Teaching is a very complex profession. Many facets of education need to be taken in order to be successful as a teacher. Teaching is not solely about imparting the skills and knowledge. It is about love and relationships that not only allows learning to happen but encourages children 's development holistically and empowers them to work towards their dreams and becoming who they want to be.
The first belief in my philosophy of teaching is that each child is unique and learning should be child centered, which will motivate the children to learn new skills and knowledge. All children learn most effectively when they are actively involved in first-hand experiences. According to Dewey, the teacher should not be the sage on stage anymore. The function

Children acquire knowledge by building on a path of ever-increasing knowledge
My third belief is that teacher should present information in a variety of ways. Education is an individual, unique experience for every child who enters a classroom, I believe that it is critical for teachers to begin by valuing children 's personal experiences, views, and ideas. What works for one child does not necessarily work for another. From didactic teaching, small group teaching to cooperative learning. For example, Use flashes card, pictures, music, etc... I have attempted to incorporate as many teaching strategies as possible in my delivery of lessons to address various learning styles, levels of ability, interest, and motivation. According to Howard Gardner 's multiple intelligence theory, there are many ways knowledge can be acquired and learning can be assessed. The variety of learning opportunities allows for all the children to both enjoy and learn all in one. As a teacher, I always strive to provide rich and engaging learning experiences for children in new and creative ways. Another example is doing story time the teacher has his a series of props ready to assist them in

An example of this belief is that children learn from their mistakes, accountable, teamwork and collaboration. When given time and the chance to explore their own interests, develop their own unique talents and strengths. For example, it keeps children active and eager to learn more. Piaget has helped me realize that there are learning and discovery in everything you do, you just have to look for it. I truly believe that children possess the natural ability to construct their own understanding and knowledge. Piaget believed that children are naturally curious and that children at all ages have the ability to create theories about how the world
What is the purpose of education? A question that has been asked for centuries and defined in many ways; each theorist will argue their views on education is unsurpassed, yet it remains a question, that the future of our children depends upon. My personal philosophy of education is to create an environment that allows every child the freedom and ability to discover, create and pursue their interests; ultimately becoming the best they can, for an evolving and unpredictable future. Within this framework, the purpose being to encourage learning through children’s interests, by personalising education for the individual and interlacing subjects to engage and entice learning. While discussing my personal philosophy of education, I will explain the aim of education, consider the role of the teacher and the learner and present effective teaching methods and practices for within the classroom. This essay will demonstrate that Dewey, Friedman, Neill, Noddings, Robinson, and Zhao, support my personal philosophy and prove in contrast with the theories of Skinner and Rousseau.
My most basic, fundamental belief in education has always been that every student is capable of learning. The learning may not take place on my desired timeline, but each child has the capacity to learn. I have always considered myself to be child-centered, rather that teacher-centered, in the classroom. I hold that most learning is accomplished when new information can be integrated into previous knowledge, and I also find that a balanced approach to any learning includes the repetition of information and a varied approach in delivery.
People learn through person-to-person interaction and then individually though internalization processes that lead to a deeper understanding. Vygotsky believed that social interaction help children construct knowledge. An effective learning environment should allow for child-to-child and adult-to-child interactions. The zone of proximal development describes the distance between the developmental levels reached by independent problem-solving under adult guidance of in collaboration with more capable peers. Dewey’s philosophy of education is the belief that knowledge results from experience. His philosophy of teaching and learning focuses on the continuous interaction between past experiences and current situating. Learning doesn’t occur in isolation, it is a continuous process, so each thing learned impacts the experiences that follow. Children tend to respond to learning opportunities based not only upon the structure and presentation, but also in relation to the child’s previous experiences with the topic. With this in mind a hands on environment that promotes positive social interactions and experience seems to be the best possible thing for children. While not everyone agrees with every part of the philosophy there is still a lot to be learned from this information. Most teachers adopt what they fits them or their classroom the best when it comes to implementing these theories in real life. This has opened the door to more research and even more learning about the educational processes of
The purpose of this paper is to identify/describe and discuss my personal philosophy teaching. As I describe my theory of learning I will talk about experiences that have affected me. As well as identifying areas of pedagogy that have influenced my personal philosophy. I will then describe how my philosophy teaching guides my teaching style.
In a society where kids must go to school up to the collegiate level, teaching is an impactful career choice. Teachers help contour the minds of future leaders of the world. Furthermore, teachers play a crucial role in guiding students to the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to succeed in life, and teachers lead students to make informed decisions on any topic the meet in the future. As a teacher, a person must relinquish their knowledge onto students. Finally, they must prepare their students for all the obstacles they will face later in life.
