Ms.Arshad recently graduated college with her major in Bio-Chemistry. During her interview, she shared her unique story of her life-changing decision in college. Ms.Arshad was a half working student in college. Due her half working experience, she missed out the fundamental of college life. I guess I can say I accidentally found my profession of being an educator. What inspired me to choose as an educator was the feeling of being a leader. Initially, I didn’t believe I would like to become as an educator. I wanted to became a physician or a doctor. I was genuinely interested in the field of Chemistry and Biology. I was major in Bio-Chemistry and minor in education from college. However, the responsibilities and financial difficulties confronted my plans.
I have a little sister who I needed to support. She is my only family member in this country. We both came from a divorced family, and I felt obligated because I am her only family member in this country. I am the shoulder for her to climb. I always admire studying pre-medical, but my responsibilities confronted me. I have to employ multiple jobs to support our financial needs. There was a program in college that allowed students to take the courses while getting paid. I desired for a financial opportunity at that time. The program was involved in the process of education. At first, I doubt myself that I would like to be an educator. Ironically, I fell in love with the idea of teaching and making an impact in the student’s life.
