Different Learning Styles
Students have different ways to learn. Some people are hands on learners or visual learners. Teachers try to adapt the way they teach; to the way their students learn the best. The information that is being taught should be made fun so that the students remember the information. Schools are also using new technology to help students learn. Different learning styles have different effects on people.
Different learning styles are the talk of many school districts from near and far. The study of different learning styles has gone back since the late 19th to the early 20th centuries. We all know that people have different ways of learning, so teachers try to teach the way their students learn the best. There are different types of learning styles for example: visual, audio, and kinesthetic. Auditory is of or pertaining to hearing, or to the sense or organs of hearing; as, the auditory nerve. Visual is having the nature of or producing an image in the mind. Kinesthetic is the sense that detects bodily position, weight, or movement of the muscles, tendons, and joints. (www.dictionary.com)
There have been different studies on which ways of learning are effective for people. The CAI (computer-assisted instruction) did a study "that focused on an issue that indicated that all students, regardless of learning style, obtained higher science achievement scores when taught via CAI approach than via auditory (lecture) or visual (reading) method." In its most basic form, this employee engagement policy provided for the enhancement communication and the identification and resolution of the diverse problems threatening the optimal productivity by employees. True to the letter, as organizations seek to fully exploit the productive capabilities of its workforce, workers have their expectations in return. Indeed, reliable productivity is best realized only when employers appreciate the varied socioeconomic, career, and health among other interests by employees (Mcknight, et al., 2001). From an employee behavior point of view, an effective employee engagement strategy should take into consideration employee needs and expectations such as career development, social life, and workplace safety (Kidwell, et al., 2010).
“A learning style is a way of learning and refers to the way that you learn new information” (2). Most people have one preferred learning style and perform to a lesser standard when learning in a different style than what they’re used to. Nowadays, children are told to take a quiz in school to determine what their preferred learning style is, but after a few years, not many of these children remember what their preferred learning style is, or even if they do, they don’t apply it to their learning.
Executives often wonder how engaged their employees are in their organization. However, isn’t it physically impossible to measure employee engagement? So, how can a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or even a manager evaluate their employees to understand if everyone is engaged and committed in their workforce? Employee engagement is not as simple as it sounds. Many believe that employee engagement simply means having happy employees. However, it is a much more complex issue than just happy employees. This report will look at how to motivate your employees, the positive and negative outcomes employee engagement has with engaged workers, as well as the key elements to employee engagement.
While most people agree that employee engagement is a real, definable concept, there is a lack of uniformity on exactly how to define it. Yet, most definitions encompass two key facets: the degree to which employees fully occupy themselves in their work and apply discretionary effort, as well as the strength of their commitment to the employer and role. Stated another way, employee engagement is the extent to which employees commit to something or someone in their organization and how hard they work and how long they stay as a result of that commitment.
Learning styles are defined as educational conditions under which a student is most likely to learn (Stewart & Felicetti, 1992). Therefore, learning styles do not really concern with what learners learn, but how they prefer to learn. Employee engagement is a relatively new concept which has been heavily marketed and publicised by management consultancies. The reason for this is because many of these management consultancy firms suggest that employee engagement can affect the bottom line, increase business performance, profitability and customer service Macey & Schieder (2008 P:). Increasing levels of engagement is becoming more important to an organisation because the outcome of employee engagement has been reported to correlate with performance. The CIPD through their research into employee engagement have identified that engaged employees are more likely to deliver business performance (CIPD 2010)

In Closing The level of engagement determines whether people are productive and stay with the organization--or move to the competition. Research highlights that the employee connection to the organizational strategy and goals, acknowledgment for work well done, and a culture of learning and development foster high levels of engagement. Without a workplace environment for employee engagement, turnover will increase and efficiency will decline, leading to low customer loyalty and decreased stakeholder value. Ultimately, because the cost of poor employee engagement will be detrimental to organizational success, it is vital for HR to foster positive, effective people managers along with workplace policies and practices that focus on employee well-being, health and work/life balance.
The sun shines upon Earth every day, yet no one thinks much of it. Solar power’s importance, though, is above what anyone could have ever imagined. There is active solar energy, which is when solar power is converted into light, heat, cause air-movement for ventilation or cooling, or store heat for future use. Less thought of, the other type of solar energy is passive energy, which most take for granted. Solar power provides life with heat, light, and now, electricity. Solar power also plays a role in 4 of the 5 areas of green technology: energy, green building, environmentally preferred purchasing, and green chemistry. All in all, solar power is quite a unique form of energy.
Thought out our lives, we are faced with many different learning experiences. Some of these experiences have made a better impact than others. This can be attributed to everyone’s different multiple intelligences or learning styles. A persons learning style is the method though which they gain information about their environment. As a teacher, it is our responsibility to know these styles, so we can reach each of our students and use all of the necessary methods.
