Quality World, in general, is about reality vs. dreams. It’s the way you see yourself in the future. Whether it’s being successful in your career or your relationship, the perspectives are quite different. There are always going to be obstacles but you have to find a way to get past them.
Ten years from now, I see my Quality World thriving and prospering. I will have graduated from college with my desired major. With my medical degree, I will take up neonatal nursing and be the best at it. The way I think about relationships will change if I can stop being so stubborn with my heart and allow myself to open up. Ethics and morals play an enormous part in decision making. As an adult, making decisions are included in the roles and responsibilities. Acceptance, financial appreciation, and self-control are some of the values I feel, in the future, will be deemed as important. Being 28, I see myself renting a place to live and having my own car. I don’t believe at that age someone would be 100% financially stable.

It is a thing that can hinder your progress in life. For me, self-doubt is a crucial stumbling block that has always held me back. Those thoughts in the back of my mind, like “This is too hard” or “I don’t know, I’m not sure” can really bring me down. This insecurity can stand between where I am, and where I want to be. My goals to overcoming this is to find the source to my self-doubt. Then, I will try to encourage myself and build my confidence. Lastly, I will try to find a support system, whether that be a loved one or a close
According to Merriam-Webster, quality is defined as how good or bad something is. This applies to all things such as a computer, food, and even life. However, Pirsig goes beyond the superficial and explores the true meaning of Quality.
I’m quite curious as to what my life will be like in five years. Will I be on the beach with my hot boyfriend? Will I be sleeping all day in my California King? Or will I just be some lame college student doing homework on a saturday night? Who knows which one will be me, but I’m sure it’s neither of the first two. Looking forward, I hope to at least have a plan. I might not be out on the beach or be getting a full night’s sleep, but I hope that I’m at least happy.
When I first heard “Quality World,” I thought of everybody having equal right and of civil rights. That was until I found out about a man by the name of William Glasser an American psychiatrist. Glasser, he developed the “choice theory” also known as “quality world”. Which basically says that since you were young have always had an idea of what would make your life perfect and understand what is important to you. So when I visualize my Quality world I see myself seven or nine years in the future out of school and accomplishing my goal to become a lawyer. I grew up in a household with immigrants I always saw how much they would struggle. Yet the one thing that stood out to me was how the lawyer would take advantage of these types of people from
The concept of Utopia has been around for many years, tracing back to ancient Greece. The word for Utopia came from the Greek words ou and topos, meaning no place. Even from the beginning, the concept of Utopia was not seemed to be possible.
There are many things that I hope to accomplish and do when I get older. I want to improve and accomplish different things for myself in my career that I choose, in my material goals, and spiritually. I'm looking at the year of 2009, I will be out of college and be on my feet, hopefully. I have high expectations for myself and hope to accomplish as many of my dreams and goals as I can throughout my life.
where I will be on my own and put all the things I learned from simply taking care of a guinea pig on to the real life. When I was taking care of my pet I also learned to manage my time. Which I will utilize when given tasks as I manage my time to see what tasks to start on and when I will be able to have time for myself. Now that I’m eighteen years old I am considered an adult, to make my own choices, to be independent, to not rely on others as much as I used to. If you can adapt to the small things that come in your life, you will be able to adapt into the bigger things that come in your way.
The general pattern for people is that when they becoming older they are less able to vary life. Nikolas Westerhoff in his article “Set in Our ways: Why Change is So Hard” described the connection between humans’ brains and behavior during the certain periods of life. The key assumption is that in 20s people are more hazardous and tend to adventures, while after 30s this trend is less expressed. Author gives an example when the young generation can be even over risky and inconsiderate. The article includes the story about 22-year-old Cristopher McCandless, who gave his money for charity and hitchhiked around the USA and died in Alaska because of famine. When 40s – 60s are coming people lose their appetite for novelty due to the natural process, which reveal that old habits express themselves at those ages. The elder generation wants to feel stability continuing do customary things and taking care of their children or grandchildren. Also they are under the society’s pressure, when it is quite inappropriate being infantile or just make crazy travels instead of making a career and having a family. Author mentioned false hope syndrome, which means that people often procrastinate certain thinks that never be finished. That is why Westerhoff suggests doing everything “on a right time in a right place” because then it would be probably late.
