From 2011 and onward, my family had fallen into bankruptcy for paying out of pocket for my older brother’s medical expenses and surgery costs due to his diagnosis of heart failure. In 2013, when I took the standardized ACT exam two times, I scored both times an 18 which was below my university’s 2014 entering freshmen class’s composite score average of 24.5 (copy of score report is attached). Furthermore, upon taking the LSAT two times with over four months of self-studying for the September exam, I scored first a 141, and a 140 on my last attempt. When taking both examinations, I have not been able to afford tutoring pertaining to the exams or a preparation course. Although I have worked numerous jobs during the past few years in college,
I have only managed to afford food, water, and to pay rent since my parents were and are still unable to assist in paying my college expenses. I believe that my grades in conjunction with my leadership, activism, and service are more representative of my abilities to thrive in law school. Although my grade point average is a 3.41, I have been able to balance working three jobs assisting over eighty students through tutoring, teaching and mentoring, taking on numerous challenging upper division courses, while remaining socially and politically active on campus, upholding my role as president of two active organizations. During spring semester of 2017, alone, I earned a 3.6 gpa while taking ten courses, traveled to two conferences to present undergraduate research, worked part time, successfully campaigned for a student government position, and built homes abroad in Nigeria for two weeks. My success as a student has been in part due to the knowledge I retained in classes and imparted to my campus community through involvement. I do ask for you to consider all that I have been able to achieve while attending college and to see them as the best indicator of my abilities to thrive in law school. Thank you for your consideration of this statement.
The stimulation we had to do for class focused on a piece of land in Cleveland OH that once belonged to a nuclear factory. This land consisted of 4 acres in the north-central section of Ward 12, and adjacent to ward 3. The allotment is positioned closely to many low-income segments of the South Broadway neighborhood. The goal was to come up with an idea on what should replace the decommissioned factory and create the biggest benefit for the community.
The human body is everything that makes up, well, you. The basic parts of the human body are the head, neck, torso, arms, and legs. Our bodies consist of a number of biological systems that carry out specific functions necessary for everyday living. The following paragraphs are going to explain the functions of two different body systems.
So after dinner, I went and grabbed my laptop to search for a cheaper alternative. Wake Tech Community College appeared in the search results and I started looking at the financial aid section. I soon discovered that there are several options that will work with our family’s budget. At this point, I became very excited and yelled down the hallway “Daddy!” he walks in my room and I say “go get your 1040 forms, I am eligible for financial aid at WTCC and I can stay home with you.” He shouted “this is the best news ever” while he ran to grab the forms. We then got started right away on the long list of
There are so many reasons that lead me to chose this particular topic.I have been following the MMA for couple years , and also I am comfortable with sports platforms.
Lucky was a very interesting film, one of my favorites so far, this semester. Sitting in the audience and hearing all the laughs and how full the theater was proved it. Lucky reminded me so much of my grandpa in an oddly manner, it was as if I was hearing my grandpa but the oddness was that my grandpa doesn’t speak English. I think what made me have more of that connection to my grandpa was that in Mexico my grandpa lived in the outside of the small town. And he two was isolated and away from everyone, he would do the same routine every day until his last day just like Lucky. I think that something the director and writer did an excellent job at was that they added the Mexican regional music and some conversations in Spanish, that
One of these reason's is that I love helping people and the server out. When I can make someone happy, it's not only making them happy, but me as well. Helping just comes natural to me and I don't really know why. I've been like that as a kid too. I wouldn't say I'm a brainiac in school but I excel in my classes. But when someone needs tutoring or help, I'm always the first one to say "I will." And the same applies for Minecraft. Another reason why I decided to apply today is because, I love Faithful's community and server as a whole. MaverickYT introduced me to this great and supporting community. You know some HCF server's, people can be not as nice as they could be. And people on this server, think differently. I don't know what makes the people on here above any other server. My last and final reason is that, the community is starting to become toxic. It's not completely toxic, I'm just saying it's starting to get there. Even though there are some really nice and giving people on Faithful, there is always a bad part to all things. And I really want to fix this. Me being able to help out and try to bring positivity to the server, is what I've been trying to do forever. And me being a staff member can maybe get my word out there. Thank you for letting me apply for staff. And I hope to see some
1.“If, for example, students were not ultimately rewarded for spending their early adulthoods pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees, or if the hardest-working and most productive workers were paid the same as the median worker, then citizens would have little incentive to develop expertise, to exert effort, or to excel in their work.”

