The Grove is the women’s ministry for Passion City Church located in Atlanta, GA. This church has a huge outreach in not only their weekly gatherings, but also in their college ministry which has impacted the lives of millions of students for the gospel. The idea for Passion City church was actually born from these very college conferences. One component of the ministry that Louie and Shelley Giglio have built is their women’s ministry known as The Grove. The Grove is a monthly meeting of women in the Atlanta area that is hosted by Shelley Giglio and her team in order, “to come, rest, worship, learn, and be as we celebrate the power and greatness of Jesus.” As can be assumed, a gathering of this size and magnitude requires quite a few resources and a very large team. This event is located at Passion City Church’s main campus, 515 Garson Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30324. However, in the month of December they often rent out another location as well due to the size of the December Gathering. Now that the place is all set the next step would be the planning of the actual event. The night ends with the busses running once again to take the ladies to their parking spots. This event has about 14 city transportation busses running for about four hours, which would cost an estimate $14,000 per event. Seeing as the location is property of the church, their is no extra cost due to the venue. The stage design and overall decor of the event is a massive cost. In my paper I will talk about my visit to The Community Church at Murphy's Landing (CCML). I have chosen this particular Church because it is a family church type and my neighbor goes there and she encouraged me to go with her. I went there with my neighbor on April 6, 2014.This church is an appropriate for this assignment because the people there are welcoming me with an open heart and they are willing to help and provide me with information. When I visit the Church’s site I read these words “We know visiting a new church can be intimidating. But, we want to help you to be as comfortable as possible when and if you join us”. The people gather in the church weekly to glorify God in joyful worship. The expressions of worship on CCML take many forms a prayer, a hymn of reverent awe, a guitar ringing with a chorus of praise, or a warm handshake and a welcoming smile. Their weekly services begin at 9:30 each Sunday at church. Also, they have weekly podcast if anyone wants to listen online. They have many types of services for parents, kids and students. People at CCML were so friendly; they gather around me and start welcoming me, one by one. People there introducing themselves to me, one after another and provide me with their contact information and help. Then we start talking about the church services and Christianity in particular. Philosophy of Ministry: God's desires come first, I must always live my ministry God's way. I must live as a Christian (1 Corinthians 9:27) I must have a proper relationship of surrender to the Leader. In my personal life or in the Church I must understand that Christ is Head and Chief Shepherd (Ephesians 1:22, Hebrews 13:20). The “management” of Church is about relationships with God and Man, not just maintaining a social organization.
Considering the cultural values of Joe, there are several factors which will influence how The Gospel is presented and revived. Joe is from a collectivist culture, so instead of presenting things as would generally be presented in an individualist culture I must focus more on the group benefit than the personal benefit. Joe will be more interested in how the group is affected, in this case I would focus on the benefit to his family and focus on the family aspects of Christianity. Joe clearly thinks in terms of group benefit, as he often uses the phrase “for the good of the facility” when addressing issues and proposed changes.

What I really appreciated about this book was how brutally honest Fields was about his first two years in youth ministry. They were not easy, and it could be considered an act of God that he survived in ministry for this long. For example, he took a group of “underage students in an over-21 club” in his first two years, and now he helps new leaders understand how to avoid doing this (Fields 13). While many people will shy away from their failures, Fields is very forthcoming about his own personal downfalls, accepting the full and comical blame for his shortcomings early in his career. This is admirable, because this book transforms itself from a “how-to manual…[to] a heart-to-heart talk,” which is how people should approach student ministry

I have not experienced anything quite so disillusioning as a crisis of faith. It is a gut-wrenching, world-warping realization that sets in slowly with increasing pain. But like an ice cube thawing in your hand, the agony yields to absolute numbness. For me, this tribulation set in after leaving my Christian community of ten years. When I started attending an out-of-state, Christian liberal arts school, Wheaton College, I was surprised to discover—in place of the diverse body of competing doctrines and life experiences that I had anticipated—a homogenous student body composed of two-thousand teenagers who were also nondenominational, also raised in megachurches, and also floundering to find a “church home” in the city with America's greatest number of churches per capita (Tully and Roberts 2008). In the three years since, I have sought to better understand the factors that impacted my drifting, and the search has led me to evaluate the megachurch in which I grew up. What I have discovered is a critical oversight in the “new paradigm” game plan—an evangelical church strategy designed as a response to secularization—that may be rendering evangelical Protestantism less relevant than ever for my generation. In my experience attending a megachurch, the movement toward consumer Christianity and its consequences for how church was conducted precipitated my departure and engendered an interest in attending smaller, more liturgical churches.
The first concept to look into is the strengths of the event. The strongest strength of this event is that of the tradition of the event. . This event is a annual event held every spring and held in the wellness center on campus. This is event that some of the student body looks forward to in hopes of raising money for the Make A Wish Foundation.
The desire to be accepted is prevalent among youth today. In a world that is currently suffering from a famine of love that is intended to be given to today’s youth, more and more we see students that desire to be accepted, yet feel accepted by no one. Because of this we see them decide to reach out, and as they do they become accepted into a group that is not a good influence on them, or simply is wasting their time. Here we will look at what exactly the bible tells us in the issue of acceptance, and how it would look in the average youth ministry today. We will then look into how we will follow up with students past their fist visit and finally what utilizing the idea of acceptance to its full potential will do for a ministry.
It was magnificent. The first thing to catch my eye was a monstrous chandelier that hung from the 50 foot ceiling. It was awe inspiring. As my eyes surveyed the room, it was hard to miss the antique maple pews that provided seats for approximately 300 people. Plush emerald green carpet was the grounding to the room. It's path led directly up to the stage which was home to a variety of items. The band, pulpit, arid baptismal were the most obvious. Above the stage was a huge dome, it was colored in shades of blue, mauve, white, and several other soft accents. A bright light was right in the center of its point. Our gazing was soon interrupted when the official greeter returned. This time she was quick and to the point. She collected our cards and informed us that service was about to begin. Within a matter of minutes, a middle-aged man stepped up to the pulpit and asked us to stand.

It may seem a little bit strange, but my favorite place in town in none other than this beautiful Evangelic Church. However, it wasn’t always so.
From business conferences to weddings, there are events going on all around us, and where there are events there are event planners constructing it, putting it all together, while making everything run effectively. Event planning is always unpredictable and you need to be always ready for any problematic situation that may occur. When starting out there is a great chance that problems will occur that one will not prepared to face, but this is all a part of the improvement process. These situations should be looked at as a learning experience and should give you some ideas of how to improve one’s event planning skills and one’s own business. Because of all the hospitality, craziness, and personal gratification, I have chosen to become an event planner.
