For grades 6th8th I attended T.J Elder middle school. Going to the 6th grade was interesting, because students who lived in city over called Tennille attended the school also. I got to make new friends and meet people I did not know from primary and elementary school. The work was hard in middle school, but I manage to do well and was placed on the merit list every year. I participated in cheerleading, track & field, beta club, and technology club. When those activities were over or did not meet, I just went home and watched tv and get ready for the next day. In High school, I attended Washington County High. This was the time of my life, where I tried to figure out what I wanted to do after High school. In high school, I was involved in football and basketball cheerleading, track field, octagon club, and upward bound. I participated in sports 9th-10th. IN the 10th grade I turned 16 and started searching for my first job. I started working at Waffle House, and enjoyed it. I had to stop participating in sports, because I always tried to work 40 hours to support my family. Having to worked a lot made me mature more than others, and caused me to miss out on being a regular high …show more content…
I had to write a letter stating why I wanted to take a AP course and why I would benefit from it. I was placed in AP psychology. The teacher was a college professor who taught in a way where it prepared us for college. He class was hard but interesting and I learned a lot. A big memory of high school was my 12th grade honors night. I received 8 scholarships. These were local scholarships that the schools let the graduation class apply for. I was surprised I received that many. I was the 2nd top recipient of the night next to the valedictorian. A lot of my class was shocked because I am not in the top 10% in my class. This moment showed me that hard works pays off and I can accomplish
I was on the AMS Battle of The Books team, which won the county competition and continued to Regionals. Since sixth grade, I have been included in the Honor Society and have maintained a high honor roll for three years. Currently, I am the vice president of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). Athletic wise, I was on the volleyball team in both seventh and eighth grade. Education is not all about fun and games, there is hard work and strong commitment involved.
As a child I was not in to many sports or involved in school activities. Going through high school I figured out that being involved in a sport or a school club would make my high school experience better. The first and only sport I chose to do was track. Track changed my whole high school experience and life. I learned to never give up, and it kept me out of trouble throughout my four years of high school.
I’ve always been the type of person that truly enjoys athletics and have participated in nearly all sports offered to me. I started playing sports in elementary with club softball and basketball. As I entered my middle and high school years I was able to add the school sanctioned sports to my list of activities. This afforded me the opportunity of competing in volleyball, basketball, golf, track and softball. The camaraderie and life lessons of sports seemed invaluable to me.
I spent grades 4-8 in Wellsburg. Middle school was a very good experience, but I was ready for high school. I loved middle school because we got recess after lunch every day. In my opinion the lunches were better there too. Instead of having advisors, we had B.E.S.T. groups that changed yearly. A few of the things I disliked about middle school was that we couldn’t chew gum or have our phone out throughout the day. The teachers were more
My 8th grade year of high school I was on the softball and basketball team. My freshman year I was on the basketball and softball team, and a BHS Dazzler which is danceline. Softball was my main sport, but I did everything else until it was time to play softball. I feel in love with softball at an early age. I would play every summer and each year my love for the sport grew. Each year when I played softball in Vidalia or Jonesville I would make all-stars.
The scholarship is funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I had to complete a personal statement essay, get recommendations and also have an interview. It was a competitive scholarship I knew it was because some of my classmates who applied weren’t accepted into the scholarship program. It was an amazing opportunity and it jump started my future in many ways. I had the chance to attend a college for a week to gain some college experience and also meet new people. It was amazing and I knew that god gave me the knowledge and the strength to get the scholarship.
I went to Rosemary Kennedy for preschool in Riverside, from what I remember I loved every second of it. I made friends that I still have and learned skills that I still use to this age. When I got to Loma Vista middle school, I was only in sixth grade. The city started a new rule where six graders
I have a very active lifestyle resulting in a wide variety of interests outside of the classroom. I have always had a deep life-long passion for sports. I represented my high schools varsity volleyball and basketball teams as well as partaking in an adult slow-pitch softball league throughout high school and into college. Other sports and activities I enjoy include Tae-kwon-do, soccer, fast-pitch softball, tennis, callisthenic and weighted workouts, running, hiking and biking.
Throughout my high school career, I have done sports. I did Circlet, swimming and rugby. High School, especially matric is known to quite stressful and full of lots of work and it was certainly for me. What those sports provided me was an escape, an escape from all the work, stresses and problems that did came in to my life. I not only did those sports to escape but to meet new people, create new friendships, to experience a family outside of home and also to form a brotherhood.
Early childhood I was involved in playing two sports which were basketball and football until the time came that I had to choose one. My initial decision was basketball until I was influenced to switch sports by my closest friends just when I thought I was committed in playing basketball. My parents were not very keen on me playing sports, but had tons of support from my friends and siblings. The high school I attended which was Alief Taylor high school had a very strong recruiting system which was because of the coaches we had and talented athletes. Teachers and coaches played a huge role on my future while I was in high school and it was up to me determine how my future was going to be. I was not a varsity football player until my senior year and were many time when I felt like I was going to quit, but my friends and coaches recognized that I had talent and continued to
My greatest accomplishment is my family. It may not seem like an accomplishment to most people, but in my eyes it is huge. I had the impression growing up that if my parents did not seem happy, how could I ever possibly make marriage work for me. By the late 1980’s when I was in high school, I swore I would never marry and never have kids. Eventually I did change my mind, reluctantly I might add. We as humans learn to live by example and my parents were not always the best examples. I come from a military family, my father was in the Navy for 23 years. Leaving my Mom to raise my younger brother and me. So every three years we felt like a single parent family when sea duty rolled around. I always felt like my Father choose to leave us when he went on a cruise for six month. Now I understand that it was a necessity in order for my parents to stay together. In a since, what I’m saying is the separation eventually made us a better family. The heart sometimes needs to miss someone in order to know how it feels about them. Sometime my Mother and I both wish my Father would go away for a little while. I would not object to him take my husband with him as long as they come back. The one person who was able to get me to consider settling down was a former Marine. That I’m still married to after ten years and three children.
All About Me Newspaper A Life Changing Accomplishment Throughout every school year music festivals and events are held by the PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators Association). These festivals are held for students to test their musical mettle against one another for spots and placements. With each advancement comes a new round of competition for each student that places in the qualifying ranks.
I would attend the school pep rallies, football games, join the school powerlifting club, and school dances like Homecoming and Prom. Although these annual school events were fun and memorable, volunteering for community service hours holds a special relationship with me. It helped me realize my passion for helping people in a socially and physical way. This passion accompanied with my hobby of exercising led me to pursue the career of a physical therapist. In general, the experiences and lessons that I’ve adopted in American Canyon High School was truly life changing, and I’m grateful for it everyday.
My parents always tell me how proud they are of me and all i’ve accomplished in my life at such a young age. I’ve always been known as the “responsible one”, or the “smart one” out of all my friends. I’ve always been the one to remind my friends about tests or reports that are due, and they always ask what they would do without me.
During high school I participated in dance team, football and basketball cheerleading, marching band, color guard, concert band, jazz band, pep band, choir, select choir, drama, Resistance Skills Leaders, National Honor Society, GSA, Skills, Big Buddy, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and speech. I always had something to do, and I enjoyed staying busy. Participating helped me find a place in school. In big school participating gives you a new group of friends. Perry is not very big, so everyone that I was on a team with, I already knew. Doing all of the extra curricular activities that I did, really helped me develop strong emotional bonds with many people that I knew. It taught me to encourage others and that positive reinforcement will always work better than punishments. It showed me that being a leader isn’t about because the person with all of the ideas or the most vocal person, but being the person that inspires others to be creative and help share their thoughts and to lead them in the right direction.