My name is Valorie M Altamirano, and I am a Central Arizona College graduate with an Associate degree in Fire Science Technology. Unfortunately, my degree does not meet the liberal study requirements to seek a Bachelor's degree. In order to achieve my goals, it is necessary that I complete seven General Study courses. The hold-up for continuing my education is unemployment, ineligibility for a Pell grant and a hold for a $252 charge that will prevent future
A. Topic sentence. The school has an important role to develop a critical and conscientious the individual as a citizen.
The abysmal completion rate I’ve begun this year with is the result of my failed year of college in 2001. To be short, I earned eight F grades in two semesters. I was obviously not prepared enough to succeed with
I took the ACT when I was junior in high school. I have anxiety disorder and have struggled with reading my whole life. This test was not my friend. In many ways it broke down my confidence and made me believe that I could not do great things because all that colleges looked at was a number to determine how well I would do in college. I received my score of a 20 which I was happy with given the circumstances. During my sophomore year in college, I realized that this score was not good enough. I needed at least a 23 to be accepted into the teaching program. Keep in mind that I have been in college two year and have a 3.75 GPA. But I still had to retake this test that has haunted me throughout my academic career. I retook the ACT and received a score of 24, which I am extremely proud of. Here the catch though, my reading score still wasn’t at college readiness according to the ACT. They suggested that before I go to college I should brush up on my reading skills. Little did they know I was in college and was doing just fine with my reading. Getting back to the point, that test determined a lot for my future and gave me an unclear picture of myself and what
When I took the ACT for the first time I made a 15, it was very hard and I became discouraged. I studied consistently outside of school and work. I felt that I was ready to take it again so I signed up, I was very confident about the test. When the scores returned, I was very disappointed, My test score was a 16. Last year, Every junior in the state was required to take the test at no charge because it was given by the school. I decided to study as much as possible and take it then instead of signing up and having to pay. I prepared myself daily. I took online courses, purchased ACT books, and asked for time away from work. I went in with the positive mindset in which my mom pushed me to maintain. I was very anxious afterwards. When my scores came back, I was very pleased. I made a 20 on the ACT! My mom was very proud of me and I tried so hard to make her proud and I continue to do so today. I ended the year with a 3.7 GPA and a 20 on my last ACT. Before my senior year began, I had already been accepted to one college. I aim to set an example for my little sister and anyone else who looks up to
There was no one there to guide me, and I did not know anyone else who I could rely on for accurate information. Unfortunately, I was not able to acquire those honors classes because there was an exam to get in the class that I was unaware of, but my counselor advised me to wait until my sophomore year. While I was in my math class, my teacher spent a whole period talking to us through the dual enrollment process. As I filled out the required information on the website and the forms, I had not realized that a social security number was needed. A tinge of shame and sadness hit me. It was something I had no control over; it was discouraging. I accepted that dual enrollment was something that I was unable to do at the time. I took AP classes instead; taking what I knew I could handle while also keeping up with
I did not fail any of my classes and instead received good grades for my perseverance. As an immigrant to a new country, my greatest barrier is English. Consequently, I had to go to tutoring and work three times more than native English speaking students. But despite the frustrations, I never allowed myself to give up. I never stopped striving for excellence. I worked very hard and took advantage of extra credit opportunities, even though I was already earning a good grade in the course. My short-term academic goals are graduating from Cosumnes River College in Spring 2019 with an Associate of Science degree. I plan to start my bachelor degree next fall at CSU, Sacramento and graduate in spring 2022. I am motivated to succeed because my degree is not only for me but also the epitome of how far my family has
