How is it that a nation so obsessed with counting calories, cutting back carbs, and going on diets is so incredibly overweight? The United States is by far the heaviest country in the world. Almost two thirds of Americans are overweight and one third are obese (“Statistics…”). That’s a lot of fatties in a land of 281,421,906 people (“Question…”). On the surface, it’s simply bewildering as to why America is in such a state because this country is made of people from the rest of the world. However, eastern and western Europeans, Asians, Africans, South Americans, and Australians aren’t faced with even half the number of weight-related health issues that Americans encounter every day. Other countries aren’t nearly as overweight as America: 5% of people in France are considered overweight or obese (“ObEpi 2003:…”), in Germany less than half of the population is overweight and only 11% obese (“Quickfacts…”), in Japan about 20% are considered overweight (“Criteria…”) and in England, 20 percent are overweight (“Tackling…”). So why are Americans so large? I can think of a number of reasons as to why this is the case. First and foremost, Americans care too much about too many unimportant things. They care so much about swim suits, fitted clothes, and losing weight to look good, that they lose sight of the real problem, their health. Fad diet followers are faced with a tough realization that they are no better off than before they started Atkins, South Beach, what-have-you, and oftentimes their packing more pounds than in the beginning. The Spirit helps us implore (Romans 8:26-27). He gives us new life (John 3:3-6). He is our consoler, and he helps us comprehend God's statement (John 14:26). He lifts up Christ (John 15:26). He convicts us of wrongdoing (John 16:7-11). He helps us to live holy lives (Romans 15:16). He gives us love, happiness, peace, tolerance, thoughtfulness, goodness, faithfulness, tenderness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). He helps us share our confidence (Acts 1:8). What's more, he lives inside us (Romans

Studies have linked obesity to many things from ear infections, to pollution, to air-conditioning, to socializing with obese people. The reason Americans are obese is because of the increasing luxury available to them. Obesity is a rising problem in the United States, and with all the privileges given to its citizens, the country has become increasingly lazy. With portion sizes rising and physical activity decreasing, it is easy to see how obesity rates have skyrocketed.
In the UK as well as in other developed countries, obesity is becoming a growing problem this puts pressure on health services and affects individuals’ ability to work, and contribute to the economy. The government feels the pressure to act by taxing unhealthy foods and drinks, and by setting up educational campaigns, (Stephen Adams, 2011).
"I put my mind on Christ and try to listen and obey the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:5), the Holy Spirit will give me life and peace (Romans 8:6). If a man is a Christian, he has the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9). His spirit has been made alive (Romans 8:10) The Holy Spirit is giving life back to his body, bringing it back from the deadness of sin (Romans 8:11) and bring abundant new life in Christ."(Graham)
In order for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within the hearts of Christians to be a reality, however, Christians must not be outside of Christ. This means that they must have faith before they can receive the Holy Spirit. One could consider this appropriate because Christ and the Holy Spirit, aside from the fact that they are of the same substance, share many of the same roles. Both are mediators, teachers, and intercessors. The Holy Spirit alone has many other names, including: fire, water, spirit of adoption, and others. In addition to this, the main work of the Spirit is faith, in that the Spirit serves as the Christian’s teacher and reminder of God’s
The Divine or Holy Spirit is the third Person of God’s trinity who exercises the power of the Father and the Son in creation and redemption. The Holy Spirit is the power by which believers come to Christ and begin to see with their new eyes from faith. He is closer to us (mankind) than we may be to each other. The Holy Spirit appears in the Gospel of John as the power by which Christians are brought to faith. He helps them to understand their walk with God.
The Holy Spirit will never leave or forsake us, it helps believers understand Christ’s teachings and it gives us the fruits of the Spirit. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, Jesus came down from Heaven. this is one of the major beliefs stated in the Nicene Creed. The actual quote states: “By the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.” This is significant to Catholic’s because Jesus was the first and only God on Earth. Additionally, the Holy Spirit is a guide throughout life, it is a pure spirit and it will never leave or forsake use, as it will assist us to understand Christ’s
The gifts of the Holy Spirit were not something that were discussed a lot within my church as I was growing up. I feel like I do not know much about the gifts and therefore decided that this would be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the gifts that people receive from the Holy Spirit. I also feel like people are better able to serve if they know what their gifts are and how God wants people to use the gifts that he has blessed them with. There are many gifts referred to throughout the bible, but, some of them are thought to have disappeared and not be used in today’s age. The Holy Spirit came to help us through our Christian walk when Christ left the earth (Pierson 14).
The following statistic helps to depict the current situation in regards to obesity levels in the UK. According to The Health Survey for England: Adult Reference Tables (1997, cited in The Department of Health) “Obesity has risen dramatically over the last five years - 17 per cent of men are now obese, compared with 13 per cent in 1993, and almost 20 per cent of women are now obese compared with 16 per cent in 1993.

The Holy Spirit is often time defined as the comforter or helper. The Holy Spirit is conveyed as a presence not a mystical being. When I think of the Holy Spirit I see him as not only my comforter or helper but also the one who completes the trinity. The trinity is the divine manifestation of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has strong emotions for us believers. One way the Holy Spirit reacts to us rejecting his help against sin or simply rebelling is by him being grieved. Ephesians 4:30 reads “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” The sins we commit brings mourning to the Holy Spirit.
It was the Holy Spirit that moved upon the face of the waters, dwelled upon men in the Old Testament, rest upon Jesus during his baptism, and at Pentecost engulfed the believers. The Holy Spirit stands as an element of the Trinity incorporating significant attributes of God as it dwells in the life of the believer. It is through the Holy Spirit that the ‘whole nation of Israel’ and essentially the church received the promise in the new covenant. There are two essential and significant aspects of the Day of Pentecost, which includes the Great Commission and the inauguration of the Church
