For people with too many passions in life, trying something new will help them narrow down exactly what they feel called to do. The more they do something and feel amazing while doing it, the easier it will be to see how important it is in their life and how badly they want to make it a permanent part of their life. For example, my friend who had too many passions started doing volunteer work at an animal shelter, taking reflexology courses, and painting in her spare time. She quickly realized that art was her biggest passion and she wanted to be a working artist. Once she decided that she loved being an artist, it was just a matter of taking action on getting her art out there to help her figure out exactly how she could go about making …show more content…
Once you start having fun and playing around with new 'toys' in your life, you will have a much better chance of letting go of limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck on what you should be doing instead of what you enjoy doing. - Try new things without prejudice: Picture a kid seeing another kid with a shiny new toy. Their interest is piqued, they walk over and ask if they can also play with it, and if they like the toy they ask their mom if they can have one. Don't just try things you think you want to do. If an opportunity to try something new presents itself, and you are not repulsed by it, then try it. That's how I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. I saw an ad that got my interest, I clicked on it, I played with the idea for a bit, and then I realized that this was something I wanted to do with my life. - Don't limit yourself: Kids don't tell themselves that they shouldn't try something new or will not be good at it. If they are interested, they go for it! Take on this attitude as you try to figure out what to do with your life. You never know if something that you once thought was impossible is actually exactly what you are supposed to be doing. An astronaut? A world class skater? A best-selling author? These are all things that people can become, so don't limit yourself by your
My family has a saying that we all use religiously “FITFO” it stands for Figure it the F*** Out. You don’t, or at least shouldn’t, have to be told how to do everything. Be responsible for your own skills and abilities. It’s like they say about learning a language, “you learn it best by submission”. You pick up all the slang and different accents by hearing the language spoken, not in the classroom. Same in many aspects of life. You may learn generalizations about some things from being taught, but the best wat to really learn all of the small things and specific details is by going out and doing
... to try it. Even if the parents think they know what is best for the child, it is for the child to decide what will make them happy, and successful in life. You must enjoy what you are doing to be successful in it.
When people are younger everyone always ask what do you want to be when you are older? Of course when it is children everyone is filled with wonder about their answer whether it’s a model, astronaut, race car driver, etc. Now that I’m older it’s expected for me to know exactly what to do with my life and how to do it. I realized very soon that I sometimes can be an indecisive person when it comes to life-long decisions. This being a huge decision in one’s life you could only imagine how many times I’ve changed my idea on what to go to school for. Although, changing my mind become a norm, I eventually decided a degree in business/marketing is the right path for me. What are my career and educational goals, what will my job would be like, and
So many people have ideas of things they want to do, whether they be business-related, something that scares them or even just asking someone else out on a date. Everyone has ideas about how they want to live their lives, but most people never wind up following through. They are so afraid of failure or of looking bad that they run from any kind of challenge. Then later in life, when they realize that they had all these opportunities and never took ad...
I remember a time in my life when I would always play with little children. At that point, at the age of six or seven, I decided to become a pediatrician or a kindergarten teacher. When I started high school, I started feeling stressed out because of the pressure that I was doing to myself to reach my goal of becoming a pediatrician. I could hardly focus on the topic we would have during class because I would be thinking about my future as a pediatrician. With the help of my friends, they helped me overcome the obstacles that I had. The more I thought about what profession I wanted to be, I thought about how much I loved working and dealing with computers. My friends and cousins told me that I should and can be what ever I wanted, and that helped me decide to major in computer engineering at San Jose State University. So you see when it comes down to life, dreams are not the only thing that can keep men going, friendships, pets and companionships can do the same.
It can be hard to know what one wants to do when they’re older. There are certain things to consider, like a level of interest in the topic, how much information one would already know, how much that will be needed to know, and to take in if this is what one would want to do in their future life. I know for me when I have to think about future plans it can really worry me. I tend to get stressed out, scared, and wanting to avoid the topic entirely, even though in the back of my mind I know I need to stop running away with what I need to currently take care of. It’s a lot like in the tragedy play of Macbeth. There was so much pressure to always be something more. If a right hand man of the king wasn’t good enough, then he had to be king himself.
