When I first heard “Quality World,” I thought of everybody having equal right and of civil rights. That was until I found out about a man by the name of William Glasser an American psychiatrist. Glasser, he developed the “choice theory” also known as “quality world”. Which basically says that since you were young have always had an idea of what would make your life perfect and understand what is important to you. So when I visualize my Quality world I see myself seven or nine years in the future out of school and accomplishing my goal to become a lawyer. I grew up in a household with immigrants I always saw how much they would struggle. Yet the one thing that stood out to me was how the lawyer would take advantage of these types of people from …show more content…
That he shares the same values as I do like being adventures, accomplished, independent and considerate. That together we can travel the world. That I have friends that want the best for me. Many times people are only in your life for a short period of time and even at that sometimes they want to see you fall flat on your face literally and figuratively. So I want to have friends that I can count on and don’t have to worry about them bring a negative atmosphere around me. Them wanting to see me succeed as I want them to succeed. Success is “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose” as said by Google. We all have a different viewpoint when we think of success, yet for me it’s simple. When I think success I think of me graduating law school. Not only graduating but getting my dream job at an at a good law firm, having my dream car, having an apartment in the city and being able to travel the world learning new languages. Success isn’t just about material things. To me being successful also means being able to share all those great moments and accomplishments with the ones you love the most like friends and …show more content…
The reason I say laziness is I have but myself in many situations where I didn’t do any work and I would go to work and home to watch TV. I wouldn’t even glance at my homework. I do strongly believe that a side of me will want to start to slack off and one I start I’ll never stop. During college is when you meet the friends of a lifetime. The relationship you build with them is going to be important and also the type of person they are. A big challenge is going to be if you are able to take toxic people out of your life while you are going through this time in your life. Will they distract me from my goal do they have the same values as I do. Freedom is a big part of starting college. There is no one is forcing you to go to class. Being able to go out for entertainment like go to a concert, hang out late with friends and being able to go to parties/ clubs. Which can become a big distraction? So I know I’m going to have to set myself some limits and be on top of my work so I can get the college experience. The college experience is important for many reasons. The first being you get to explore and figure out who you are what are your likes and
In fact, “a determined student, even encountering hardships in his/her life while attending college full time, will succeed” (Culpepper 330). Also, many professionals successfully graduated college while dealing with hardships such as “raising children alone, working in multiple jobs, and caring for sick relatives” (Culpepper 330). They showed commitment by staying focused on what they wanted to achieve in their lives. An overloaded student accomplishes his/her tasks by organizing his/her daily schedule, not allowing more than one activity developing in the same hour. Also, the student has to allow for himself/herself recreational time as a reward, for that will balance his/her overwhelmed lifestyle.
Sometimes we find ourselves so lazy or just so tired from partying that we can not find the energy to go the extra mile. This is where I come in, I still want to go to University Park, and I am not going to leave my friends behind. While college times today are faced with more and more peer-pressure there are ways on getting through this. Everyday college students are pressured to either not go to class or leave work till the last minute for a little bit of fun. Surrounding yourself with positive people who share similar values helps a lot in overcoming this.
“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” (Keller) College is definitely a challenge, but it is also a very beautiful thing. Many students enter college expecting knowledge and a sense of direction. It may be hard to balance school between work, you’re social life, life at home, personal issues, etc. A few challenges that I know about all too well have to deal with money, transportation, and procrastination. You spend all of high school listening to your teachers and parents preparing you for what is to come in the near future. The truth is that there is only one way of truly learning, from experience.
I know that college will be challenging for me because I am a recent high school graduate and college is new to me. In college, many things easily distract me, but in high school, the teachers kept me on track. Now I have to do this by myself. In addition, college work is very difficult, especially when I have homework in every
A second strategy I think is very useful for my college career is to set goals. This is useful for someone like me who always seems to slack off in school and give in to less important concerns. For example I would have school and work as my main priorities, but I would get distracted and end up playing video games or just hanging out doing nothing productive with my time. I decided to a set certain...