Ben Franklin himself said, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Quality of life varies from community to community, from family to family, and from person to person. To different people, quality of life means different things. For some people quality of life means having enough money to support his/herself and his/her family, for others they see quality in being able to spend enough time with their family, and others it means being able to have the best of what they can attain. Yet, the differing views of quality, and quality itself are different because of social class. Quality of life is diminished for people in lower classes compared with people in higher classes due to jobs and health.
As a senior in high school, many students ponder the big question of life that seems to be asked by many. No, that question is not where do you want to go to college, what are you doing after high school, that question is where do you see yourself in ten years. As I reflect on my childhood, I have many dreams and aspirations that I would like to accomplish within the next ten years of my life. In ten years I can see myself having many of my goals accomplished, if not accomplished, I will be working on accomplishing those goals to fulfill my life. I live with my mommy and daddy in La Cresta, along with my brother.
Understanding who we are as individuals can be a struggle for people throughout life. It can be difficult to comprehend who we are and why we exist. There are daily outside influences that help create who we are and what our values are. Values play a significant role in our lives. They shape the choices we make and reveal a big part of our identity to the world. Some values may be more important than others, but they still manage to influence our lives in one way or another, whether we know it or not. Values can range from a tangible item to an idea that has influenced us to stand by and remember those values. The values we hold with the highest importance act as a guide and help us prioritize our purpose and goals in our daily life. My family has taught me a list of values and traits that have helped me become a well-rounded individual. I value my family more than anything because most of my core inner values have started from their teachings at one point or another. My top values that I have developed from my family are dedication, honesty, and wisdom. I will discuss who I am in terms of the important values that shape my personal belief system and decision making framework that, in essence, describes the direction of my life.
The concept of total quality management is not new in the business world. The formal process has been around since the 1920s. There have been three main people who have driven the importance of total quality management. Walter Shewhart invented total quality management in the form of statistical control in 1923. Along with Joesph Juran, it was implemented at Western Electric Company in 1926. Both Shewhart and Juran released several publications regarding total quality management. W. Edwards Deming brought it from the United States to Japan in the 1950s. Due to these efforts, Deming is referred to as the “father” of quality management (Unknown – Encyclopedia, n.d.). The concepts of Juran and Deming were initially more
Yet, the gauge we use to define these things, or the level of importance they hold in our lives, can be dangerous. Again, what is our value system?
My ideal future would be being able to travel to places where I’ve been as well as to places where I haven’t been. I’d imagine myself being happy because I’d have everything I’ve ever wanted. Getting married, buying a house- even if it were a small house with only a few bedrooms in a quiet neighbourhood. After buying a house(,) I’d have a child so that I could spoil them the way my parents spoiled me. In my ideal future(,) I would work at home so that I could be able to spend time with my family I would be my own boss. On my spare time that I would have I would start a an animal shelter one in a foreign country I would help stray animals have a home, people who can not afford to have pets could come play with dogs and cats as well as adopt them. I’d also keep myself entertained by being activite and having my own gymnastics gym.
These thoughts naturally prevent us from making effective decisions and undertaking the actions that will help us create the momentum we need to get to our end destination. Some life challenges I want to overcome in the future is first get out of my shyness talking to people or presented without being nervous front of a big crowd. When I was little my mom gave me advice to overcome this challenge. She told just practice talking yourself in the mirror until you feel confident. My biggest life challenges is to achieving success in the future. I often have thought about doing something challenging and finding myself saying: 'I 'll never be able to achieve that. I have some of my close friends and family is supporting me through my adulthoods. Overcoming this first barrier and identifying your challenge is the first step on your road to success. I have to make sure, that I have the time to commit my plan, preparation and deliver to success money, and other needs. Having established my challenge, I should let my family, and friends know what I’m aiming to achieve for in the future. Like I know one day I want own my own business running a restaurant. A goal should be challenging but achievable. It is important that I establish my goals at the beginning. I have to sit down and think I’m achieve my
