Literacy, which means the ability to read and write. Literacy is the backbone and overall structure to learning any information, without that, our world would be very struggling. During this essay, I would like to talk about my English literacy history, and how it has been influenced and developed throughout portions of my life.
Mostly of people stereotypes about the Chinese and Taiwanese or any other eastern Asians people has to study all the time since they study in elementary to high school, and I would say that is entirely accurate. Most of the Taiwanese students not just only go to school, but also go another place to keep study after the school time until the night. Mostly of Asians student have to go “Bu-xi-ban”. This word was not often appearing in the U.S. Bu-xi-ban is like educational institute or test prep school. In my hometown, our education system is more focus on the English learning than others subject. I went to the English class called “Happy Hippo English school” after school four times in a week. Our teachers are all come from Europe and America, and the class claimed no one could speak Chinese while students step into this building, it made me very scare at that time. Their strategies to help to learn English force me to use English for everything. In the beginning, I felt very desperate and try to run away several times, I try to have a talk with my mom, could I leave there? And my mom was mad at me.
