Most people have some experience in life with a bad job. Many factors such as low pay, horrible management, feeling underappreciated, poor hours, dissatisfaction with the job are some of the factors that may contribute to an awful job experience; I have been through my own personal experience of staying at a bad job because I needed the paycheck, so I know just how difficult the situation can be. However, many people continue to stay at the horrible job because they need to provide for their family, yet it is possible to find a better job that does not come at the expense of your satisfaction in the workplace. My current job at OB Warehouse is a better work environment than my previous job at Forever 21 because of the co-workers, hours, and the management. One important aspect of the workplace are the co-workers. At Forever 21, most of the employees did not support the other members on the team. We did not act like a team; we were not communicating with each other. Most of my co-workers did not realize how vital teamwork is for the customers to have the best experience possible in our store. For example, one time I had a customer asking for a dress in a size …show more content…
I have learned from my own personal experience in the workforce that it is possible to leave a bad job and find a better one. Working at Forever 21 was an awful experience for me, but when I got to OB Warehouse; I realized that it is possible to pay my bills and enjoy being at work. There is hope even in a hard situation, such as being stuck at horrible job where you dread going to work. You deserve to have a thriving and positive work environment in addition, you still can still pay the bills and provide for your family. Your happiness in the workplace does not come at the expense of bills and provision for the

However, I ended up getting hired at the Walmart distribution center, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Although we still have to live paycheck to paycheck, we can now manage to pay the bills and put food on the table without as much stress as before.
Having a job that pays a lot, and not fun to you, then what’s the point of working for it? If you can’t see yourself doing something and you go just for the money, you will not be happy. Would you rather get up knowing you could make a change, and happy with what you’re doing; or getting up mad not wanting to go somewhere to work but you have to, to pay off bills. If you want to work for something, do something you like.
Growing up all my friends had perfect jobs for teenagers. As a teenager, I spent a lot of time applying for jobs and searching for places to work because money didn’t come easy and I wanted to be in control of my own money. But I could never score a job. I applied to at least 100 jobs at least twice and I still couldn’t get an opportunity.
In today’s environment of companies doing business in a global economy, teamwork is essential. “Employees working in effective teams help increase productivity, employee involvement, and contribution, while reducing costs and flattening organizational structure (Adams, 2003). In contrast, ineffective teams can cause increased costs, waste valuable time, and contribute to losses in market share (Ross, Jones, & Adams, 2008)” quotes Jean McAtavey and Irena Nikolovska in an article in Human Resource Development Quarterly. Today, teamwork is found in virtually all workplaces.
Overall company will find it extremely hard to succeed without the support of teams. Work group members will not only help each other improve their performance but also help improve the performance of the business. Teamwork allows them to learn to trust and respect each other; this will come in handy when the business is forced to deal with a loss of a team member or loss in revenue. Creating strong hard working teams will benefit a business in the short-run as well as in the long-run. That’s what business of the 21st century should strive for.
This job was physically and mentally demanding of my energy. I worked anywhere from ten to thirteen hour days; my stress level sky rocketed, and my school work started to suffer, eventually I dropped out of school because I was miserable at this job; the stress was so high; I had major mood swings, and I did not know what to do.
In bad jobs, you can easily be fired and you receive few benefits and chance for promotions are few. Good jobs require higher levels of education and they pay really well and the environment is also really good. The good jobs are not closely supervised and they encourage worker to put their ideas. The good jobs offer secure employment, benefits and lots of opportunities for promotion. In good jobs, if you are working in one company more than one year, the company will give you two weeks of paid vacation. With good jobs, the company gives you security. Most of the jabs fell into bad jobs are good jobs. According to the book, bad jobs are often called “dead-end”. People also do the full and part time jobs, even if those jobs are in a good or bad category. Some part-times have good jobs and bad jobs. In part-time bad jobs, you face of low pay, lack of job security and no outlet for creativity. In the book, it says that McDonald’s employee interviewed by one sociologist, “this isn’t really a job…. It’s about as low as you can get. Everybody knows it”. (Page
Almost everyone has had the misfortune of having a leader that should not be in the position of leading others. Unfortunately, I have been in that position. I have had bad managers and supervisors in not just one job, but in two entirely different jobs. One of the jobs was a nutrition associate in a hospital kitchen. The other job was at the restaurant, Cracker Barrel, as a hostess. I will be pulling my experience from both jobs to explain why these leaders were not fit for the position that they held and what they could have done different to be a more effective leader.
Organizations use teamwork because it increases productivity. This concept was used in corporations as early as the 1920s, but it has become increasingly important in recent years as employ...
Another reason may also come from an employee getting a good, decent salary. This not only improves the job satisfaction, but gives the member of staff an understanding of the fact that they get fair payment for their labors. “[But] if an employee does not get satisfaction in their work, they may seek satisfaction in other work unrelated areas. He or she may also be content with work as it relates to those work-related areas. Job dissatisfaction may also cause an employee to quit” (Robbins).
... have to be combined to create one big idea and this is where group dynamics comes into play. Employees have to be interpersonal with each other and trust one another's opinions in order to move together as a team when promoting the retailer's brand as one whole. It goes without saying that as technology develops, the retail industry will innovate and emerge with new sectors, brands, products, and services to provide for the growing needs of consumers and the emerging economy. There will always be an increase in emerging themes as the priorities of consumers change from one generation to another. Lastly, the most important thing that I would take with me to work experience is the motivation and encouraging; I will constantly encourage any of my team members when they require it and give them good constructive feedback that they can later implement into their work.
You might not really be unhappy about the industry or your style of work. It might just be the organisation or the team that doesn’t suit you. you could end up being happy doing what you are doing now but by changing the company or taking a small break from it all – there are tons of routes to explore if you find yourself unhappy at work.
Have you ever been beaten down by your own confidence? It is supposed to help you succeed, but instead, it once made me blinded from the fact that I am not perfect. There is always a chance of failure if I don’t try my best. In fact, I did fail getting into my dream high school.
Around the age of seven I started going to first grade so my parents’ focus went all on that. Everyday I could hear my mom screaming be careful and especially she would say, “don’t take candy from strangers” which was getting annoying day by day. The idea of values started when I was going to school because before that I was at home and even when I wasn’t, I was still with my parents. The reason why they cared so much was because I was their only child and they wanted me to learn everything and be smart about whatever that was happening around me. When it was around their grade, I started to be a part of a concrete operational stage, and started to think logically about the world around me. One of my favorite subjects in school was mathematics.
