Human behavior is defined as the response of an individual to its environment. The definition would define human behavior as being nurture rather that nature. Although most people think of themselves as individuals able to make their own choices in respect to behavior, there is often a strong tendency to conform to group patterns and high expectations but, in some cases this behavior leads to insecurity and disappointments and moreover these individuals can develop a fear of failure: as a person, in society but in life in general. The fear of failure can become a very powerful force in each choice we make and each endeavor we undertake. While sometimes this fear can motivate us to succeed, other times it can defeat us, preventing us from pursuing …show more content…
Also I have a fear of heights, of drowning and of several other tangible things. However, I believe that when confronted with those, I will probably be able to deal with them in some form or another. For me, the fear of nonperformance, the fear of failure, the fear of not living up to expectations (my own, more than anyone else’s) is what I consider to be my biggest in life. I can attribute a lot of my personality traits and obsessive behaviors to this fear of failure in life. I have always let my fear of failure and not being good enough to control my life and to keep me from enjoying it. What I need is to believe in my self, in my capabilities and to have good thoughts as well. I 'll change the thoughts of negativity and fear to those of optimism and positivity. It is impossible to please everyone. Therefore, I 'll have my own expectations to …show more content…
Imagining how life will be after you 've reached your goal is a great motivator to keep you moving forward.
Start by taking one small step at a time like taking an extra ten minutes of your day to meditated and come down to terms that you are in the right path and nothing will distracted you from reaching your goals. This meditation I find it extremely helpful to build confidence, keep moving forward, and find peace within yourself to prevent you from getting overwhelmed with visions of your final goal. Our fears of failure can limit us and keep us from living the life we want to. When we inevitably experience rejection or disappointment, we have to be hardy in our way of coping with these struggles. Fear of failure can change people for good or bad. However this isn’t true for all people. Some people accept failure and learn from it so next time they can succeed. I’m kind of a mixture of both. If the subject I failed at takes long to do I have fear. If it’s important, necessary or something I want to do I like to learn from my
This affects me as a person because facing my fear and overcoming it is really hard to me because I usually don’t face my fear in person because I usually face my fear in dreams and I don’t like seeing it. I remember in the past when I got so mad and almost got into a rage mode which made me feel really bad in the inside. My sister got me really mad by doing something I told her not to do, but instead of myself getting really mad, I was able to handle my anger and not get really mad. I got really happy because I was able to overcome my fear of not getting really mad and not feeling really bad in the inside. A future fear is me not doing good in school or other sport activities. To me this is a big fear because when I do bad in swimming and school then I get in trouble by my parents but if I do good in swimming and school then my parents get proud of me. If I do good in swimming and school then it means I am overcoming my fear of my parents getting mad at
...t you want to do”. To me, my dreams of “Where I am Going” motivates me as I make different choices in life. These are things I desire as goals for myself
Humans are complex beings. We have different motivations, goals, and aspirations, but what influences us to have these goals? What motivates us to strive for them? Daniel Gilbert, in his essay “Immune to Reality” states we have unconscious processes that influence our behaviors, and also that we heavily rely on acceptance from others. The social pressures we experience on a day-to-day basis are what influence us to change and adapt.
Fear of failure is the third roadblock to relationships. This is when people are scared to get into a relationship. I do not suffer from this roadblock. I believe that if you don’t try and fail sometimes you have zero chance of trying and succeeding.
Fear influences people to make irrational decisions and take extreme measures. Often times, these actions are done to protect one’s reputation. Fear causes people to lie and manipulate to those they care about in order to escape what they are scared of most. Fear of failure has caused higher levels of anxiety, and has made society put blame on each other, rather than owning up to their mistakes. Fear can also cause one to forget one’s true identity and lose one’s values. There are two options that one can take when being faced with a fear: run away from the fear, or go through it and learn a valuable lesson in the end that will make you a stronger person. Fear is a harmful emotion that everyone has to go through in order to succeed.
