also, the first time I made a cookie it didn’t turn out very well. It tasted disgusting and like flour! When I tried again, I had someone help and she told us what I did wrong. I learned that if you put both butter and margarine, it will taste better. I also learned that you need both baking soda and baking powder to make the cookie rise. You might be wondering why the first cookie I made won. Well, most people voted for the first cookie because the green cookie was to brittle and bitter and the other cookie was way to sweet with both icing and
My favorite service project was my silver award for girl scouts. Before Jamie Lince, Faith Brown, and I did the silver award the hoophouse by the elementary school was very rundown. There were holes in the plastic, weeds in the beds, and the wood chips in the aisles were worn down. The hoophouse couldn’t be used. We wanted to fix that problem. First we applied for grants. I never knew how many steps or how much time this would take. It really taught me how to handle deadlines so things get turned in on time. It also taught me that there are people that want to support you, and you just need to find them. The two grants that we received were a Lowes grant for fifteen-hundred dollars and a seed grant from Van Atta’s. The second step was to get people to help weed out the beds so we could plant the seeds we got from the grant. This took a few hours and a lot of people from the community showed up to help. The Lowes grant was used for the plastic that goes on the outside of the hoophouse and new wood chips for the aisles in the hoophouse. We had to have the help of Mr. Montry who makes hoop house...
Throughout history, motivation has been one of the components to survival. Motivation is needed to get up in the morning and go on about the day in order to survive. As humans began to evolve, so did society, which meant our drive and motivation were derived from different goals rather than one common one. Rather than depending on biological drive, humans started to depend on the system of rewarding the good behavior and punishing the bad. This operating is known as Motivation 2.0 (Pink, 2009). However, this method is flawed due to the fact that this implies that humans are no different from a herd of livestock.
I have matured more as a person and have realized that I need to work hard but understand that it’s okay to give yourself a break sometimes. I often over stressed about my school work and it didn’t benefit me all the time. This project highlighted that I am creative, hardworking, and patient. I had to be creative when I came up with my painting idea and hardworking to get it done. I had to be patient when completing the painting because it took a lot of time and I really wanted them to look good. I learned that donating to your community around you not only benefits that person or group, but also benefits yourself too. I learned that I really like making people happy because it makes me happy and will be volunteering in the
I think the project that most impacted me as a learner was the memorial project. This projected made me grow as a learner because I had to work with someone that I had never worked with before. When we started just getting a topic that we both wanted to do was the first thing that made me realize that this project was going make me need to use and learn some new skills. My partner and I had some trouble with trying to come up with a design to show everything we wanted to show for our topic. We had to be patient with each other making sure the we both listing to each other and understanding what and why they wanted to do this. We also has some trouble with communication because we didn’t completely understand what the other wanted making ti hard to finalize our design. Another thing with communication was who was doing what my partner didn’t always know what to do so we would sometimes end up wasting time trying to find something for her to do that she wanted to do. Communicating was something that I really improved on for this project teaching me how to be more specific with what I say so that we don’t get confused later. Over all I think that this memorial project as the one that made me use more of the learner profile skills then any other and helped me improve one one as
Writing my own stories: I believe it was in sixth or seventh grade when I wanted a certain setting in my life with only certain people. So I started writing, simple things I wished up. But then when I got to 8th grade I had watched a show and read something over it to lead myself with another totally different idea. A whole book, perhaps even a series with it all. Things that happened in my day, even what I heard would trigger something that I would instantly want to put in it. Then I would get lost in my own stories, saying things no one would know what they meant. I truly wanted it all to happen since it was worse but much better than my life, now even.
People forget that there are classes that can help you to were you need to get you to were you need to be for your carrer that you want. Your fresham year its all about passing you don’t need to worry about the classes that could get you a step forward into making your dream carrer come true. But the beging of your sophmere year of high school you might want to start thinking about what you want your carrer to be. But your last 2 years of high school then you might want to be planning for after high school. If you don’t want to go to college thats fine.
We have some opinion on what we think about theology. We have all had experiences with theology that shape how we view God. These experiences are supposed to help shape us as human beings and allow us to see and experience God. These experiences could be good or bad, but what if they do not have an effect or have not experienced God? How would one describe an experience they have never had.
Sometimes, it takes nothing to create something. At one period in time, I never knew what programming or even program was. But, I have always had a fondness for science.I strongly feel that there is a point in time, where you have to do something you usually would never do.In these times, you can find out what you are truly made of no matter what anyone else thinks; for me it was robotics and how I got my programming skills, to eventually rise to the top and becoming the robotics captain.
In addition to my drawing abilities, I also loved to create and build everything. It is safe to say that my Legos was my favorite toys as a child because it allowed me to be inventive and design anything that I wanted to. Also using my creativity, I would always try to make things from scratch, creating cards with available materials, and making things out of my shoes boxes because I thought it was fun. Even when my mother would bring things home like TV stands and dressers, I would always beg to assemble them myself because I just love to build things and put them together. I like to be spontaneous and engage myself in hands-on activities that require creativity. It has made me realize that my creativity was a gift given to me and it is going to take me far in life. It inspired me to want to go into the engineering field because engineers work in a variety of fields to analyze, develop and evaluate large-scale, complex systems. They can improve and maintain current systems or create brand new projects. Engineers design and draft blueprints, visit systems in the field and manage projects, and my creativity and skill would be a perfect fit for this field. When I was in the ninth grade I decided to join the Engineering Academy at Elkins High School and I've been in the academy ever since. The courses we took allowed me to push creativity to its limits with the projects we did. I did many projects such as
My passion for psychology started since I was in middle school; I have been surprised on many psychology theories and how captivating psychology would help to explain human behaviors. Therefore, I have begun my desire to concentrate on researching about psychology, specified in the cognitive neuroscience area, particularly on human memory and languages.
The importance of striving to achieve personal goals is significant. Most of the time, you can’t accomplish what you want instantly, which is why you have to work hard for it. Only through hard work, is where people can reach their dreams. Every single one of the successful people in this world are hard workers. Nobody is born a hard worker, but with good enough motivation, anything is possible. If your goal is very important to you, important enough that you would be willing to spend lots of time on it, then nothing should be able to stop you.
Motivation is something that can affect everyone, it could be for money, punishment, or even sex. My biggest motivation was whenever I wrestled in high school, it was just the feeling of getting my hand raised on the matt knowing I won. Some people may ask what else do I think motivation is. I happen to know someone who I think defines Motivation, her name is Corina Herrera she is a 27 year old, single mother of two MMA fighter. I have never met someone who is so dedicated to do something. “ I knew I was born to fight” , she once told me and she had proven this is what she is meant to do.She had a fight the beginning of August 2016 she worked day and night cutting weight and training. Her goal is to get into the UFC and I know with the hard work and dedication
My passion for health and wellness sparked when I was separated from my parents at the age of 11. My father was diagnosed with tuberculosis that later turned out to be Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. This forced my parents to relocate to less polluted areas while my brother and I stayed in the city to attend the school for the gifted. Education was scarce and even harder to enroll in an institution that will open the doors for higher education. My brother and I lived in Ho Chi Minh City with a nanny and only saw my mother twice a week. My mother left me these words shortly after the move, “If there is anything that you can’t do, imagine that you do not have parents and no one will help you, except yourself. Be strong”. With these words embedded in my heart, I spent the rest of my school years perusing healthcare and wellness in order to impact the health of society as a whole and to prevent any child from experiencing what I have. I am confident that my passion will have an effect on
