Everybody is unique; therefore there are many different types of personalities, and personality traits. Some people are loud and outspoken, and some people are quiet and reserved. But no personality is better than the other. This experiment is to find out whether or not certain types of personalities have a preference for movies and music. In this experiment, boys and girls around ages 13-14 will be taking the Myers-briggs personality test, and will be given a survey. They will be asked about their personality type based on the four letters the Myers-briggs personality test gives them. Katherine Briggs was inspired to research personality types because of her daughter’s fiancée. He was a very good match for her daughter, and she noticed that he had a different outlook of the world, and a different perspective of their family and of life in general. Which is why she decided to do quite a bit of research on this topic. Carl Jung, a swiss psychiatrist is know as one of the founding fathers of psychology. He thought each individual had different views of how the world weeks, and that everyone processes information differently. After Carl Jung published his book Psychological Types (1921; 1923 in English), she realized that they had very similar theories about this topic. Isabel Myers thought that they should create a test in which they will be able to identify their personality type. At the end it gives them four letters, which shows their preference over other personality attributes. Such as if someone prefers extraversion or introversion, sensing or intuition, feeling or thinking, and judging or perceiving.The Myers-briggs personality test does not take in account the mood of someone, or how they’re feeling that day. Which is why it might not always have the most accurate results, because depending on a person’s mood, they will answer the questions different.
