For example the store Game Stop and Game Stop dot com. They have an advantage on both territories and they broaden the customer base, by being available and online. You can afford to discount more sometimes online, to keep the customer shopping, and the company can make the customer service base open both online and in person, no matter how you bought the product. Also if you there was a problem with the product, you can physically take it back to the store and they can return or exchange. So the benefits are great, because the company has both markets at it’s advantage.
5. E-commerce and the Internet bring many benefits to both buyers and sellers alike. Briefly discuss the benefits to both buyers and sellers.
For buyers they might get the opportunity to by a mass quantity at a low price and it can keep a company’s overhead down. For a buyer, to me the main element is convenience, because you do not have to go to the actual store, you tend to get online discounts that is not available in store, and you have a better chance in obtaining your product, because you can possibly be obtaining it directly from the company.
6. Discuss the differences between click-only companies and click-and-mortar e-marketers.
Click-only companies are online only, but a click- and-mortar has both Brick and Mortar and has added an e-commerce to the company.
7. Define viral marketing. What is the link between viral marketing and word-of-mouth communication? Discuss the benefits of viral marketing.
Viral Marketing is the internets version of word of mouth. Vial marketing involves creating an email or another marketing plan that is so infectious that it makes a person want to forward it.
Some pros of doing a store retail channel is that customers can actually touch the products, they receive personal customer service, and immediate gratification after purchases. Pros of the internet channel is that there is a greater selection, Nordstrom can provide more information for products, and collect more information about shoppers. Drawbacks
Similar to news in its widespread marketing, publicity is another method in which people’s minds are reprogrammed, this time by the merchandisers. Publicity attempts to ingrain concepts and transmit political and commercial messages into the consumer’s minds, in an endeavor to make them buy specific goods. They do this by constantly exposing the people to the products through their repeated displayal on various mediums. Billboards and posters can be found on most highways, and in nearly all cities around the world. Consequently they push ideas at the consumer any time he/she travels on foot, by car, or even uses the public transport systems.

Amazon has more warehouses than any other online retail sites. They also have them spread out all over the world in more countries than any other online retailor. This gives them a competitive advantage because they are able to get the product to the customer quicker and most of the time overnight even. This is certainly a sustainable competitive advantage for Amazon because it is not a resource that will go away or that fluctuates on price or availability.
Online shopping has been growing since the put the first online store on the web, now you can shop from anywhere around the world and have it shipped to you directly. Comparing the product against other online store competitors; making it easier to find the best price on the web. You can research the product and make sure this what you need before buying it. The internet is twenty-four hour shopping center, you can shop at what ever time you and wherever you have time for it, making it more convenient to use online shopping. Using it can create more time for the things you would like to do.
This might appear obvious to many shoppers. But I believe multitudes of people purchase items without ever considering what they buy could be found elsewhere for less money. Even I am guilty of assuming that Walmart has the best prices on everything. If I take a small amount of time to search for a specific coffee maker, I can find the large chain store 's prices such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Sears, along with other smaller retailers. (In some cases smaller stores ' prices are lower.) Many stores price match, so if I prefer to shop at Walmart because I live close to one, I can have them match the competing retailers lower price. Also, many retailers provide free shipping on online orders totaling a certain amount. Therefore, if physically visiting the store with the lowest prices is not feasible, shoppers can order items online for no extra charge. However, ordering from brick-and-mortar stores—physically or online—is not always the best option. Websites such as Amazon and eBay have millions of items from multiple sellers. Sellers will compete with each other for the lowest price, often providing shoppers with a price lower than those of larger stores. There are many reasons for choosing to go into a store to purchase items needed. For instance, having someone assist you in finding what you need, or just answer questions about the product. It is also a way to get off the couch, away from the television, or off the computer. Another feature is you can see and examine what you are going to purchase. The convenience of being able to check multiple stores prices without having to waste gas to drive to multiple stores to find the best price is just one of the many ways shopping online can save you money. We all know children grow at an exponential rate so having to go to the mall multiple times a month is frustrating and tiring. Being able to have someone deliver whatever you desire right to your doorstep is like receiving a gift. Another pro of online shopping is having access to customer reviews. Yes, you may be able to physically hold the item if you were buying it from a store, but by reading the customer reviews you can decide if the product is worth the price. You can even write your own review to inform other people of your opinion of the product. If you don’t like the product, most places allow you to ship it back hassle-free with a full refund or
