Everyone faces obstacles, whether they’re challenging or not. Obstacles could be either physical, or even mental; the toughest man in the world faces a thick block of ice that is needed to be broken. A challenge I’m trying to break through is this one translucent glass wall. In my vision, this “translucent wall” is being able to see my future. My mindset being fixed, a bright future was not seen. Life felt like I was in constant vertigo; not physically but mentally. The balance of my life took place in fear, anxiety, and loss of hope. There was no easy way, there was no path you could just walk around, or jump over. This wall was not a straight wall, it surrounded me like a sphere of
The night was tempestuous and my emotions were subtle, like the flame upon a torch. They blew out at the same time that my sense of tranquility dispersed, as if the winds had simply come and gone. The shrill scream of a young girl ricocheted off the walls and for a few brief seconds, it was the only sound that I could hear. It was then that the waves of turmoil commenced to crash upon me. It seemed as though every last one of my senses were succumbed to disperse from my reach completely. As everything blurred, I could just barely make out the slam of a door from somewhere alongside me and soon, the only thing that was left in its place was an ominous silence.
I will never give up. I will never allow failure to be an option. I will set goals and I will achieve them. We are obstacles are set in front of us daily. Daily obstacles can range from waking up in the morning when we are overworked to losing a limb or a love done. However, when the outcome is not in my favor I will utilize the situation to find my weaknesses and build a better me for the next battle.
In life, people will always have something to say about you in everything one does in life, either negative or positive, but it’s the moment when you let what is said upon you affect the way you live your life, that when its becomes a problem. I for myself have been victim of so many people saying things about me and letting get into my head, but I had the courage to overcome a lot of obstacles like that. I have struggled with a lot of obstacles in my life some got the better of me while I have been able to overcome most of them. I am writing this essay to give an example of an obstacle which I struggled with for a very long time and I nearly took the best of me, but with time I was able to overcome it.
Almost every day throughout high school I experienced something that I could not identify. It was over a year since I had graduated until could put words to emotion. I discovered that I was not free in my own mind. I was in a prison. One that I couldn't touch and for many years I could not see. After several visits to counselors and therapists I finally had the words to describe what my experience was.
Overcoming Obstacles Throughout a persons life, they are faced with different obstacles, and different challenges of all different types. My life in particular has been full of ups and downs, especially towards my soccer career. In the novel The Pact, three boys, George, Rameck, and Sam, are faced with many obstacles throughout their lives, where they must learn to overcome and achieve great success on their own will power. Essentially, I did the same thing. My soccer career has been one of my most difficult life challenges, creating the person I am today.
The article Assessing Coping Strategies: A Theoretically Based Approach by Carver, Scheier & Weintraub proposes that they are distinct styles of coping: problem-solving coping, emotion-focused coping, and several other coping styles that were deemed to be less useful such as mental disengagement and venting of emotions.
Have you ever wondered if there could possibly be overwhelming obstacles in the way of someone being truly successful in life? Some may witness friends or loved ones not developing to their fullest potential in their profession because of these unobtainable obstacles holding them back. In “Professions for Women,” by Virginia Woolf, Woolf gives a speech to a group of women explaining why they must overcome certain things in order to be successful in their future professional careers. In speaking to this group of determined young women, Woolf explains how horrendous it may be to have your own thoughts or beliefs while living in a society said to be dominated by males. She
3. The most significant challenge that I have faced so far is the need to cover living costs. This difficulty is still affecting my family and me, but I strive for balancing and improving the aspects of my life so that I can gradually overcome this challenge. It should be noted that it has also affected my academic achievement directly. I need to help my wife by sharing housework and taking care of our child who is two-years-old at present. In addition, I need to provide for my family by paying the bills and earning money to meet the needs of my wife and child. Due to the fact that the costs in America are higher than in my home country, I have to work more hours to ensure a sufficient level of living for them, and it is also the reason why I did not have a possibility to attain professional skills and an academic degree earlier. Through this experience, I have learned that family support, persistence to reach goals, and internal stimuli are the factors that can help resolve difficult life situations. My wife sacrifices a lot to help me achieve my goal of gaining a degree and encourages me to continue striving, despite the barriers that we face through residing in a foreign country. Therefore, it is my responsibility and duty to provide a better life for my family by reaching new heights in my academic and professional career.
Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. What does is success mean to you? One might compare success to financial gain. This is not always true everyone lives their lives in different ways and have beliefs that define their life. In my opinion to have a successful life you must do something you love, cannot be afraid to fail, and ultimately must be a hard worker.
In my life I have been faced with many obstacles and I refuse to let anything get in the way of me furthering my education and attending a four year college or university. Ever since birth I have defied the odds. I had to grow up without having my biological mother or father in my life however, I never let that situation get me down. I have always put my best foot in front in order to tackle any situation that I was faced with in my lifetime. I was about six months old and my mother dropped me off at my grandmothers house and ever sense has not showed up. My father has never been in the picture either in and out of jail is the normal for him. Now i had one of two options the first continue on the path that my mother and father choose and do exactly what they did and the second option is be the opposite of them excel in High School and further my education at a college or
Striving for Successful I believe that making a organizational successful is to being able to meet the needs of the organization. The strength of any organization depends on the strength of the management and workforce. The organization needs to have unique and strong cultures with values of the same in order to provide excellent performance. Managing people with respect, from the time they are being interviewed for possible hire, to the time of their leaving the organization, is the hallmark of modern, successful organizations.
The proverb means that success come through failures. He only fails who strives to do something. It is meant as an encouragement to those who fail in life, and to give them the urge to try hard, to build on the strong foundations of experience already gained. As the poet said –
If we let our personal challenges destroy us, then we are nothing and have nothing to offer the world. It is important that we take control of our situation and use the personal hardship as an opportunity to better ourselves. It takes a keen eye and careful self-evaluation to remove any inclusions that will mar the beautiful diamond we possess in all of us. Each one of us is shaped into a distinctive cut of stone, giving way to different grades of clarity and color, making us rare, valuable, and uniquely our own. Frederick Douglass and Barbara Ehrenreich are two individuals who lived in different time periods; however, both individuals used their personal struggles to inspire change in the hearts of others. Just as I use my struggle as a tool to chip away the imperfections in my life, Frederick and Barbara used their experiences to chip away the fallacies of our nation. Personal challenges encourage me to grow as an individual and make better choices for a brighter future.
What stands between everyday people and overcoming fear? When fear is discussed in this text is means everyday fears that limit us from accomplishing goals (long and short term) and/or dreams in life. As humans we are holding back our full potential with the chance of failure. Usually humans do not have all pieces, or have them in the right order. Maybe is our lack of emphasis in everyday situations. Maybe it’s “the amygdalae, organs in the limbic system, detect such possibilities and send the signals which generate the fear emotion” (Effective Mind Control). Sometimes its not even our fault it is just our brains protecting us. Everyday millions of people wake up afraid to with a fear of something; everyone has one they
