My Favorite Vacations 75 percent of Americans with paid time off of work don’t use all of their time off (Fox News). Americans should use more of their time off to get away for a while, see places they haven’t seen before, and spend time with their families. My family loves to vacation. Vacations have allowed me to see new places and get away from the responsibilities that I have back at home. As a family, we’ve gone on 5 vacations together. They have all been very fun vacations. However, my three favorite vacations have been to Disney World, the Grand Canyon, and California/Arizona. My first favorite vacation is when we went to Disney World. We went in February 2015. When we were there, we went to all of the four parks. We went to one park …show more content…
My grandma and grandpa came with us on this vacation. First we flew into Las Vegas and spent a day there. Then, we drove to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Along the way, we stopped at the Hoover Dam. While we were at the Grand Canyon, we got up to see the sunrise, hiked down into the canyon, went on a smooth water raft ride, and stopped at various lookout points along the rim. It was amazing to actually see the Grand Canyon in person. I didn’t know it before, but it’s hard to actually capture the Grand Canyon’s beauty in just a picture. Therefore, I’m very glad that I was able to see the canyon in my lifetime. I believe that everyone should see it at least once in their lifetime because it is a truly amazing …show more content…
This was my very first vacation that I ever went on. I was in third grade when we went. We went on this vacation with my aunt, uncle, and cousins. It was so fun being with my family and my cousins on this vacation because we are very close. We flew into Los Angeles, and spent a few days there doing numerous things such as going to Disneyland, walking the walk of fame, and going to a beach. Then we drove down to San Diego in a sixteen passenger van, and went to Seaworld. Then we drove all the way to Mesa, Arizona, which is right outside of Phoenix, Arizona, to see my grandparents that had gone down there for the winter. With my grandparents, we hiked a small mountain called Silly Mountain. But, on our way down, we got lost! So, we hiked down through the desert and along the highway in order to get back to our car. We laugh about it now, but we weren’t laughing then because we didn’t have any water along with us besides a tiny water bottle that was half empty! This vacation will always be one of my favorites because of all the adventures we went on and all the memories we
Disney world, Paris, Australia, Italy; all amazing places I’m sure, but I’ve never been. Although there is one place I have been to; it was none other than Blackpool Pleasure Beach!
Out of all the trips I have taken, Cancun was definitely the best. It was 2013 and I was in fifth grade. I had known about the trip for weeks and I was so amped up for the plane ride, for the hotel, and especially the ocean. I was in science and the teacher was getting mad because I was distracting all the kids by jittering all over the place. Finally I heard my name called over the intercom and I leaped for joy and ran out of the classroom. From school we drove to the Iowa Airport, got our tickets and loaded onto the plane. Our first plane took us to Chicago, Illinois where we boarded a plane , at the O’Hare International Airport, departing for Cancun,Mexico. The second plane was very lengthy, I tried to sleep but I didn’t actually fall asleep
We finally arrived there. We got there just in time for sunset. So we paid to get in and drove to one of the viewing points. We all got bundled up because it was on 29 degrees. We walked over to the railing that overlooked the canyon. We all stood there watching the sunset and taking pictures.
Considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the 18 mile wide, 270 mile long and mile deep Grand Canyon is a site to behold, one in fact most all parents hope to share with their children at some point in their lifetime. The Grand Canyon, which finds its home in the northern part of Arizona, is perhaps best known for its overwhelming size and majestic, colorful landscape, and important geological displays. Consequently, it is an important part of the American landscape that every person should see for themselves, with their own eyes. Under the Canvas makes this dream of seeing such a picturesque view a reality. While enjoying your stay with your family at the Grand Canyon, be sure to try these _____activities. They are ideal for children and will help your family enjoy your visit to its fullest.
Disney world is a place designed for uncountable amounts of excitement and making memories. I had an unforgettable experience, because of the beauty of magic Kingdom, the Heart arousing of Bush gardens, and the almost unreal sites of universal. I will never forget the time I had on senior trip, and I hope visit again
My best friend and I were so excited, we were going to Six Flags some where we haven’t been in years. Around this time we were twelve years old and thought we were the most adventurous people in the world. The night before going to Six Flags I spent the night over her house. My best friend and I couldn’t stop talking about the rides we would get on, which one would be first and what we were going to eat.
When I was in the seventh grade, our class went on a field trip to Cherokee, North Carolina. The trip lasted four days and three nights, but the adventure would last a lifetime. The experience allowed me to learn many things about myself and to reflect on the beauty that was all around me. We departed at six-thirty in the morning, and I was so excited. I had never been away on a school trip for longer than a few hours. I tossed my purple duffel bag into the storage compartment, found my seat by the window, and prepared for what I knew would surely be an unforgettable adventure.
A couple of years ago during one of those, on a whim after spending a few days in Arches National Park, my wife and I detoured to the snowy, icy south rim of the Grand Canyon. We journeyed toward it from the east side but got turned back at the National Parks’ gate; the road was snowed under from there on up. After retracing our steps, we traveled down to Flagstaff and spent the night, driving in my four by four truck up to the South Rim the next day. It was an eerie experience to stand on the edge of the South Rim and see only cloud; fog shrouded the canyon’s great gap, leaving us with visual doubts that anything was really there. Defeated, we hit the Visitor’s Center and gathered information so we could go back sometime in the spring or fall with weather more to our liking.
What we did there was really cool we went to the beach , and we went to the disney mall it was fun and we also watched my sister's softball tournament at the ESPN Park .
Visit the grand canyon. There are few things that are as spectacular as the Grand Canyon, I wish to arrive just a couple of minutes before sunrise and witness the natural spectacular scenery.
A few months later, we went to Chicago to visit my other Uncle .Before starting fifth grade,I went to India A FIFTH TIME!!! After visiting India, I went to London but took a short trip to Paris as well. After being to so many places,I can cross countries off of my bucket list! In grade
One of the best family trips that I have been on occurred when I was about 8 years old. My family and I were invited to go on a 4th of July camping trip to Telluride by some family friends that have 5 kids the same ages as our kids. Several other good friends were also invited to join us. We prepared our camping gear, loaded up the car and hooked up our trailer with our Polaris Ranger. The long drive to Telluride was 7 hours and it felt like it took forever because we were so excited to arrive. Even though the drive up their wasn’t fun at all, the reward was great.
When we got home, I was glad - then again, I was sorrowful because it was over! After every vacation, I have a feeling of remorse for taking so many things with me. When I get home from that vacation, I have to unpack it all.
My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height. When finally arrived at the destination, the dry and warm weather was there to welcome us. We all felt relief, and knew that this was the beginning of the summer. Excited, we had a lot of activities planned for the few weeks, me and my father could not wait to dive in the clear
Throughout someone’s life they will go to many places with their family, friends, another relatives. I have been on a few vacations that have made a lasting impact on my life. But one of the most memorable vacations I have experienced was with my cousins. I went to goa beach. Most of you probably don’t know about that beach but it is a very famous one in south India. I enjoyed myself to the fullest. The beach environment was enlightening. I would not have wanted to take this trip with anyone other than my cousins. We had a great time on the ocean sands and swimming in the ocean everyday made this vacation unforgettable.
