It has been happened frequently in today’s society that parents and teachers try to keep children away from violent media. Children are taught that violent is not right and dangerous. In the article, “Violent Media Is Good for Kids”, Gerard Jones asserts that allowing children to violent media instead of banned it can bring great benefit to children during their growing stage. By watching violent media, children learn to overcome fear, control the rage and prove the real self from the superheroes in the story. Jones believes that violent entertainment can assistance children to fulfill emotional and development need. In my opinion, Jones develops a persuasive argument because of his strong emotions, considerable evidences and reasonable assumptions.
Television has become a big part in children’s day-to-day lives especially in the 20th century. Children in this century rely on television to keep them entertained and educated instead of entertaining and educating themselves by participating in activities, which will teach them a lot more in life then the actual television. There is no doubt that children are most easily influenced by television because of the different content that they watch as well as the amount of time consumed watching TV. The television does have an emotional and intellectual development on children but this all depends on the content that they’re watching and the way that they absorb the information that the show is trying to send out. Different programs will portray
Although there wasn’t any scientific research that has proven the effectiveness of any form of subliminal influence on humans. Subliminal advertising is a conspiracy theory that has made its ways too the new age. Resulting in a general fear over the rise of the media industry to a position where the production of cultural meaning and ideology in society is basically taken over. The actuality that most media forms are being dominated by large companies and corporations, in addition to their commercial and mass imperatives, it creates an anxiety over their apparently systematic control of the beliefs and political opinions in society.
...ng more positive movies and shows will increase the greatness in the attitudes of children and adults. Hollywood needs to seek ways of showing smiles instead of ways to cause frowns or setbacks. If Hollywood produced more positive movies to look at, adults may become better at parenting, being a friend, and loving. Children may also have a higher self-esteem and become friendlier.
The effect of the media on young children is especially salient. Young children often learn how to act and behave from what they observe at home, from the adults and older peers they come in contact with, and from what they see on television.
I chose to analyze Despicable Me, an animated film geared towards a younger audience, because I was interested in examining underlying theories and messages that this film would be relaying to its viewers. Often times, when watching animated films, children are not aware of these messages, as they are absorbed by the characters, special effects, and humor. But as we have learned throughout this semester, our brains are subconsciously primed by the various surroundings we are exposed to. Since we also studied the impacts of entertainment, such as television and video games, on children, I wanted to see how a popular children’s film might also affect them.

To understand both sides, you must tackle both perspectives. For the serious types of cartoons there are fewer examples, but they manage to make as big an impact and leave a lasting impression. One example can be seen in Disney’s 1994 epic Gargoyles. Disney took an approach that had never been tried: an action series. This show derived from the usual Disney cartoons that had cutsie scenarios that they were usually associated with. The result from this new step was a well-written saga. Often seen as a response to Batman: The Animated Series, this show was dark, serious, and complex, with their characters fleshed out, and the story epic. The show is about seven gargoyles that, through a twist of fate and events, find themselves in 1994 Manhattan after having lost their clan in a castle raid of betrayal. Once in New York, the gargoyles rightfully find themselves out of time, unable to fit into a world that is even more dangerous than before, and does not know of their existence. The first human they meet, David Xanatos, offers them a new home and says he wishes to befriend the gargoyles, only to betray them once they’ve done his dirty work. Having been betrayed ...

Most American's would agree that children watch a lot of TV. It's common to see a child sitting in front of the TV on a Saturday morning with their Coco Pebbles watching their favorite superhero. This sounds harmless enough. However, many parents and teachers across the country are worried about the cartoons their children are watching. They feel that the cartoons have become too violent and are having negative long-term effects on children. It is common to see young boys pretending to shoot one another, while jumping on the couch and hiding in closets as a sort of make-believe fort. But parents say that children are learning these behaviors from cartoons and imitating them. Others however, disagree, they say that violence in cartoons does not effect children and that children need this world of fantasy in their lives. They say that children would show these same behaviors regardless of the content of the cartoons they watch.

Many researchers like scientists, pediatricians, and child researchers in many countries have studied to find out what it is about television violence that makes it such a big affect on the way kids act and behave. The question is whether the sources of media, television and the internet has a positive effect or a negative effect on children, and which source of media has a bigger effect.

There’s an ancient chinese proverb that states “A child’s life is like a piece of paper on which everyone who passes by leaves an impression” (Great-Quotes.com.) People blindly believe that children are easily influenced by violent cartoons on television. From generation to generation parents are always warned not to allow their kids to watch too much violent cartoons. What kids watch- and not just how much- matters when it comes to television viewing (Rochman.) But just how true is that? Research on the negative influences of cartoons on children is inconclusive and complex.
Someone is seriously going to get hurt or worse. Turn on a television set and pick a channel at random; the odds are better than fifty-fifty that the program will expose children to violent material. Naturally kids are attracted to things that captures their attention. What was a major contribution to a fun childhood? Cartoons! Cartoons are very fun to watch and learn from. However, there is something that all cartoons have in common and that is hilarious violence.
