The history of Nintendo goes all the way back to 1889 when it manufactured hanafuda
(flower cards) and was owned by Fusajiro Yamauchi in Kyoto, Japan. He then started making
the first western-style playing cards in 1902 in Japan. They were supposed to be mainly for
export, but they became very popular in Japan and most of the world. This was when it was
called Yamauchi Nintendo & Co. Flash forward to 1950, when Hiroshi Yamauchi became
president of Yamauchi Nintendo & Co. . One year later the name was changed to Nintendo
Playing Card Co., Ltd. . In 1959, they started making playing cards with Walt Disney characters,
which resulted in a boom in the playing card industry. Once again , they changed their name to
Nintendo Co.,Ltd.

those consoles were named “TV game15” and
“TV game 6”. Then, in the year 1980, nintendo released the first game of many to come, they
released ball. A game & watch game where you juggled balls on a small plastic screen. One
year later, they released the classic known as donkey kong in arcades and the first appearance of
Mario “Jumpman” Mario, the future mascote of the Nintendo company. Later, in 1984, Nintendo released the family computer (Famicom), later renamed the NES (Nintendo Entertainment
System), in Japan. This Nintendo console bring with some of the best games of the century,in my
opinion, game titles that have been around for decades like Super Mario Bros, The Legend Of
Zelda, Metroid, Megaman, Punch Out, Pitfall etc. I have personally played and enjoyed this
library of games myself. The next instalment in the Nintendo franchise was the gameboy which
came with tetris in 1989. it became an instant hit, selling over 150 million copies worldwide.
The Super Famicom (Super Nintendo Entertainment System or SNES) had its debut in 1991
and was a hit worldwide. It was the newest and coolest console ever, until the N64(Nintendo

The Game boys successor the Game
Boy color was released in 1998. The next in line was the Gamecube in 2001. It wasn’t the best
Nintendo console, but it had some good games and better graphics than the N64. In 2003, the
Game boy advanced sp came out. I have this console and love it because it was the best Game
boy in every way. It had a backlight, better graphics, a rechargeable battery (Older Game boys
ran on AA batteries and didn’t last very long) and great games. Later on in 2005 and 2006 the
DS and DS lite were released and contained a barrage of new features like a touch screen, wifi
compatibility , and a power saving mode. At the end of 2006, the Wii was released around the
world being Nintendo's latest console with games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Legend of
Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, etc. . The successor to the DS, the DSi came
into play
in 2009. Nintendo later decided to release the DSi XL, which was just a larger DSi. Two years
later in 2011, they released the 3DS. Not only did it have better graphics, games, and sound,

Old games were fun because the way they made the old games like GameCube was a system that you could play two players and it comes with many games you could play. And the old system controllers were more nice and they feel better. The new games have many thing on the controllers. The old ones have a little of stuff on the controllers. I think the main thing that sucks about the new games is that you need to pay to play.
Ryan McNally Dr. Tara Causey ENGL 1101 30 November 2017 Super Mario 64: The Game changer Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64, created by the Nintendo corporation, was one of the most influential on the gaming industry and the gaming community. The release of Super Mario 64 had a huge impact on the gaming world. It changed how the gaming industry and community viewed video games.
To be totally honest I still play “Pac – man” because it is so fun and addicting even “classic video games pg.18” says “Pac-man was played by so many people it was soon mastered and found to have a glitch” and for extra proof the article “history of video games” says Namco releases Pac-Man, the most popular arcade game of all time. Over 300,000 units are sold

The Xbox 360 on the other hand was one of Microsoft’s best consoles. I myself own one and it has never let me down, it has apps so you can watch videos and the games are fantastic, the graphics are superb. I honestly have nothing wrong with it myself I am sure dedicated fans can find many flaws in the Xbox 360 console. It can’t only just play video games but it can also play your dvd’s which is a great feature. This was by far Microsoft’s best release.
In the console-gaming world people know Sony and Nintendo. Microsoft may be the largest and richest software company in the world, but it’s unknown when it comes to console gaming. Microsoft is counting on the Xbox to change that perception. Gamers may not be willing to take a chance with the Microsoft Xbox, even if it is far superior to any console ever made. Nintendo Gamecube is nothing if charismatic. Nintendo’s new machine is half the size of any other console and looks like a toy with its brightly colored plastic shell and handle. It’s destined to be home of such popular games as Mario, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, and Kirby. Nintendo Gamecube seems mismatched as it goes up against the Microsoft Xbox and the Sony Playstation 2 (a multimedia mayhem that Sony says it’s supposed to be “The Future Of Entertainment”). All this makes you think; what makes Nintendo believe it can possibly go up against the ultra-sophisticated Xbox.
Video games started as arcade machines with simple graphics and even simpler stories, soon evolving into home gaming with The Magnavox Odyssey, the world’s first home-gaming console. It invaded living rooms in 1972, selling 300,000 units. Since then there has been many consoles and games released, some have been huge commercial successes which
To conclude, Nintendo’s core competencies are: create video games that cost the people less as it did with Wii, it depends more on innovations and creativity instead of advanced technology, and it targets new segments of people such as; the elderly and women. The company has to worry about two main things. The first one is that the firm should create some video games with technology and graphics to attract people who like technology. The second thing is that the company should open stores that only sell Nintendo's games to give more choices for people who like its games. These two ways could help Nintendo to increase its sales and its profits.
One example of a great RPG is Final Fantasy VII. The game came out in the late 90’s. It was popular in both Japan and America. Engulfing players across multiple consoles and PC’s in an in-depth world filled with adventure and fun. Final Fantasy VII changed the way RPG’s are made and revolutionized RPG’s as a whole with its intense in depth story line and its multi-leveling. “FF7 is, without a doubt, the new benchmark for console titles.” (Boor, 1997, para.1).
Video games, specifically home consoles, came to the US on October 18th 1985. The NES. Most games around that time were all bright and cheerful looking games such as Mario, Kirby, Legend Of Zelda, and Pokemon a few years later on the Gameboy. But as other game developers appeared, new types of games were made. The shooter genre and fighting genre of games came mostly on the Xbox and PS systems with a couple exceptions being on a Nintendo console(Doom, Goldeneye, Smash bros). Now shooter games
The wonderful world of Pokémon Pokémon took the world by storm when it was first created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1995. The whole franchise started off as a video game for Game Boy, but expanded to include Manga, anime series, movies, video games, trading and games, and toys. To understand better the popularity of Pokémon, especially in the video game franchise, it is second in the world only to Mario! The Pokémon brand earned $2 Billion in revenues in 2014 alone.
It was bulky and gray. ALthough I saw my mom work on the computer sometimes I did not pay much attention on how to use the mouse and keyboard. But my mom instructed me on how to use the pointer and keyboard and directed me to the pre-installed games. After that time, my parents would occasionally let me play the Lizzie McGuire game or pinball. However, I first
Video games first appeared in the early 1970's. It all started with a simple white ball bouncing back and forth on the screen. In 1986, Nintendo introduced its first line of home video game consoles. With the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) on the market, the home video gaming industry surged and immediately became popular among children. Since then, not only have video games increased in popularity, but there have been vast improvements in graphics, game play, and forms of gaming.
