During the past couple of weeks in ENG120. I learn a lot during the class and going to use my skills in my future class and in my career field. I improved my skills in typing and learning my mistakes in grammar. I also learn a better way to look up research materials by going to different sources and making sure my facts were right before attempting to type a paper out.
My skills in writing and researching are going to be beneficial to me in my job field. When I get into the Electronic Engineering Technician(EET) field. I’ll be able to understand how to my research more for EET and learn it for my personal used in conducting a research paper. If I had to adjust my writing for different media in different ways. When I write a paper, I just type the information and make sure it just right and be done with it. But this time, I write my information from media sources to chance a reader attention. Getting readers to the point where they would want to keep reading until the very end.
When I revised my paper. I would make sure that I’ll go back and check my grammar mistakes because I would leave a handful of errors in my paper. Once checking my grammar is correct, I’ll go back and make sure all my information corrects from my sources and

I had to change my writing style up a lot compared to my old style. When writing my papers, I would just go ahead and start typing and then fix my errors. When I write my paper today and in the future. I’m going to start writing down my key points, which detail is more important and what order these details would go in versus just typing all down and it being a cluster of a mess. My weakness in all of these is not actually putting a lot of time into. I usually put about one or two days into when the teacher would give us about a whole week or two before it’s time to turn it in. My strength has to be in not giving up on it and actually push forward in my writing
It took me a week to write the essay I used instead of the three months it
When writing a five paragraph essay, there are five steps one must fallow in order to attain perfection, these steps include understanding the question, brainstorming, writing a rough copy, revising, and creating a final draft. The first and most important step is understanding the topic. The topic of the essay is what the essay will be about and if this is misunderstood, the whole essay will be off course. The second step, brainstorming, will help organize thoughts and ideas so they flow amiably. There are many different ways to brainstorm, some of the most helpful are making a web of ideas, making a list of ideas, or creating a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the conviction. All these ideas will be related to the topic at hand. For example, if the essays topic is about how the earth is affected by global warming, then the brainstorming ideas might include the ozone lair being reduced or how global climate has raised. The third step when writing a five paragraph essay is creating the rough draft. The first draft must have all the features the final will, but does not have to be...
The art of writing is a complex and difficult process. Proper writing requires careful planning, revision, and proofreading. Throughout the past semester, the quality of my writing has evolved significantly. At first, I struggled with the separation of different types of paragraphs, and I found writing them laborious. Constant practice, however, has eliminated many of my original difficulties, and helped to inspire confidence in my skills. As a collegiate writer, my strength lies in my clear understanding of the fundamentals of writing, while my primary weakness is proofreading my own work.
...lized that there were many mistakes that I needed to fix in order to perfect my writing. I need to consider more about focusing on the topic and organizing for my writing, because it appeals to the audience more clear to the point. Also, I feel that I am much better to convince my audience through my writings.
errors that could easily be fixed. This is because I reread the gibberish I write and polish it up. My papers
As the first semester of my sophomore year wraps up, I begin to realize that I have learned a lot in all of my classes. The class that I learned the most from has definitely been my English 111 course. This class have given me so many opportunities to improve my writing skills. With all of the success I’ve had in this class, I believe I will do just fine with writing later in my life.
Writing and reading are two essential skills that we need to have in order to succeed in any field of study that we have chosen. Without these two we would not be here, wouldn’t be writing right now and would be considered the lowest class of our society. There are different aspects of writing that each of us may, or may not, excel at. Some of us are creative enough to write short stories or even novels on fiction while others, like me, are better at writing essays. To accomplish this we have all had a person to inspire us, to drive us, to get us over the hump of confidence that we need to succeed. Still to be successful we need to count on ourselves to succeed.
Even when I do choose my own topic, I analyze each sentence as I compose an essay instead of simply writing the paper. In Honors Writing, Mrs. Templin told me to sit for at least twenty minutes, with no distractions, and type everything that comes to mind. Type now, edit later. I still struggle with this method because procrastination is another huge weakness of mine, and editing takes more time than writing. My philosophy used to be that if I could write a paper beautifully the first time, edits were unnecessary. After receiving grades I did not like, however, I realized the importance of taking the time to fully revise my writing. Now, editing is the fun part of writing because the writing is, for the most part, finished. Few activities are more satisfying than finding that misplaced comma, misspelled word, or misplaced modifier. It can get complicated when I have to change, move, or delete entire sentences, but I would rather fix a few sentences than write an entire paper the night before it is due. The “type now, edit later” method is significantly easier than my previous writing methods, because I could put my thoughts down quickly. Releasing thoughts is, of course, the first and most important step in constructing an essay. I still struggle sometimes to stop analyzing sentences, but I am seeing
In this paper, I am to write about my strengths and weaknesses in writing. This is not an easy task for me because I have never considered myself a writer. Reading other peoples thoughts are activities that are more my speed. I simply have trouble putting my thoughts into writing. Since, I do not feel that I have many strengths, let's move on to my weaknesses.
Paying attention to detail and effective writing are two skills that need improvement. I have noticed that when I take on large complex tasks, I am sometimes scattered and missed small details that may have a huge impact on my performance. I also realize that I am an emotional writer. When I am passionate about something, my emotions tend to show too much in my writing which dilutes the mission, goals, and objectives of the
Some of the complications I face with writing is not using enough body paragraphs, forgetting a thesis statement, lack of word choice, punctuation errors, etc. I am unaware at times of my mistakes, but I always try to correct them. I have also come to terms with my strengths and weaknesses as a writer.... ... middle of paper ...
I sincerely appreciate the opportunity you have provided for me and my fellow students the past few weeks. The experience I have had with your fourth grade class has given me a sense of personal accomplishment while meeting the requirements for our writing unit. I have learned so much about your students and their ever growing writing abilities throughout my time with them. Although our time was limited, I am proud to say they have each grown as writers and as individuals. Although they may have been weary at first, each student opened up to me in their own way.
In my narrative essay I changed multiple errors throughout the paper along with adding more information. I started revising my essay by identifying that I need to change the point of view. I need to transform second person pronouns like “you” to first person pronouns like “we” and “I”. I strived to improve a list of grammatical errors as well throughout my paper. Finally, I need to add more dialogue and clarified my introduction paragraph to improve my essay. After re-reading my essay and identifying what I needed to correct, I started fixing my errors to improve my work.
Improving my communication skills has been a work in progress starting back in the early years of my life. I have always been my own worse critic. Usually beating myself down through interpersonal communication. Now as an adult I have made great improvements but still have trouble dealing with perception and self-image. Not being raised in an environment of positive reinforcement and poor communication in the workplace I have made it a point to change that trait in my own family and professional environment.
Good afternoon Mrs. Shaw, Writers always need to find ways to improve in their writing. Here I have is a list of weakness I can improve on this year to make myself a better writer. One of my weakness as a writer is when I get writer's block it can be hard for me to start writing for a while. I also need to work on proofreading a writing piece. In addition, I also need to work on my punctuation and grammar.
