“Psychology helps to measure the probability that an aim is attainable” (Thorndike, 2015). When someone takes a class about psychology they can learn things they can use in everyday life. This psychology course I took taught me many things I can use toward my life and my future career. I plan to continue my education after high school, and go to college for a business degree. Some people may not associate psychology with business, but ever since I have learned about psychology I realized some things do relate between business and psychology. A lot of people become influenced by watching others. Observational learning is “learning by watching other people, or being influenced by them in other ways” (Jenkins, 2014).Observational learning is important in terms of practical application to my life, because the things I do can influence someone else and things other people do may influence me. When I am around people, especially someone younger, my actions my reflect how they react to things. For example, if I spilled a cup of coffee then started yelling and getting angry, it could cause the person watching my actions to react in similar ways. Motivation can be described as “”the need or desire to do something” (Jenkins, 2014). Motivation is a big factor because it helps people perform everyday tasks or decisions. I use motivation everyday to work on homework and exercise. Without motivation I wouldn 't feel the need to get anything done. I would put everything off and never finish a task. There are many theories about how people view motivation. Two of those theories are evolutionary perspective and drive reduction theory. Evolutionary perspective involves people doing tasks or behaviors based on their instincts. This could mean that I do things because it 's my instincts and not because I feel the need to get things done for other reasons. Drive reduction theory means that a drive compels someone to reduce a need. When it 's late at night my drive may be tiredness so I reduce the need by going to bed. I feel the drive reduction theory applies more about my need for motivation. My future career would also rely on motivation. I would need the motivation every morning to wake up and get out of bed to get ready. Then I would need the motivation to actually go to work to get things done. Without the motivation I would have never gone out to get a job because I wouldn 't feel the need to. People must be motivated to get things done to have a fulfilling
I sense that there is an importance to learn the various aspects of our minds and how it works to navigate through our information rich environment and to embrace the similarities and differences that we have. I personally hope that psychology will help me understand my place in this world and how, with the knowledge I have acquired to the study of psychology, help make the world an easier place to live in. There has been too many a time where we humans have made uneducated decisions that affected the lives of other people and regret to tell the tale. I wish that each and every individual will have the chance to learn psychology to further understand our thoughts and behavior because, with psychology, we have a greater chance to mold a better future for the next
Albert Bandura, born December 4, 1925 (Bandura 2013), is a very well known theorists in the world of psychology. A professor at Stanford University for much of his career, from 1953 until 2010, he has been recognized many times in this field (Bandura). His awards include, but are not limited to: the Lifetime Achievement award from the American Psychological Association, the James McKeen Cattell Award, the Grawemeyer Award and a Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Psychological Association (Olson, & Hergenhahn, 2012). He was also honored with the presidency of the American Psychological Association in 1973 (Olson, & Hergenhahn). Throughout his career he published six books, including Social Learning and Personality Development, and Social Foundations of Thought and Action: A Social Cognitive Theory, and was editor of three additional works which centered around self-efficacy and modeling (Bandura). Though some of his theories have been criticized, they have had a huge impact on our understanding of learning and completely changed the way people looked at learning during his time.

Motivation is the energy that makes us do things: this is a result of our individual needs being satisfied so that we have inspiration to complete the mission. Motivation is concerned with why people do things as well as what drives them to act in a particular way. Understanding what motivates an individual is important in a workplace. Motivated employees are happier at work. They get more satisfaction from their work, they are absent less frequently, and work with more enthusiasm. This encourages them to contribute more, hence increasing the productivity in the organization. As an industrial and organizational psychologist, I see myself incorporating all three. I want to master the skill of improving processes, implement training and development programs, and successfully employ psychological practices to enhance employee motivation. Naturally, my education must precede anything else that I do. But learning in psychology is not cookie-cutter simple. We operate in a flood of information and even our best evidence evolves daily.

People act in a whole new manner when they are motivated by something. Motivation gives them a whole new perception of the task at hand. Motivation is not always positive though, and it does not always just come from one place, for example, your boss. Motivation can be negative by not receiving something, and contrary to popular belief it is not always money that motivates people to do what they do. People have different needs, wants, and desires and the finding what is most important to those individuals is the key to motivation. People and companies have used countless techniques and approaches to motivate others and employees, but what works for one person does not necessarily work for the other.
Introduction Learning involves a relatively permanent change in behavior due to experience. The function of morality is to provide behavioral guidelines to individuals. As such, the concept of morality involves moral conduct, moral reasoning, and moral emotions. Through the psychology of learning, teachers can teach children good morals and behavior through observation, whereby the students learn by watching, listening, touching, and smelling. Therefore, learning happens through motivation, reproduction, retention, and attention whereby the teacher acts as a role model to the children by demonstrating the preferable behavior (Nucci, Krettenauer & Narváez, 2008).
My interest in Industrial Organizational Psychology started with my passion towards psychology itself. The thing that attracts me the most about psychology is the many different aspects of human behavior there are and how we as humans think. While in high school, my attraction to psychology grew even further when I began using my knowledge about psychology towards helping my friends. For example, many friends would approach me with issues that they had in which I felt, that I was able to support them because of the things I knew about psychology at the time, which was to listen to people and try to advise them into doing the correct decisions on their own. Based on this, I decided to find out further information on psychology and decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in psychology.
Observational learning is a significant element of human learning. According to Bandura's social cognitive learning theory, there are four stages in observational learning: attention, memory, motor and motivation. Observational learning is when one learns new information by watching the behaviors by observing the behaviors of others. For observational learning to happen, the observer must pay close attention to the action that is being performed, then be able to record the observed behavior and be able to imitate the behavior that was performed.
