Speaking kindly to another person is one way to reach a person's heart. If a person speaks kindly to another person, then the person who is on the receiving end of the conversation would most likely be happy or upbeat about the outcome of what had been spoken. Throughout my life, I have been spoken kindly to by a select few people. I have also spoken to people kindly. My best friend speaks kindly to me each day, whether it may be through a text, snapchat, direct message, or face-to-face contact. We have a kind of best friend-lover relationship so we usually talk nice towards each other everyday. Anyways, my best friend told me something kind of different and new one night during our usual conversation. She sent a really nice snapchat
Dan Greenburg explains in, “Sound and Fury”, how a simple kind words can avoid “a minor act of provocation” (464). In today’s society, people tend to overlook what they say and how they say it to avoid any dramatic event. People have a tendency to put their pride before thinking, which causes theatric event as explain when Dan Greenburg mention, “we carry around a lot of free-floating anger” (463). Holding in anger cause people to overreact an action that could have been handle in different kind of situation. A person should put their emotion a side and think about what kind of consequences their actions can bring. Today, people are always getting in fights in bars or school footballs game which shatters other people’s fun. It makes people
In life there are always obstacles that are tough. Using your politeness and kindness goes a long way. When someone helped me with my self-esteem I started to believe in myself more. I’m glad I got helped out and I had thanked them for helping me like the kindness in the Odyssey. On King Alcinous Island,
It’s very simple, but creates a world of difference. This means so much to me, in so many ways. Kindness will make a person feel better, even if they aren’t that way themselves. I’ve seen the change simple kindness can make. It can change the outlook on someone’s life, or give someone a little hope.
“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see” – Mark Twain.
Politeness is known as a courteous manner that displays respects, show deference in society where people live and communicate together (OED online). Furthermore, according to Brown and Levinson (19780, politeness theory is the speaker’s expressions use toward receiver in soft manner of Face Threaten Acts (FTAs) to saving face of addressees. There are four main strategies in politeness theory as: bald-on record, positive politeness, negative politeness and off record. Bald- on record, a type is commonly with people known each other very well and very comfortable in their environment, is reduce the impact of FTAs. Off record is removing the speakers from any imposition whatsoever (Zhan, 1992). “Positive politeness is redress directed to addressee’s positive face” (Brown and Levinson, 1978, p. 101), while negative politeness is making a request less intrude into a person’s private.
Authority is ‘the power to require and receive submission (The Pocket English Dictionary); authority is used in many conversations every day and without authority power could not be exerted easily. Power, meaning ‘a position of control, authority or influence over others’ (The Pocket English Dictionary) and is usually used to gain control or influence. As well as everyday situations in many transcripts power and authority are shown by demonstrating different techniques, therefore I will scrutinise these and their uses in two transcripts. Within lessons, I have found it interesting how different jargons are used during different contexts and how in some cases formalise a speech or interview response.
The virtue of kindness is not meek it is not niceness. Kindness holds firm to its foundation and values, but it does it in a way that is gentle. Kindness is not naïve, it is wise and discerning (Corey, 211). People confuse being nice as kindness because on the outside both are soft. The inside is what shows the difference. Niceness has no substance, it will go wherever society takes it. Kindness is different, it has a firm, solid center (Corey xv). The components of soft edges and firm centers make kindness warm and inviting and yet it remains deeply rooted to its core beliefs.
Having good manners towards others means acting in a manner that's socially acceptable and respectful. Telling people please and thank you are good manners towards others. When shopping for groceries and the baggier helps you carry them out, you should always tell them thank you. Say thank you when you receive anything from someone and please while requesting something. Consider
I never say anything mean to another person because I don’t know what’s going on with their life and anything even slightly rude could cause them pain, which is something I would never want to do. I always try want to be there for people. It doesn’t matter what they are going through: a breakup, frustration, stress, or their mind is burnt outdrained from all of their homework, I will try my best to be there for them to talk to and complain to. I am an excellent listener, mostly because I am a quiet person, but also because I just want to help people deal with whatever is going on with their lives, and I hope that, in return, they would do the same for
The purpose of this paper is not to teach you, or to show you how interpersonal communication is essential to everyday life at home or work. But, I am going to do my best to at least show you how essential communication skills are in all areas of life by using me as the example. My plan is to focus on some of the elements of interpersonal communication that we have been touching on this semester. While reading our Interpersonal Communications Book, three goals kept being highlighted that I personally wanted to accomplish by the end of course. I’m sure that by now have noticed that I keep referring to my topics as goals. The reason why I’m doing so is because I’m still on that learning curve…an ongoing process. If can recall back to all of our assignment in this course they all bring one collective point. That point is that, Interpersonal communication is an essential skill in everything that we do in life.
It isn’t always easy to be kind to others, nor is it easy to fake being kind. Some try to be kind by offering or showering one with stuff. People all around do this, they think giving people things equals being kind and fills heart the same way a compliment would. However, it does not work like that. One does not feel the same way after getting an object as they do when they are are told they look gorgeous, or when someone holds the door for them, or even when someone tries to be inclusive. Often when someone gifts something they do so expecting something in return, they did not do it out of kindness of their heart. A kind person is giving from their hearts, whereas those who give gifts thinking that is being kind are doing so to feel
Being nice to others as a daily principle of life, such as (hi), smiling, asking people how they are with showing real interest in knowing how they are, not just asking for asking.
Kindness is the key to most everything. Being kind means taking the high road, even when someone has wronged you. It means serving other people, even under inconvenient circumstances. It involves looking for the good in others, and even helping them to see the good in themselves. Kindness is spreading happiness to make other’s day better and by making them smile. Kindness is defending those who are picked on by others, sitting by those who are lonely, and saying hi to someone in the hall. Kindness is being someone who wants to build up those around them.
One reason that any act of kindness makes an impact is that some people need positivity. First off, one act of kindness could change the receiver’s life forever. There are many people in the world that struggle everyday, and motivation and kind acts can contribute to helping them throughout their life. Also, the receiver will have a positive mindset
A good friend must be kind because being kind is when they look out for you no matter what! If they hear girls talking about you, they are the friends that stop them. Friends look out for you even when you are arguing. A friend understands that you may not always get along but you should always try and be there for them and look out for them. Although this can be difficult at times, it proves how kind and loving you are. Another part of being kind is listening to one and another. Sometimes we don't care about what are friends have to say, but listening is really important. Listening shows that you value their friendship. Some friends only talk about themselves and never listen to your problems; that is not a good friend. Listening to each other helps you learn about the person as it shows character and tells that person you can count on them. In addition, being a ...
