Fear. A word that has controlled my entire life. I would not be able to move faster than possible, fight harder than possible, or think harder than possible without the most powerful impulse of the human spirit, fear. If you asked me three years ago if I’m scared of success, I would simply tell you no. I wasn’t afraid because I had no clue what it took to be successful. I believed things were going to be handed to me, so my desire to achieve something was blocked by stubbornness. As of now, I fear success. Behind every fear, is a person that I want to be. Fear either creates you, or it destroys you. Personally, it has made me into the man I am today, someone who turns that fear into a whole new monster called hard work. It pushes me to create …show more content…
Because of my artistic background, I look at my surroundings as constant motivation to create. Steve Jobs is a big believer in turning fears into motivation, and he portrayed that into the creation of Pixar, a place where I have always dreamed of working. That same dream has always included going through the Visualization program at Texas A&M in College Station. I want to see my name in the “notable alumni’s” section of the website as a way to persuade the younger generations to attend. To show that A&M inspires the creative student to reach their potential and change the way people see the world. Most people don’t understand what it takes to design something. They believe all it takes is a pencil and paper. Those are the individuals that I enjoy being around, solely because I get to see the amazement in their eyes when I show them different. Whether it is through machine, pencil and paper, sculpture, or any other media of art, I have the ability to create life, maybe not physically, but emotionally. Through the lessons I get from this program I can make that new Disney movie every kid wants to see. The ability to make a person laugh, cry, or think of a better
Fear is a powerful emotion. Wikipedia.com describes fear as “an emotion induced by threat perceived by living entities, which causes a change in brain and organ function and ultimately change behavior, such as running away, hiding or freezing from traumatic events.”Most people tend to avoid fearful situations, not realizing that something positive may come out of the event or experience. Victor Villaseñor focuses on the topic of fear in his novel titled Burro Genius. Villaseñor demonstrates to readers how growing up he was extremely fearful of any situation. Victor also tells his readers how he turned his fear into motivation into motivation to keep going and reach his ultimate goal of becoming a published author.
In When Success Leads to Failure, Jessica Lahey is faced with a tough situation involving a student, whose love for learning is fading, and a parent who does not seem to understand why. Lahey establishes that parents are starting to teach children to fear failure, and the fear is what is destroying their love for learning (Lahey). I support Lahey’s proposition that kids are beginning to hate learning because children are taught that failure is not an option. In today’s society, many teachers and especially parents push children to only strive for success and to fear failure, which results in many children’s growing hatred for learning.
Everyone chases after happiness. Everyone’s goal of life is being happy. Each of them chooses a variety of measures, such as earning money, to be happy. However, there are many people that are not happy. People always endeavor after happiness, but they never reach it. For what reason are they not able to fulfill their standards of happiness? Fear motivates many people to act upon matters, right or wrong. This emotion has been important in many events in both works of literature, and in the real world. It has forced military geniuses into retreat, and influenced them to plan another method of attack. Fear can be both a positive and a negative acting force in one’s life, a quality that can motivate one to success as well as to downfall.
At the outset of the selected topic concerning Motivation and Satisfaction, it is imperative to clarify and elucidate what both these terms – Motivation; and Satisfaction– actually mean and connote in the psychological framework.
Fear influences people to make irrational decisions and take extreme measures. Often times, these actions are done to protect one’s reputation. Fear causes people to lie and manipulate to those they care about in order to escape what they are scared of most. Fear of failure has caused higher levels of anxiety, and has made society put blame on each other, rather than owning up to their mistakes. Fear can also cause one to forget one’s true identity and lose one’s values. There are two options that one can take when being faced with a fear: run away from the fear, or go through it and learn a valuable lesson in the end that will make you a stronger person. Fear is a harmful emotion that everyone has to go through in order to succeed.
The word fear makes my mind draw a blank. I am trying to make sense of it but I can not, at least not for everyone. It is a word that is left up to a person’s digression. It almost seems unfair to have a clear cookie-cutter definition of what it is. The word is too broad to be sectioned off by one definition.
The conclusion that I made is everybody has a certain fear that they live with throughout their lives, so having the ability to exist everyday with that certain fear can be overwhelming, but can cause inspiration for someone battling the same fear. Moreover, fear can bring the best values and experiences to us and the more time that we allow fear to bring us down, the more we will allow fear to conquer our lives. For example, the biggest component that can assign anyone while experiencing fear is
You are standing on the edge of a boat, absolutely terrified of jumping in. All of your friends have told you facts about how rare it is to be bit by a shark, but you are still terrified. Most of your friends have jumped in, encouraging you to come in. They all try to coax you in by explaining how irrational your fear is. You have already done research about this stretch of water and know that there are no sharks in the water, but you are still scared. You shake your head at your friends and run back inside the boat, feeling relieved. This irrational fear is called a phobia.
College is hard, scary, and stressful especially with children involved. I think it is a good thing I went to college when I did otherwise, I would be stuck in the same minimum wage job that I have had for the past year. It is going to be hard and stressful but the truth is that were all scared. It is just a matter of pushing myself into getting where I want to be. My main fear with college is mainly flunking out, it is scary but, it is also achievable. I thought to myself, “Hey, if my best friend can go to college then why I can I not”. There was three things that pushed me into going to college. Those are: getting a better job so I can spoil my children, continuing my education, and to be a role model for my children.
Fear is a human emotion everyone dislikes. Fear is in every person with no exception. It can be difficult problem to solve. We can overcome our fears by challenging ourselves by analyzing fear and developing a growth mindset.
I believe that hard work is the real treasure of a person because without hard work we cannot achieve our dreams and goals in life. No one can achieve success without doing hard work. It starts when we stop looking for alternatives or shortcuts towards success. We need to remember that there are no short cuts to success. Hard work, complimented with an intense desire to struggle and to achieve success is the only sure way of reaching success that you have always wanted. Hard work is one of the secret for us to be successful in life. Laziness and sluggishness makes one’s life a curse and only hard work can make your life a blessing. We cannot work hard if we don’t have goals. The meaning of goal according to Wikipedia is a desired result of a
Fear is the reason why students are writing an essay for a class. Fear is the anxiety of receiving a failing mark to a final exam that we never show to our parents. Fear is the uneasiness that we feel when our parents learn about a stupid thing that could make them disappointed. Fear is the inability to walk to a dark corridor after watching a horror movie. Fear is the negative state of mind that hinders us from doing anything. These are how we usually describe fear, danger, and suffering, the feeling of uneasiness that overwhelms our body. Understanding the true nature of fear gives us purpose and motivation to do better.
“The failure is the mother of success” this Chinese quote said that failure is not the end. Failure is where people learn from their mistake. People cannot be successful all the time. Indeed, there are many people who learned from their failures before being successful. Each failure that people had met is a helpful lesson and valuable experience to help them become a better person.
Fear of failure, I know this phrase very well. It allows the fear to stop me doing the things that can move me towards achieving my goals. When I look back at my fears, I grasp the moment that I have been so afraid of failing that I decided against it and I lost some great once in a lifetime opportunities. Fear of failure subconsciously; hint at, I weakened my own efforts to escape the risk of a higher failure. Many of us have possibly faced this at one time in our lifetime. The fear of failing can be restraining. It can cause us to stop the forward progress in life; we are probable to miss some huge opportunities along the way. Everyone describes failure differently, since we all have diverse expectations, and wishes. However, there’s something
