Imagine that you are being isolated on a remote island for approximately one year. What would you take with you in order to survive, excluding nutrition, medicine, clothing, energy, room and board, and safety needs (our basic needs)? I call this a survival kit. In general, I may divide my survival kit into four basic personal needs. These are entertainment apparatus, things that I already own, things that you don't own but want, and, the last but not least, people. Generally, I want to take something that is not in vain. By having my survival kit, I can manage to accomplish my social and esteem needs. First, I would like to take my best friends who have similar hobbies and interests. I think it is better to bring friends rather family or relatives because I can have intriguing adventures with my friends, throw a party or share my happiness and unforgettable memories with them. Sometimes family has more important things to do. This might be the best opportunity I can have with my friends, taking them to an island, spending a year there and getting to know each other better than before. For me and my friends, we have been waiting for this rare opportunity. I love playing music (especially the drums) with my friends. We used to have a band and play music together. Since all of us are going to college, we do not have time to meet with each other and play songs together. It will be very nice to gather all of my friends and play music again. I think we are completing each other with our pluses and minuses. I have to bring my friends to provide happiness, accomplishments and to relieve me when I am down in the dumps. Personally, I would take 86-inch TV and all its odds and ends such as bose speakers, sound system, DVD/CD/VCD/VCR player with the movies, equalizer, antenna, cable television service, and, the most important, surge protector to protect all of the equipment. I like this entertainment system very much, I can sit, relax, and watching movies. In addition, I do not want to be blind to the recent current affairs in today's world. I might as well watch news to be aware of the world's development, domestically and globally. This influences me personally and socially because I can enjoy myself by killing the time and watching great movies. In addition, my mind is also opened to what happened outside the island.
Henry Dobbins is the guy who loves to eat so he made sure he took some extra food. Ted Lavender was the scaredy cat of the group so he carried tranquilizers with him. Dave Jense is the paranoid one, so he takes soap and a toothbrush to prevent germs and disease as best he can. Kiowa has a bible with him showing us he is the dedicated religious type. Mitchell Sanders, the funny one, has condoms with him. I'll let you decide on that one. Norman Bowker has a diary and Rat Kiley carried comic books, most likely as a way to "get away" from everything at the end of the day. Regardless of the personal items each one takes, they all share 2 items in common; their boots and their helmets. Almost all of them also have pictures with them but Jimmy Cross takes 2 very special ones. He has 2 pictures of the woman he loves, Martha. What these guys are truly carrying is some extreme emotional and physical troubles. Amongst his personal items Jimmy Cross also takes with him navigation tools. Rat Kiley has with him the medicine, surgical tape, painkillers, and other things that end up weighing alot. Ted Lavender is very scared, so he also has with him a large supply of ammunition. They all carry with them as much as they can. Weather it be for protection or entertainment, including fear and amazement of the thin...
For clothing I will pack quite a few items. The first items will pack five half way decent and comfy t shirts. Secondly, I will pack five pairs of comfy cute shorts. Then one pair of pants in case it is chilly and a pair of pair of leggings to sleep in or wear for the day. I will also bring a cute dress that I could wear if I went
I love marching band because, while it is so challenging and physically draining, it is also an amazing and rewarding experience. To me, band is more than a class. It’s more than an extracurricular activity or a summer pastime. Band is a way to express who you really are-- a way to find your true character. I’ve met some of the most influential people in my life through band programs, and they’ve helped me shape myself into
Where I learned how to become a leader through the leadership ensemble within the marching band. Where in my senior and fourth year of marching competitively, I became the Drum Major, and earned the Best Drum Major Award at the Roxbury Marching Band Classic Competition. From marching band I progressed into jazz music, where I became the lead alto saxophonist in the top jazz band at my school during my junior and senior year. I was also one of three saxophonists in the top band at my school. I picked up the clarinet, the flute, and the soprano saxophone on my way through high school, and have played all three as well in my performing ensembles. I played in the pit orchestra of the theater production of “All Shook Up”, and was the principal saxophonist at my high school. Too be short, I am very involved in all things music in the past and currently. Band and music have been a place for me to rely on, something that brings me joy when sad. Allows me to express myself through sounds and through instruments. It is truly a talent and a hobby that I hope to continue through college and through life because of the joy it brought me and creative outlet it was throughout my
The following question has been asked: What three things I would take with me if I were forced to live on a deserted island? Here are my thoughts:-
My parents, love to do things as a family, they always wanted to do things, with me and my sister, we are a very close family and its so great because I know that my sister will always be there like she was been for the past 16 years, I know she's always just a phone call away.
First of all In a home you should always have canned food and other foods that won't go bad. You should always have a heater or something that will be able to heat your home and should always have coats ready to use.You should also have shovels in your home at all times or something like that like salt. you need light so that can mean anything from a lantern to a candle to a flash light.Last but definitely not least you should have an emergency radio in your home it needs to be either crank power or battery powered. You also will need things in your car the first thing that should be in your car is salt and cat litter you may be thinking why cat litter well it can be used to help traction on your car. You also need to have snacks a coat shovels and an emergency
Ask yourself “if I could take a trip ANYWHERE where would I go” well, I asked myself the same question where would I go? Here is my answer, I would go to the Bahamas because I think that I need to try something new. I think that if I went to the Bahamas then i would try everything because i am very deprived as in i don’t take advantage of the things i could be doing.
My most important contribution to my school has been being involved in marching band. I have been in the Pride of Morehead marching band for four years now. Marching band is one of those organizations that begins prior to school starting. We have two weeks of band camp. During this time period, we teach the freshman how to march, memorize music, as well as learn who they are. We also begin to learn the drill for the show. During this time we make new friendships with younger band members. As I have gotten older, many of my friends have graduated and left band. As a senior, my only significant friends were seniors. I decided to reach out and make new friendships this year so the freshman would feel more comfortable. As a section leader, I have
I believe, that many of us know that like Chris McCandless that we all have way too many “unnecessary baggages” and have things that we all cannot live without as well. With each person those things are different. Of course, that there are things that we all need because of the culture and the time period that we all live in, such as, car, cell phone, internet, and computer are some of the few examples that I could list of the top of my head. Now that I look into my own life, there are many “unnecessary baggages” in my life that I have and there are also somethings that I just simply cannot live without and i would not trade them for anything with. I personally need my Bible, food, water, and clothing. Because they are essential to life,
Survival is indeed a word that can change a human’s perspective on what they need to do to remain alive. In order to survive, people have been known to go to great lengths and to do things they would not ordinarily do. I have noticed this throughout my life by watching movies, and reading books. Most of the time, it is the main character who comes face to face with death, and does anything to keep themselves alive. I have set up a few great examples that show’s people in their survival situations, and what they will do to get out alive.
My first item on my essentials list is a healthy lifestyle. Maintaining a good quality of health in your life is essential because it decides how long you
These include a space ship, food, water, hygiene, and music. A space ship is necessary because you need something to protect you from the cold vacuum of space. Without a space ship, whether just your suit or a vehicle, you can only survive 15 seconds. Also, a space ship will clean waste water and air, as well as remove flammable gases like methane from the ship.

In order to survive an extreme situation, there are many things you need to have. Not all these things are physical things, though. Sure, you need things like water, rafts, and a flashlight, but you especially need the education. You need to pay attention to small details and survive based on the education you have received for the past years. You need to know things like “white and yellow kill a fellow, purple and blue good for you.” You need to keep in mind what to apply to your skin if you get a cut or how many times to shoot the gun to get attention from people who can help. Staying alert is also very important, it can keep you from getting killed. You don’t know what animals can be out there to easily eat you in your sleep. You need the
