What I like most about studying nursing is getting to make a difference in someone life. I enjoy the challenge of studying nursing and trying to understand people and how to make them happy.
My determination to become a nurse was from my aunty, who was a nurse in the local hospital. I always admired her the way she cared about people and takes care of them and do all she can to save their lives. At the age of 15 I was doing a voluntary job at the hospital where there was an accident and many people were injured and some were badly injured, and I helped saved the lives of those who survived the accident. It felt so good saving someone’s life and I was proud of myself, ever since that day I knew I wanted to be a nurse. The BTEC coursework involves a lot of independent reading, practical, research and presentations. These are skills that I have worked on in my first year and I believe they will prove invaluable in studying at degree level. In doing a medical science course I have learn about the physiology of the human body system which includes the disorder of the musculoskeletal system, the lymphatic system and physiology of the digestive system. This knowledge has helped me to understand the diseases, such as diabetes, arthritis and heart problems.
