Pixels is a new movie in the genre of science fiction-action-comedy or games to movies genera. But like many of the movies beforehand in this minor genera of movies it stunk getting hammer with bad review and horrid scores, a good synopsis of why this movie was even created can be found in Roy Graham review of the movie this movies Pixels from this review it can be seen that Roy Graham knows a lot about 2 things 1 is movies the other is video games so from this interesting perspective we can see how the media incorrectly illuminates gaming in the current day. Pixels is movie about an group of outcast who just want to be accepted for what they love to do which in this case is play video games. The movie then goes on to an alien invasion in the form of retro video game characters, and conventional military weapons and tactics prove useless, and so the group of outcast nerds must band together and stop this alien threat, no not the trained military or professionals just a bunch of nerds. Now with a plot this flimsy people might ask how could a film on this idea even be consider for a film? Simple, because producers know people will at least go see it if it has some of their old favorite video game characters in it. They know it’s a safe market and that there less of a risk working with something that already has a pre-established fan based. This is why there are a lot of movies about video games out there and why they all pretty much suck. These 2 exclusive types of content need to be treated as such, 2 complete different things that should have no major correlation with one another. This is why movies about video games will continue to be made and they will also continue being terrible pieces of film. These movies continue to be... ... middle of paper ... ...only the movie but the idea of behind the movie. Using past examples of other movies that tried this concept and could not pull it off. Most people don’t like either prince of Persia or doom movies but loved the games. The points made in this article illustrates the main reason games and movies should not be intertwined. Because when you do no one tries hard to make a good movie, the fan base is pissed off and no one wins. In the end they company makes a quick buck but burn a lot of bridges to get there losing lots of trust and respect in the proses. These 2 great mediums for content should be treat as such 2 DIFFERENT mediums and given the respect they deserve. Movies need to find new ideas for movies and not reuse old completely unrelated mediums. They may make a lot of money off this kind of film but at the price of faith of the fans and the quality of reputation.
The Seven Five is a documentary that frivolously reexamines the crimes of Officer Michael Dowd and his team of dirty cops. Dowd is a former New York police officer who was stationed in the 75th Precinct in Eastern New York. The film presents the nefarious deeds of these officers via original interviews with Dowd and his former comrades as they recount their crimes and explain the reasoning behind their unethical behaviors. While working as a cop, he embellished his income through criminal exploits which include stealing guns, drugs, money, and eventually he began working in drug rings selling cocaine. Dowd’s felonious activities were extremely lucrative and earned him approximately $4,000 a week. Dowd was eventually arrested in 1992,

The author primarily appeals to the audience using logos. He brings statistics and data from research studies throughout the essay. He either provides background information on why the studies are misleading or just presents a fact. For instance, “According to a 2001 U.S. Surgeon General 's report, the strongest risk factors for school shootings centered on mental stability and the quality of home life, not media exposure” (Jenkins, “Reality Bytes: Eight Myths About Video Games Debunked”). He provides data like this through the essay. He is strongly trying to appeal to the audience’s sense of logic and

RPGs or role playing games are games in which the player takes on the roles of the characters and controls their actions in order to further character development. RPGs generally have a strong story and character back story that fully immerses the player in the fictional world. Final Fantasy 13 or FF13 for short is the 13th installment in the Final Fantasy franchise and it that falls under this genre of gaming. A game of this genre and style should strive to have well developed visuals, a complete story, full character backstories that are interesting, a non-linear gameplay, and a solid functioning combat system. These things among others are the backbone of games in general and meeting them in a way that creates an in-depth and fun experience is required. All these elements are existent in FF13 but some of them are not fine-tuned or developed enough in order to create an enjoyable experience. Based on those criteria Final Fantasy 13 falls short in compared to its previous installments and in the genre in general.

...their new creations. Cinematic techniques are now associated with video games which make it more interesting for gamers out there. It is like a two-in-one package where the player can interact with the game and can spectate as the cut scenes are playing. These two media highly influence each other. Films want to become like video games and video games want to become like films. In most cases though, video games get more techniques from old films than from the new films. Newer films are highly influenced by the newer video games. They get ideas and get inspired of how video games are able to manage to depict an extraordinary scene on screen by using special effects, 3-dimenesional images and computer-generated images (CGI). Thus, both films and video games find inspiration from each other that share encouraging set of transmedia synergies that make them successful.
With a vast amount of video games out there, there seems to be a similarity in most of
When one hears the word video games what is normally thought of? “Donkey Kong” possibly, or maybe the newer games like “Call of Duty” (COD) or “Halo” and “Grand Theft Auto” (GTA). Either way video games have gone though many advancements over the years. Since back in the 80’s when arcade games and games like “Donkey Kong” were around games could only go linearly up and down or left and right. For insistence in “Super Mario” the character could not move backwards only forwards and up and down (jumping). Now when looking back to those old, classic games they seem cheap, glossy and even not appealing to the new gamers of the current generation. This is because of the new development in games, such as, “Lara Croft Tomb Raider” where the graphics, sounds, vibrations from the controller makes the game so realistic. It’s almost as if those playing are in the game and are experiencing what ever it is the main character is going through. These games however fun and realistic they are, seem have a bad side affect to the youth. Games like GTA can affect the upbringing of young children who play even though they are not yet at a development stage to handle the level of violence in the game. There have been cases where children have reenacted the games, and many children who play start to think that the violence is okay.
For me, the story has to be worthwhile in order for the movie to have the same effect. The interesting thing is that Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle doesn’t put all that much care into the story. And the movie uses that to its advantage by using it to comment on video games. It’s your run-of-the-mill, copy-and-paste villain gets special powers and wants to take over the world (or in this case Jumanji, whatever that is, it’s not really explained) story. When exposition is given, the characters even comment about it being a cut scene, something gamers kind of have to watch, but don’t often care about.

The Review of Cinema [IMAGE]As part of my coursework I have to conduct a competitor analysis. This mean that I need to find out what services and products my competitors are providing, what prices they are selling their goods and services, the quality of their services, where they are located etc, so I can then use this information to get a competitive advantage. The first cinema I visited was ‘Ster Century Cinemas’ which is located Romford. I am going to find a map of this cinema and analysis about this cinema. [IMAGE] Location -------- 1-15