The fear of failure is a frequent battle found within me. Often, because of this fear I struggle with self-belief, so much so that I hesitate to pursue something I desire the first time opportunity arises. Usually, I need to steadily muster up enough courage before seeking it.Consequently in some instances it is already too late. Fear of failure impedes my progression and in turn I lose sight of my aspirations. In the novel The Alchemist, the Alchemist tells Santiago during his final task, when he is asked to turn himself into the wind that nothing is impossible: "There is only one thing that makes dreams impossible to achieve: The fear of failure" (141). I find I am able to relate to Santiago in this situation due to my athletic history. Whenever, I try-out for a team I always feel anxious and nervous. "What if I am not good enough?" or "What if I do not make it?" are two questions I ask myself every time. I question my abilities and skills and everything that I have accomplished thus far is no longer comforting. I then convince myself that failure is inevitable and therefore do not bring fo...
One of the most intriguing science-and-culture debates of the twentieth century is that of the origin of behavior. The issue that has its roots in biology and psychology is popularly framed as the "nature versus nurture" debate. At different points in time, consensus has swung from one to the other as the supposed cause of our actions. These changes are not only the result of an internal dynamic but were subject (as they are today) to external influences, most notably politics and developments in other academic disciplines. The oversimplified polarities in this case-study illustrate an important characteristic of the larger scientific process. In search of a more refined theory, these are the necessary stepping stones in the attempt to get it 'less wrong'.
Behavior can be defined as an individual’s response to an action. The provoked feeling that propels someone to move or strike is a general example of behavior. Behavior is influenced by many different factors and comes forth in different forms. Some examples of these factors include one’s genetic makeup, environment, individual thoughts, and feelings. What makes one person’s behavior uniquely different from another comes from the diversity of the world, in terms of different habits, cultures and sex. This diversity is what sets individual behavior apart from one another. However, does this mean that people are wired to function according to the expectancy of society? In order to answer this question, it is essential to understand how the effects
But fear doesn't get you anywhere in life. I must have a positive attitude towards everything I do. Most of the time I dont fail, but when I do, I remind myself that it's okay. I have to fail to become better.
Fear is often seen as a weakness or a flaw; however fear can also have some perks in certain situations. Over time people have started to use fear in their favor rather than letting it hold them back. Fear can actually be used to help people prepare for future events, but it can also negatively impact a person’s decisions. If you learn how to properly manage your fear you can use it to your advantage.
Human nature is characteristics that generally apply to all people. It is our natural habits such as being impatient, wanting to be accepted, and so on. It is within human nature that peopl...
Negative fears are mostly caused by reflecting on things that have happened and then using that knowledge to come to realization of the fear in a current situation. When we fear negatively, it leads us away from making positive choices. Although fear can be seen as something to make us stronger, it is ultimately what creates failure. Shirley Maclai said, “Fear makes strangers of people who would be friends.” Fears hold us back and don't let us explore new things. It prevents us from taking the chances that might lead to happiness or success. It can also prevent us from making the right choices that create safety for others. In the hot zone, an example of this came u...
Fear. A word that has controlled my entire life. I would not be able to move faster than possible, fight harder than possible, or think harder than possible without the most powerful impulse of the human spirit, fear. If you asked me three years ago if I’m scared of success, I would simply tell you no. I wasn’t afraid because I had no clue what it took to be successful. I believed things were going to be handed to me, so my desire to achieve something was blocked by stubbornness. As of now, I fear success. Behind every fear, is a person that I want to be. Fear either creates you, or it destroys you. Personally, it has made me into the man I am today, someone who turns that fear into a whole new monster called hard work. It pushes me to create
Clearly failure is not something for you to fear of. Success is good but it usually make you corky and greedy, where failure give you self-realization and self-examination. So do not be afraid of failure, just put everything you have in to what you doing. Sometime you win sometime you learn. Because if you are so afraid of failure and won’t learn from it, you can literally fail your way to success. Like a wise man said: “Even a broken clock is right twice a
Failure is something in life that everyone is afraid of. Failure is apart of everyone’s life at some point whether it’s in a sport, at school, or even just a part of daily life. Failure can be in taken in two ways, one; you can take the failure in as a challenge and push to strive better and never want to fail again, or two; take failure in bad and not want to try harder and just give up without after failing once. Some of the richest or even successful people in life have had failures. The famous basketball player Michael Jordan, when he was a sophomore he tried out for the varsity basketball team and didn’t make it. But if it wasn’t for that failure in his life he would of have never tried his hardest to end up becoming one of the best NBA players in history and have one of the most successful shoe brands. That’s just one of the many successful people who had failures in life.
