Around age 6 I remember getting a CD Lizzie McGuire game from a McDonald’s happy meal. Eager to play the game, I asked my mom if I could use the computer to play my CD game. I was never allowed to play on the computer until then. She helped me set up the game by putting it in the drive and allowing the application to run. The family computer at the time was a hewlett packard desktop. It was bulky and gray. ALthough I saw my mom work on the computer sometimes I did not pay much attention on how to use the mouse and keyboard. But my mom instructed me on how to use the pointer and keyboard and directed me to the pre-installed games. After that time, my parents would occasionally let me play the Lizzie McGuire game or pinball. However, I first …show more content…
I would relax my my mind by building my virtual homes on Millsberry or Barbie, collecting jewels on King.com, or chatting on yahoo messenger — possibly audio chatting. I would check my email maybe every 10 minutes or so when on the computer because I would receive and then forward chain emails. Computer use was primarily for games and email messaging. Unless I had a school assignment requireing me to wite an essay, the only writing I did on the computer was for email …show more content…
Not interested enough to create an account I continued to play games on the computer. I made my first social networking site in the 8th grade. I made a facebook that I soon was forced to delete after 3 or 4 months. My parents would periodically log onto my account and see my activity. All i would do on facebook at the time was play farmville and like posts. However, I liked onepost along the lines saying that I hate when my parents tell me to clean my room. Once my parents say this the forced me to delete my account. I maybe did something else to anger them that day too I don’t remember. But thinking back on it, what 12 year old would be in full agreeance with their parents telling them to clean their room? I did not have another FB account until the summer before my first year of college. I made a new FB so i could connect with college friends and be involved in pre college discussion groups for incoming first years. With my first FB account I did not post much; I would just like posts. Now with my current FB I still do the same things. The only thing I’ve posted was two profile pictures. However, I am tagged in things. Also, I still like other peoples posts and comment on them occasionally when I feel like

The works of Jane Austen have a long history of being readapted for modern pop culture consumption. The 1995 movie Clueless sets the plot of Austen’s Emma in a Beverly Hills high school, while Bridget Jones’s Diary, both a book and movie series, brings the love triangle of Pride and Prejudice to present-day London. In 2012, a new medium for adaptation was added to the list when the web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, a retelling of Pride and Prejudice, began airing on YouTube. By the use of pathos conveyed through images, texts and sounds, the series successfully captures the attention of previous Jane Austen fans and introduces a new audience to the timeless
The kids on It List have really helped me. So I don 't get distracted, I actually have an app called "Self-Control" that will make it impossible for you to get on any kind of social media on your computer for however long you say. So I 'll do it for four hours so I can get a break and check everything. But the hardest part is hitting enter--"yes, I want to begin." The four hours of not being on social media. It 's the best thing ever. I wouldn 't get any work done. I used to go to a cafe that didn 't have internet access because it didn 't have internet access. Now that 's where all the writers get stuck. You could do it all day.
I’m running as fast as I can to set the last fire for the trap. I’m beginning to think that I might have a chance of winning the Hunger Games. If this strategy works and kills all or most of the career tributes then this game will be a lot easier to win. I am so glad that I have Katniss as an ally. I miss my family back in district 11 even though it was tough living there I still had a lot of fun with my family. I know I’m safe when I’m with my family and Katniss really gave me that feeling; the feeling of being at home with my family. She makes me feel stronger and less lonely. She helps me escape from the thought of dying in this arena but slowly the thought fades away and I start to feel afraid again. I remember that this is the Hunger Games, not just a random TV show. There is only one winner and it’s either I kill Katniss or she kills me, but I would rather her kill me. She has to take care of so much like her family in district 12. If we had a choice I would let her kill me. I thought to myself, what if I get killed before I even reach the place where I set the fire? What if I get… and before I could even finish what I was thinking my legs were caught in a knot I believe was made out of rope and then a net came down and trapped me. I fall to the ground. I could feel my heart beating as fast as hummingbird’s wings flapping from flower to flower. I tried to call for help but no one answered; I felt so stupid knowing that we were all in a competition when we kill each other to win and I’m asking for help. As the moon passes by I just think about all the happy times I’ve spent with my family and the time I’ve had with Katniss. I laugh and cry while thinking about everything. It seemed like it was just yesterday when I was harves...
We have all heard the Cinderella story or its many variants. A beautiful girl falls into hard times due to the actions of cruel individuals. The girl works and works to try to fix her predicament herself but is ultimately unable. That is, at least, until she meets Mr. Wonderful, the godsend endowed with just the right amount of perfect to make all a helpless girl’s problems go away. The girl is immediately enchanted by Prince Charming and sets out to prove herself to the prince in order to earn his love and, of course, help. The man himself does little to reciprocate the passion that the poor girl displays for him until the girl’s troubles overcome her and the prince heroically rushes off to her aid. The prince marries the girl, now rid of
I unwilllingly walked through the entrance of regret and guilt. With teary eyes from what happened the night before, I didn’t know what I could say. All I thought was ‘It was an accident’ but that didn’t matter anymore.
Hundreds of teens sat around in the blistering sun, full of energy and excitement. It was the homecoming game against Fort Zumwalt West, the score was 7:14, with Troy losing. I looked around me at my fellow classmates, and noticed that some people had little beads of sweat running down their foreheads, while others were sweating gallon buckets every minute. Sitting in a crowd of hot, nasty teens, I began to notice the pungent body odor coming from all around me. Unfortunately for me, the stench was so bad, that I felt as if I could taste it.
I remember when i was younger i used to have a bad attitude and not wanting to be away from my mom for too long besides school. So when she first said something about it i thought she was kidding because of the fact of she knew how i was so after school that day i had got on the boy and girls club bus and it was a lot of people i had personal relationships with and before i realized it everybody was calling my name, shaking my hand and also asking me to be on there team in everything.
...on Facebook under age 18 is an important factor to think about before adding them. Teachers also have to watch which students they add because adding the wrong student could change their whole digital footprint from being positive to becoming negative.
pictures on the mac in computer class. It was not to exciting, it was school work. In sixth grade
How many of you had a social media accounts before the age 13? Not many kids know what they’re getting into when they make a social media account. They make the account because they see everyone else doing it or wanting to try something new. Many c...
My first encounter with computers (as far as I can remember) was when my next door neighbors got their very first Apple. I can remember going over to their house and begging to play on their computer. All I wanted to play with was the paint-brush program because I thought it was the neatest thing to be able to move something with your hand and have a picture created for you on the screen according to what your hand did. It was very cool!
Considering there are more than 500 million active users on Facebook it is convenient to have an account; however, several disadvantages have conducted me to deleting my account. Despite my standpoint on Facebook, I still would not delete my profile. Instead I will use it for its real advantages such as spreading awareness in causes I am passionate about and connecting with old and long distance friendships. It is not harmful to have an account, but it does not need your attention every eight seconds. Mine certainly doesn’t.
Many people know her as a princess who is sitting in house where her step-mother and her two step-sisters abused her. One day, she went to the ball from the help of her fairy godmother. The prince fell in love with her of her talents. In reality, she was mostly not have survived. In reality, this is Cinderella’s story.
The popular site, Facebook.com, has amassed more than one billion registrants since it started in February 2004. It is another social networking site, just like MySpace.com and Xanga.com, which is common to High School and College students. But this is no ordinary site; people’s lives literally revolve around Facebook. I have a Facebook account and log in at least once a day. I personally believe that Facebook is a fun and interactive site. However, some students may not feel that same way because they have encountered some negative aspects, aside from Facebook’s legal problems.
