Every person I have asked said they would relive their time at college without a doubt because it was a time where they learned from their mistakes which made them the person they are today. At Notre Dame, there are many events to attend like their infamous football games or residential hall competitions, so there are many ways I can make mistakes and learn from them while I am away from home. Education has been a part of my life for the past fourteen years, and I am only seventeen so more than eighty percent of my life has been surrounded by schooling. However, my family has been with me for all those seventeen years and will continue to be with me many more years because a family never leaves anyone behind or forgotten. I see my family every week for family dinner, so there is no point in running away because I will still see them.
Hopefully, I am able to find a second family at the University of Notre Dame. My family at Notre Dame would guide me through college, be an emotional support, and the presence of them just makes my day. Even though I prioritize the idea of family, I also want to explore the world independently to become a stronger person and learn my way through adulthood. Education is important and a gracious privilege to have, but there is nothing I would not drop in order to be with my loving
...history, and the great tradition that everyone talks about. I went to Elders library and looked for books about Notre Dame, there I stumbled upon a book called “A Hundred Years”. The book was about the first hundred years of the Universities existence, and all of the Deans. I read through a couple pages and i was very intrigued. It was a book comprised of how the tradition began, and letters from every dean talking about the University and changes that needed to be made.

An author’s way of writing and portraying a character are one of the important things to note when reading a novel. Whether they use third or first person as their view point, have their main character have an underlying dark secret that is not revealed until the end of the novel. However an author wishes to write their novel, there is always a drawback to it. Kazuo Ishiguro’s way of writing his novel Never Let Me Go is in a first person perspective where the narrator, Kathy H., reassess her life of being a clone but the way Kathy remembers and discusses her memories of living in Hailsham is hindered by the fact she inputs her own feelings and thoughts into what happened in the past.
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines jayhawk as, “a fictitious bird with a large beak used as an emblem in Kansas” (“Jayhawk”). Even though some people may say that the Jayhawk is not resemble a good role model, the jayhawk should be inducted into the mascot hall of fame because he makes an impact in the community, he has a fun and unique design, the jayhawk has an impact on his sport, and he performs memorably and groundbreaking performances.
National Honor Society is an awesome organization that is made up of the best academic upperclassman in the school. I think a big part of the NHS is community service and a big project that I know our NHS does is the blood drive, which helps people and could even save lives. At LWHS there are some great opportunities to be a better person and serve the community and I have another way to make that happen.
Mary Wollstonecraft, a women’s rights advocate in the year 1792 summed it up perfectly when she said, “I do not wish them [women] to have power over men; but over themselves.” She is describing the fight within every woman in the Feminist Movement that began in the 1700’s and extended throughout the late 20th century. This powerful motion was a drive to address the debated issues of reproductive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, women’s suffrage, sexual harassment, and sexual violence. As time has passed, feminists have pushed extremely hard to gain equal rights and respect from their male counterparts. Unfortunately in today’s world, society still puts an emphasis on a women’s exterior beauty. They emphasize it in magazines, television commercials, and even the infamous beauty pageant. The industry of beauty pageants is growing rapidly, jeopardizing the continuous work of many women’s rights advocates, throwing away the continuing efforts for equal rights (Miss America, 2011).
Throughout my first year in middle school I have really started taking great thought into my future. I have realized that I am getting closer to my adult life and that I need to start to plan for the type of future that I wish to have. As much as I enjoy team activities, I do think of myself as more of a leader and would like to go about planning my career in this way. I am determined to go about things at an advanced pace which is why I believe I should be part of the National Junior Honor Society.

Many years ago I remember my parents telling me that in order for me to become successful a college education was a must. They always told me that if I wasn’t in school I could no longer live at home. Both of my parents attended college but neither of them finished. They did not want me to go down that same road because they really regret not getting their degrees.
After graduation, I planned to relocate back to St. Louis, MO. Also, I planned to further my education, by getting my Master’s Degree at the University of Missouri St. Louis. After receiving my degree, I want to find a career in Child Welfare. In conclusion, I want to live happily ever after with a husband, a few kids, and an amazing career.

Family has always been a great part of my life, and I wish to be a loving husband and parent. I am also looking forward to raising my children in the Catholic faith.
