...my best self, both in and out of the classroom. Equipped with Bachelor of Science in Nursing from LSUHSC, I will dedicate my life and career to fulfilling my role as a leader in health care delivery and strive to continually learn and grow in the field of nursing. I will use my core professional values to represent compassion, respect, integrity and excellence at all times because I understand that a holistic treatment is imperative in effectively healing all individuals. I will take the knowledge I gain at LSUHSC School of Nursing, as well as my own personal experiences, and apply it each and every day to all patients in my care. The field of nursing is my calling and as both a student and graduate of LSUHSC School of Nursing, I will give myself wholeheartedly to the study and practice of nursing while embodying the mission and vision of LSUHSC School of Nursing.
Clark Atlanta University will teach me how to become a better listener, show commitment, and have a positive attitude. Having the ability to be a great listener is a way that I can communicate my ideas and concerns to others. By having a positive attitude, you will achieve positive results. I strongly believe that Clark’s mission statement best defines my attributes as a future leader. The purpose of the mission statement is to prepare a diverse community of leaders to excel in their chosen endeavors and to become responsible, productive and innovative citizen leaders, locally and globally.
The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. In addition to my interest in the academics the school has to offer, I also marvel at the amount of extracurricular activities available to the student body. One student organization in particular is the Greek Life. When my mother attended this school, she was an avid member
The University Of Pennsylvania continues to be an excellent school where individuals from various countries can come to strive in their desired career. I always had an interest in this college, and I would be honored to be a student here. I know the University of Pennsylvania will help me so that I may achieve my goal in becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. If I am accepted to this school, a dream of mine would come true, and I will show thanks by excelling in my academic
Ever since I was a little girl, my motivation to pursue a career in the medical field was evident. While other children my age watched Cartoon Network, I found more value in shows like ‘Trauma: Life in the ER’ and ‘A Baby Story.’ It wasn’t until high school that I decided I would become a nurse, specifically. I cannot say that I had a revelation or a particular experience that swayed my decision. However, ever since I began pursuing the career of nursing, I discover each and every subsequent day that it is what I was put on this earth to do.
I wish to become a woman of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., because of the strong sisterhood this sorority displays. Through my mentors I’ve seen the true sisterhood that Zeta Phi Beta has. I come from family of all males so I feel that I’ve never had women to truly call my sisters. Having sister has always been a dream of mine. I also love the work in the community that this sorority does. Community service is very dear to my heart so the fact that this sorority does so much of that amazes me. I know that Zeta Phi Beta has made a difference in many people’s lives, and nothing would make me happier than to be a part of that.
“Nurses don’t wait until October to celebrate Make a Difference Day — they make a difference every day”, explains an unknown author. My main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an innate desire to help people and care for them in times of need. I am also a person who thrives on being challenged and I always have new goals to achieve, so nursing suits me as few other careers offer as much diversity and learning opportunities so, attending Virginia Commonwealth University is something that has been my desire for the longest. The intentions that I have for when I become a nurse practitioner are to aid and care for the sick, as well as I am able but also to assist doctors and staff as well as I am capable.
One of the first steps in developing an organization is to develop the vision, mission and philosophy of the organization. Vision statements are used to define the goals of an organization. The mission statement of an organization is a brief statement that explains the purpose that an organization exists. The organizational philosophy outlines the set of values and beliefs that controls the operations of an organization (Marquis, 2011). UMC’s vision is “to be nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, medical education, and biomedical research.” Their mission statement is “to serve through healing, education, and discovery.” The philosophy of UMC is “to value integrity, excellence, compassion, innovation, collaboration and dedication.” (www.mc.uky.edu)
The NLN’s purpose is to promote excellence in nursing education (Mason, Gardner, Outlaw, & O’Grady, 2016). Good education is the foundation of stronger
An organization’s mission, vision, and philosophy determine the goals the company seeks to achieve and describes the structures used to reach objectives. The mission statement speaks to the relationship the organization has with the community by linking its actions to the people it serves. The vision statement gives details of the organization’s purpose and values to employees and customers. The philosophy defines principles and overall beliefs that guide the organization in reaching its goals (Current Nursing, n.d.). For this paper, I will describe the mission and vision statements of my organization, discuss how my role supports the mission, discuss pros and cons of the nursing department’s structure, and give examples of how nursing could
