Overcoming Obstacles

For some people overcoming a challenge or obstacle that they face may not seem like a tough task to do but for some people it can be complicated or possibly one of the toughest things that they have ever had to do. For me my obstacle was my terrifyingly bad grades for my sophomore year of high school, eventually realizing how life changing grades actually are at this point in my life, it was time to make a change. Originally when I first moved to California in 7th grade I didn't get all my classes that I previously had from my old school since the way school worked there was different compared to California, due to this I lost any motivation to actually do anything in school and completely disregarded any work and sometimes tests that I had …show more content…

At this point I looked at what I needed to take care of noticing that most of my classes that I wasn't doing too well in were heavily dependent on homework rather than tests and projects which I normally did well on, for my other classes it was a mixture of just not doing homework and not understanding the subject being taught which led to bad test grades. After realizing what I had done or rather what I have not done in my classes I looked at what I could do to change it around, I started to pay more attention in class along with asking my teachers for any missing assignments I had in order to complete them and turn them in, after turning in my missing assignments my grades were looking better, not as good as they could be, but still a much better improvement compared to before. In order to get my grades to where I had wanted them to be I became more organized and more serious about my studies and started to always pay attention in class and turned in homework in on time, after doing this for a while my grades slowly started to rise and kept rising until my grades were great giving me higher than a 3.0 gpa compared to the lower than 2.5 gpa that I had
