Base on the medium, I feel that the main message is about how students can archive a healthier life, providing some reason to reflect on why students don’t make healthy choices and the danger on eating unhealthy food.
2. What do you think is the intended audience for this medium?
By just looking to the poster I’m not sure who the intended audience is, but if I read the title I would guess is for freshmen students that want to prevent or lose weight.

I think some effective aspect of this communication medium
Learning about what the different nutrients do for the human body have motivated Susanne to incorporate those nutrients into her diet. Susanne used to be someone that chose food to lose weight. Now, she is trying to make smart food choices to be healthy. She now understands that it is more important to be healthy than to be skinny. Susanne has an elevated risk for diabetes due to family history. Because this is a factor she cannot change, she understands her food choices and exercise are more important for her daily health maintenance than it might be for someone
Nutritionism and Today’s Diet Nutritionism is the ideology that the nutritional value of a food is the sum of all its individual nutrients, vitamins, and other components. In the book, “In Defense of Food” by Michael Pollan, he critiques scientists and government recommendations about their nutritional advice. Pollan presents a strong case pointing out the many flaws and problems that have risen over the years of following scientific studies and government related warnings on the proper amount of nutrients needed for a healthy diet. Pollan’s main point is introducing science into our food system has had more of a negative impact than a positive one, we should go back to eating more of a traditional diet. I believe food science has given us

This lifestyle also taught me to eat healthy and clean food. It motivated me to work out consistently. It influenced me to be consistent. As a result, I can sense that I am becoming healthier and healthier day by day.
II. (Topic justification introduce topic establish controversy): Communication happens every day through phone calls, emails, text message and face to face interaction. Effective communication allows people to send and receive information and ideas from one another clearly, efficiently while still being convenient.
Communication involves the exchange of messages and is a process which all individuals participate in. Whether it is through spoken word, written word, non-verbal means or even silence, messages are constantly being exchanged between individuals or groups of people (Bach & Grant 2009). All behaviour has a message and communication is a process which individuals cannot avoid being involved with (Ellis et al 1995).
Nutritionism is an ideology that believes that the nutrients in foods are the key to understanding them. Nutritionism believers are so focused on the nutrients that food contains that they forget about all other aspects of food. The problem is that consumers rely on packaging to tell them what nutrients a food provides, since nutrients cannot be obviously seen, and they rely on science to tell us what nutrients are good and which are “evil”.
...urture is the concept of our environment, but more importantly it is about self-control. Unhealthy eating habits do not just materialize overnight; these behaviors are learned. This course has allowed me to put into perspective how that donut today could effect tomorrow. Being a millennial, as my generation is known, has put the youth of today at a major disadvantage. We are accustomed to having everything instantaneously. We need to educate ourselves about the dangers of our “me first, me now” detriment. This course has given me a wonderful insight as to how to not only understand the disease process, but also remedy this process before irreparable damage may occur. I’ve also been able to see that anything is possible with the right support system in place. It is very important to believe in the power of my ability to make positive and lasting changes in my life.
Communication is essential in education, training and everyday life. It's a means by which a thought is transferred from one person to another. Effective communication occurs when the intended meaning of the source and the perceived meaning of the receiver are virtually the same, Schemerhorn (2005).

Effective communication takes place if the chosen method works correctly for the situation the business and the receiver are in. For example, Ikea may not choose to advertise on the television that they have a product in stock which one customer was asking after because it is not guaranteed that the customer will watch that particular channel, so the best way to inform them is by phoning them directly to ensure that they have received the message clearly.
