My names is Claire girardin. I am very excited to be in your class this year. I can't wait to put in the effort and push myself. I enjoy working with other students but I can be very shy at times. I fall behind sometimes but I will push myself to try harder. I am feeling very good about all my classes and I think this year will really make me work but I am ready.
I came from a small middle school in Desert Hot Springs, California called “Painted Hills Middle School”. The school had an average amount of student per grade. Before that I went to the Elementary school in Desert Hot Springs as well called “Edward Wenzlaff Elementary School”. My past experiences with English aren't so well. I have trouble with writing and summarizing.
I think I would be a good student at this school. I knew from visiting that the school itself held a warm, home-like feel to it. The academic and home-like environment seemed like a great place for me; I think I might be able to excel here. And here I was again, just a week later, except cold, sopping wet, and disoriented. Why was I even out in the rain? I wondered. I couldn’t seem to remember what I was doing before. My memory was foggy until the moment I stepped through the door.
I can cooperate well and listen to other students, and my interest in science means that I will be easily compelled in our various tasks. I will work very hard in all areas of the Academy to be the best member of the community that I can be, and I will be very helpful and attentive to all my fellow students and teachers. I hope that you will consider making me an addition to the Biomedical Academy, and I promise that I will do everything in my power to make the Academy proud if I become a part of

My sixteen week class in English 111. I was really nervous about this class. Because English has never been my strong point. This class has hard, but fun all at the same time. I learn a lot from this class. Meanwhile, the first day of class you handed a paper with a question on it. “The first thing I want to say to you who are students is that you must not think of being here to receive an education; instead, you will do much better to think of being here to claim one.” Even though putting my all in what I have learned, claiming my education with hard work because using the skills of the meal plan, as we write to different audiences and learning to be a Critically thinker as I start becoming a critically-Literate Citizenship.

Soon, after I had settled into my house in Sterling Heights, elementary school started. When school started I didn’t know how to speak English so I was put in ESL, English Second language, where I would go for a half a day. This process was not easy, because I was so young. Everywhere I went there was someone new around me. My first year I was the quiet girl that didn’t talk to anyone. During fourth grade, I stopped going to the English Second Language school and just attended my regular public school. During the transition from third grade to fourth grade, I started to become more comfortable with the people and started to participate
It’s Ilse Kloosterman, and I’m so excited for you to be my English teacher and help me to challenge myself, grow in my writing and reading skills, and think a little deeper. English is a fairly tough for me, as I have awful grammar, and I have troubles with creative thinking. When writing without a specific topic, I find it challenging to come up with a true solid idea. Also, it’s extremely difficult when writing, to keep my writing brief and concise, or afterward trying to find ways to shorten it.
I'm so excited to be taking accelerated English in your class this year! I've heard so many good things about you and your class. I'm not going to lie though, I'm more of a math and science person than an English person. I feel that this year with a fun class, I'll be able to accelerate in English.
Over time, my English improved. I moved on to regular sixth grade classes; some of which were

The first paragraph should identify at least three aspects of your writing you wish to improve and answer the following questions: How have these issues, whether related to grammar, style, tone, or process, affected your ability to communicate effectively in the past? How do you plan to work on these issues?
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
For most of middle school, succeeding in English simply means to know the grammar rules and be able to understand the information from a text. At the time, English is not much different from all the other school subjects. Math, science, and social studies, are all based on memorization and problem solving. Middle school English was also based on memorization, such as remembering vocabulary words or events from a novel. However, the memorization based English began to change in eighth grade.
Valedictorian Speech Good evening fellow graduates, teachers, family members, friends, and distinguished guests. It is a tremendous honor to be the valedictorian of our graduating class. My job is to somehow be the voice of the entire graduating class, and take five minutes to say a few words on behalf of all 539 of us. Like most valedictorians, writing this speech was not an easy task for me. Not because I did not have anything to say, but because I was overwhelmed by how much I wanted to share with you all on this day. Tonight, we have one common purpose, to celebrate. We are here to congratulate, to look towards what the future holds for us, to wish each other well, and to, most importantly look back on our time spent here. So, I would like to start by saying 'well done' to my fellow graduates, who have all worked hard during the past several years to reach this milestone. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the graduating class for selecting me to speak here tonight. Ever since the news broke, many people, some who've I've never really met before, have come up to me and have wished me well. Perhaps this speech would be incomplete if I don’t say something to the teachers. On the behalf of my entire class, I would like to thank all my teachers: thank you. Thank you for teaching us, for leading us, for building us up as adults. I know that we have not given back to you the respect you deserve. I know that we have not told you how much we appreciate you taking time out of your schedules to help us. And I know that we have not said thank you for giving us a wonderful education. So, I hope that as I say thanks, you can forget our shortcomings and remember us for who we are and not from the mistakes we have made. ...