I believe that unless you are passionate about an activity, an occupation, or a sport that you partake in, you should not pursue it, especially if you are choosing to do so for the sake of someone else. A person is only limited to a certain amount of years in their life, and each person is limited to a different amount, unknown to the individual. Therefore, if you participate in one of these things that you do not adore, you should not continue taking part in that activity, for it is wasting your time that could be spent finding yourself in something you love. That being said, if you happen to come across something you love, I believe you should indulge in that activity. It is rare to come across a hobby, occupation, or sport that makes you happy, and when you do find that activity, it is important that you engage in it for as long as you are able to.
come with a goal in life - to succeed on it. With that kind of mentality I
Growing up in a society where there are so many opportunities, I had no problem figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. I have always enjoyed helping others in any way that I was able too. From babysitting, raking leaves, serving as a volunteer for a number of organizations, no matter how big or small the need, I have always found it gratifying to help others. I ultimately recognized that I had to pursue a career in something that would allow me to help others, while positively giving back to the community. The heavy influence of wanting to help others comes from my very own personal life experiences, which have greatly impacted my career choices. These experiences include being an adopted child, volunteering within my community, serving as a resident assistant and
In addition to examining your interests, this The Power of Purpose book suggests that you consider any time you achieve a state of “flow” in your life as a possible indicator of your true purpose. He The author urges you look for those moments when you’re are so passionate that you lose yourself in the task at hand. Instead of planning what you should do, reflect on what you’ve have already done. How have your past experiences made you feel? Is there anything that you’ve have done that you love doing just for its own sake? Does that passion allow you to give back to society in any meaningful way?
”A passion gives you a reason to keep learning and to work toward mastery. It can often give you a reason to travel, and therefore to have the new experiences so key to happiness. It gives you something in common with other people, and so fosters social bonds. It gives you purpose. It often has a satisfying physical aspect-rock-climbing, fly-fishing, and knitting. It gives meaningful structure to your time. It makes the world a richer place. When you're in pain, it can be a refuge, a distraction, a solace.”
Writing has always been one of the things that I’m passionate about. Whenever I have something on my mind, I would jot it down or type it in my notes. No matter how small or pathetic it seems, I would always write it down, because you never know when you’re going to go back to it and create something grand, out of inspiration. People would think that a person like me would write down poems or novel ideas. That’s completely true, but I also write down recipes, grocery lists, hate lists and literally anything that comes to my mind. I’m the type of person that does not like to miss anything, forget anything and likes to include everything. People would say I’m a perfectionist or a control freak and as much as I would hate to admit that, it is true. While these traits of mine might hinder my writing process, during this school year I learned how to embrace them.
I Would utilize the concept that our genetics play a role in what type of career one should choose. One ought to think about their natural talents and abilities as a part of their career search. My theory would also account for the environmental influences one may encounter in childhood, because I was personally very influenced by the way I was raised as a child. Another factor I would consider in my theory is the opportunities one is given, for instance, growing up in an upper middle class neighborhood allowed me to attend a very good high school, where the arts were funded. Students who are not as fortunate as I, may have to attend schools where the arts were cut due to low budgets. These students may not have the opportunity to explore the arts, and therefore do no choose a creative career. My theory would also be influenced by the notions that career development is a lifelong experiences and our goals and success will change over time as we grow. For instance, my career goals when I first began working are vastly different than they are now, and I am confident as a grow within my career, and I will be a different woman at 34 than at 20. I believe that acknowledge the changes we go through in life can impact and shape that forms our career takes.
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. My experiences with in my passions have helped me aligned my vision for my life. They have given me the valuable knowledge that have set me up for success to get to this point in life.