I have only been in college for one semester, and I have already encountered many obstacles. The biggest obstacle for me is my job. I work close to full time every week, and working so much is making it very difficult at times for me to dedicate time to my studies. My job is also making it hard for me to keep up with all of my assignment due dates.
College students have to balance work, family, and college activists and any delaying behavior from within can cause an unbalance. This behavior is called procrastinating and it can lead to problems in many areas of a student’s life. College students are the worst hit by this type of behavior because they have many different activities to focus on instead of studying. These activities can cause students to study when they have time which often is usually too short amount of time. There is a time and place to relax and enjoy life, but if students focus on playing around instead of getting their assignments done, college life will be stressful.
Starting college has affected many of my habits, mainly study habits. The first couple months of classes went by so smoothly and I felt like I was adjusting fine. I attended class regularly and took notes from the lectures. I knew that college was different than high school but I continued with the norm. Now, that the mid-term grades have been posted I have realized that College required more time management and consistency within the study habits. My mid-term grades have changed my mind set. I have designated certain days of the week for “study time” for each class hoping for improvement.
Procrastination is a tendency to postpone, put off, delay, reschedule, take a rain check on, put on ice, hold off, or to defer what is necessary to reach a particular goal.(Roget's 21st Century Thesaurus, Third Edition. Philip Lief Group 2009.) While attending College some students find it hard to juggle work, family, and friends. Leading most students down a dangerous path to procrastination; that negative impact affect students from their physical health, mental health, and social health.
When it comes to our personal and professional lives, Managing your time efficiently should be a mastered ability. As a student, this could have a huge effect on performance and grades. Seeing that Time Management is imperative when it comes to college and success, recognizing bad habits, should be one of the first obstructions immediately eliminated from your daily schedule. Create new habits if you tend to procrastinate and start planning ahead to manage your most important priorities. According to David Allen (2001),"Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity" (p.59) "changes in the way you clarify and organize all things that command your attention-could represent a significant shift in how you approach some key aspects of your day to day work." Setting up deadlines and completing your assignments a few days before the due date will eliminate the procrastination stage. Creating a list with the most important priorities first, will help sort out your assignments and eliminate stress and feeling overwhelmed.
Being a new college student can be tough. Balancing new work levels, trying to manage your time & also getting enough sleep are the main difficulties for a new college student coming straight from high school in my opinion. These problems can be easily solved by going to class and using the resources that are provided to you. This may not seem difficult but in reality it 's right in front of your face.
The quality of the product that is being made is very important to a company whatever they are making. The higher the quality if a product the more the company can charge for that product. If the company makes a low quality product that is not very good people will not buy it, also if people can find a similar product at a lower price and higher quality they will buy that. When a business makes a product they must decide on the following things: · what is the lowest level of quality that is acceptable for the product? · who is responsible for the quality control · a method of quality control that will be used that dose not effect the cost to severally What is the BSI? The BSI (British Standards Insatiate) is responsible for setting standards that products must be made to.
Most college students work. How else are they going to have the money for all those late night pizza deliveries? Part time employees usually eat on the road on the way from school to work. They work about 5 or 6 hours a day and then head home tired and ready for bed. Maybe not every night but usually there is some kind of paper to be written or chapter to be read. Full time college students that are also full-time workers have to plan everything out in order to make the time to get everything done. One of the things most college students don’t make time for is housework. They often wait until everything is dirty to start the laundry. Dishes are another thing that tend to pile up. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner plates and glasses add up after a week.
Though it's different in many ways from high school, there is still pressure at college to "fit in" and to be liked by others. There is often peer pressure to do things you wouldn't normally do "because this is college" and you are trying to meet new friends. While a trip to Wal-Mart at 3am or staying up late with friends while trying to eat your weight in cookie dough maybe fun new things to try, driving while blindfolded because of a sorority dare or trying cocaine "because this is college" and definitely not good choices. Listen to your common sense.
