Every Sunday, people participate in mass, in which they listen to readings of the bible, speeches of the priest, and participate in Communion. In these churches, the type of seating provided are either pews, chairs, or auditorium seating. In today’s society, most churches use pews, which are long wooden benches (Kosloski 4). Established churches have plenty of seats; however lesser known churches struggle to obtain enough permanent seating for its members. This recommendation report examines the problem of the lack of seats currently present in Our Lady of Vietnam Parish Church. My personal experience with the lack of seats is an indicator of how other church members feel. Especially on special church events, there is a massive overcrowding of people, which deters the experience of the church. Because Our Lady of Vietnam Parish is done in Vietnamese, a conglomerate of Vietnamese Catholics gathers here, and there is an overpopulation of people compared to the amount of people the facility can hold. As a result, people who come later than others must stand for the entire Sunday mass. In addition, there are photographic evidence that overcrowding still exists to this day (Appendix C). Due to the growing population of the community, I will be recommending some changes that need to be done to the current seating arrangement. In deciding options, consideration of cost, time, and available resources is important. The cost must not be too expensive in order to make these changes plausible, the time must be fast and efficient because Sunday Mass should still be held every week (process should be done in a week), and the resources the church determines the limitations of what can be
