The contemporary global economy has generated an unprecedented need for multinational corporations to reform their organizational structures to give them a better competitive chance in the international market. The intertwined associations, partnerships, and collaboration among international organizations define the attributes of the global economy. In order for Multi-National Companies to survive the frequent and devastating situations in the global market, they should incorporate the best and most effective organizational cultures. Linear-active groups involve those groups that have linear agendas, are always preplanning, links processes, and aim to achieve clearly stated goals with utmost prejudice (Lewis, 2012). On the other hand, multi-active groups characteristically have the pleasure of multi-tasking. Moreover, multi-active groups in an organizational culture improve the relationship within and among multi-national corporations.
Lewis (2012) suggests that multinational corporations should purpose to fill the ranks since the deviations and differences are a reflection of the culturally diverse global market. The global market serves diverse customers of different nationalities and incorporates the ideas from a diverse human resource pool in the formulation of policies and directives to determine the operations of a multinational organization; this is the most promising way for MNCs such as Microsoft. An international organization should bank on diversity since the rewards it ploughs back from the international exchanges of ideas and skills are more significant and are more of an advantage than a shortcoming. Organizational and corporate cultures are formal and informal. They can be studied by observation, by listening and interacting with people in the culture, by reading what the company says about its own culture, by understanding career path progressions, and by observing stories about the company. Solomon stated, “Corporate culture is related to ethics through the values and leadership styles that the leaders practice; the company model, the rituals and symbols that organizations value, and the way organizational executives and members communicate among themselves and with stakeholders. As a culture, the corporation defines not only jobs and roles; it also sets goals and establishes what counts as success” (Solomon, 1997, p.138).
