My sixteen week class in English 111. I was really nervous about this class. Because English has never been my strong point. This class has hard, but fun all at the same time. I learn a lot from this class. Meanwhile, the first day of class you handed a paper with a question on it. “The first thing I want to say to you who are students is that you must not think of being here to receive an education; instead, you will do much better to think of being here to claim one.” Even though putting my all in what I have learned, claiming my education with hard work because using the skills of the meal plan, as we write to different audiences and learning to be a Critically thinker as I start becoming a critically-Literate Citizenship.
In claiming my education, learning new skills to help me in my life journey. It taught me how to write effectively and proofread. This will help me a lot in my everyday life and in my career field. In the paralegal field writing, any court orders are very important because how you write an order and be translated something different what court order. This class has helped me in a lot of ways. By working hard through these sixteen weeks, engaging in an assignment that was tough I did not quit or give up. I use

For this purpose, this skill is helpful in my Paralegal field. Critically thinking as I use the skill in a court case using inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning is important. Using Logical fallacies to catch faulty arguments in writing and documents. Being a critically-Literate Citizenship using my skills in literacy. Critical literacy inspires me to understand and questions the audience, the tones of the text , values, and beliefs of written texts, visual , and spoken words. When I first started this class I never heard this term used so it was hard for me to understand but now after sixteen weeks of class. I understand more than one for I first started this
During my first semester of college, I felt like this course overshadowed all the others. I faced many challenges, gained better habits, and even increased the value of myself as a scholar. Not only did my professor provide her students with the course material she built a confidence inside of us that will allow us to be able to tackle any task, especially pertaining to any written compositions. The things that I have learned from this course could and will be applied to any and everything I do from here on out, whether that writing an essay or even taking a test. Again, the journey was long, but I will be forever grateful for the things that I, and all of my peers have gained from this
The first day of my junior year I was extremely overwhelmed by this class; all the essays we were required to write in the first week didn't help much either. However, since the beginning of the year I have learned so many useful and important lessons which have guided my learning throughout this first semester and, I'm assuming, will continue to guide me for the rest of my high school experience and beyond. In addition, I have made many goals which pertain to essays I have written, and I believe I have met those goals.
Finally, I learned how to be more responsible by myself. In my last classes, my teachers were technically always there to tell me step by step what to do and how to do my assignments. In a certain way, it made me kind of lazy and entirely dependent of my teachers. However in this course it was not like that; instead, my instructor just gave me the assignments, instructions, and deadlines, and I must write my essays and summited it on time. This absence of guide absolutely made me to react that it was time to me to do my assignments by myself, demonstrate what I know, and ask for help just whenever it is
Throughout this course, we had multiple assignments that were aimed at improving us as writers. I am sure that everyone took something different from this course, and I am sure that each student took more from some areas than others; however for me there were three major things that I saw that I benefited from most. Our weekly craft lessons, grammar plan, but most of all, observational learning. Our weekly craft lessons have introduced us to multiple writing strategies. These strategies have helped turn my papers from elementary papers that were written below my expected grade level to papers more on par with my peers.
My first college English class was ENC 1101 at the State College of Florida. In this course, I learned a vast amount of information about writing, reading, and grammar. When I first walked into ENC 1101 in August, I expected the class to be like any other English class in High School; with rushed busy work and a lot of useless tests and quizzes. However, throughout each week of the semester, Professor Knutsen’s class made me beg to differ. This class was not like any other high school English class. In this class I actually learned important information and did not do work just to complete it. This class had a few assignments here and there, enough to maintain, in order to learn proper information. I learned a lot in this class because I was not rushed to
The skills and abilities of critical thinking consist of several aspects. It requires you to use your ability to do critical, logical, and empirical reasoning. It also requires self-direct, self-discipline, self-monitored, and self
The question of the day is how was Barbara Bileks English composition class and how it helped me better myself as a writer. The class overall was a very informative experience and I feel as I learned a lot. Whenever the class started I considered myself a mediocre at best writer and thought that I would never improve. However, Ms. Bilek taught me to become a better writer by using many techniques that I did not know existed. In high school, we were not taught how to write academically because to them it did not matter. Anything that we had to say was just a paper for them to read and it could not change their minds or influence them in any way. College is different because the university is a research institute meaning that our work if deemed worthy, could be used throughout the university as an example of good quality work or as a new discovery for the modern world. This class helped me in three ways: improving my writing ability, helped in expressing my opinion, and making me a better person in todays society.
I learned from my peers that I am a better writer than I thought I was and that increased my confidence in my writing ability. This didn’t just teach me about myself; I learned how to write several different types of papers. I improved throughout the semester as I learned how to analyze for rhetorical appeals, research an issue, and evaluate a topic. I am glad that I was able to learn a lot from this class, as well as read my peers work. It was intriguing to see how others write and what topic are important to them. Lastly, I was proud of all my work that I accomplished in this
This semester in kinesiology it has helped make my decision in what I want to to do in my career choice. Teaching me and every other student how to more full express themselves in writing and to process what they have read helps them better themselves. Overall I feel I have achieved what was set out for me in this class, to gain a better use of the English language and to express myself in my writing in more constructive ways. I be able to gather the information giving to me by another person or body of work and express my own thoughts and ideas that were generation from the information provided. The ability to clearly communicate my understanding of things in the world makes it easier to get along with others. I had a difficult time with this class, I will not lie, but at the end of it I do feel like I have come out ahead and can express myself in more constructive ways, at least in writing that
...dless of what I am trying to accomplish. I feel that I am much better now, in persuading someone through my writings; which would definitely come in handy in the future. The responsibility I have gained during this experience is incredible and has taught me to be a much more organized person. During this semester I was taught a process of how to write a paper and organize it. I found that all of these responsibilities have made me realize that I could definitely take the next step forward in my academic career. Each new experience I involve myself in has made me continue to grow and constantly learn something new. I am someone who has never really enjoyed English classes in the past and I when I registered for English 101 I only saw it as a requirement to graduate but I really did enjoy this English course and I know that it was something that was worthwhile for me.
This class has challenged me and has taken me the next level when it comes to performing better. I have attained understanding of
In an overall attempt to process the lessons she has learned from her 6 now 7 year-old son, Amelia, fights to understand, protect, and raise awareness for those who may not be accepted as “gay”.
My life pictorial was really detailed in terms of trying to make the audience understand where I was coming from which made me feel confident that they would enjoy viewing the slideshow presentation. It also made me feel happy to share accomplishments that made me who I am today. I felt a bit overwhelmed with my decision to what I presented because I did not present anything with a tragic event because I felt that it was inappropriate from my perspective. Everyone presented something emotionally hard to process where as my presentation was more of the happy ending and a bit of relief to listen to so everyone would have a chance to settle down their emotions which made me feel at ease to be the relief. I chose to present events in my life that were impactful, like losing 30 pounds. This was something that positively influenced group member but I made it personal by showing my before and after’s which was extremely hard to do. I did feel vulnerable because I was not confident
This lesson is designed to review and reinforce a few important concepts about plants (e.g. Needs, parts, sequence of planting) and to also guide the students through applying a few scientific inquiry (e.g. Making observations, experimentation, discussion, reflection, reporting results etc.). The students have previously planted corn and bean seeds and today’s lesson has provided the students a chance to see the results of the planted corn and bean seeds. Additionally, seeds have been planted under and growing under the following conditions: without water, and without soil. The students see the results of these seeds planted under these conditions for the past week. Two plants in particular have already been grown their growth has been