Upon being faced with the task of writing my philosophy of teaching, I made many attempts to narrow the basis for my philosophy down to one or two simple ideas. However, I quickly came to the realization that my personal teaching philosophy stems from many other ideas, philosophies, and personal experiences. I then concentrated my efforts on finding the strongest points of my personal beliefs about teaching and what I have learned this semester, and came up with the following.
In today’s classroom, the teacher is no longer viewed as the sole custodian of knowledge. The role of a teacher has evolved into being amongst one of the sources of information allowing students to become active learners, whilst developing and widening their skills. Needless to say, learning has no borders – even for the teacher. One of the strongest beliefs which I cling to with regards to teaching is that, teaching never stops and a teacher must always possess the same eagerness as a student. Through several interactions with other teachers, I always strive for new ideas, techniques, teaching styles and strategies that I might add to my pedagogical knowledge. Furthermore, through personal reflection, feedback and evaluation...
Being a teacher is not an easy task as many people could think. To be a teacher does not only imply to know the subject to be taught, it also includes being willing to constantly improve oneself integrally, as much as updating the resources and materials one uses in teaching. Reflecting and analyzing over and over again the best way to teach to learn and how to make students to extend what has been learned. The many hours spend in the classroom will never be enough to plan lessons, prepare materials, review pupils tasks and exams, as well, all the administrative requirements one has to cover for whatever institution we work. Besides all this a good teacher, a professional one, will have to find the time to keep preparing to improve oneself.
Upon entering the field of education, I am faced with many questions. Will the students like me? Will I have a large class? Will I be a good teacher? A few of the questions that definitely need to be answered before I enter the classroom, are what methods should I use to teach? What aspects of which methods will work best for me? What philosophy best exemplifies the way I want to bestow the learning process to my students? In my quest to become an elementary teacher I shall use a variety of aspects from past philosophers of education. As long as each child is learning, I feel that I am fulfilling my goal, and a difference is being made, I am on my way to a successful classroom.
I believe that teaching is one of the most important careers that one can have, granted that there are many more jobs that come to mind that have more importance, but they all started with education. Without education society is left with nothing. Although, teaching isn’t just about giving the students the information, it is about building critical thinking, communication, showing their creative side and having them to embrace the information in order to achieve higher standards. I think that education is truly the foundation.
My teaching philosophy has been strongly influenced by my field experience in the primary grades. It may be necessary to adjust some of these beliefs to fit the needs of the classroom in certain situations, especially if I were teaching one of the intermediate grades. There are five general philosophies that I believe are essential in creating an effective learning environment as an educator: setting clear expectations for students and creating a respectful environment, acting as a facilitator in the classroom, creating relationships with students and their caregivers, and using positive reinforcement. Though there are a plethora of responsibilities that educators have in the classroom, I believe that these five are the most imperative to being successful in teaching in an elementary classroom.
When thinking of a philosophy of teaching, four major issues need to be considered. Those issues are one’s views on education, the role of the teacher, teaching and learning, and on the children. This is something that someone entering the teaching profession needs to give serious thought to and realize the importance that this will hold in the future. The following essay will express my philosophy of teaching.
There is a saying that asserts that “anyone can teach” and I suppose in a way that it is true, but not just anyone can be a teacher. It takes a certain kind of individual to be a teacher and only a subset of them will choose to devote their lives to the education system. With its rigorous testing for both students and teachers alike and constant observations, the teaching profession is not for the faint-hearted or every Joe Schmoe you meet. To be a worthwhile teacher, it takes skills that not everyone has and a strong foundation because teaching is not only about what you have, but what you can give. These skills and areas of focus for teachers are commonly referred to as pedagogical competencies.
“Teaching is often a difficult process, but the end result is very rewarding. Watching a child develop confidence and seeing a student progress in their studies is a very exciting process. Teaching young children is especially great because it is setting a foundation for life-long learning.”(Chronicle guidance publications). What is teaching? A teacher is a person who provides education for pupils (children), or students (adults) using lectures, audiovisual aids, demonstrations, and computers to present academic, social, and motor skills. Teachers can also teach foreign languages, art, kids with special needs, and P.E. Teaching has changed a lot compared to the traditional methods of just lectures and textbooks. Students now are encouraged to actively learn through groups or individual projects. They have learning games, debates, and experiments to help them through the learning process. Being a teacher would be a great career for anyone who wants to further themselves, to help people, and to have great benefits (chronicle guidance publications).
Teaching is a daunting task that I do not intend to take lightly. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine for several years. I always knew that teaching would be the career for me, especially when I began working in the school system as a substitute secretary. I loved working in the school environment; coming in contact with children everyday made me realize how much I would enjoy teaching a classroom full of students.
