RPGs or role playing games are games in which the player takes on the roles of the characters and controls their actions in order to further character development. RPGs generally have a strong story and character back story that fully immerses the player in the fictional world. Final Fantasy 13 or FF13 for short is the 13th installment in the Final Fantasy franchise and it that falls under this genre of gaming. A game of this genre and style should strive to have well developed visuals, a complete story, full character backstories that are interesting, a non-linear gameplay, and a solid functioning combat system. These things among others are the backbone of games in general and meeting them in a way that creates an in-depth and fun experience is required. All these elements are existent in FF13 but some of them are not fine-tuned or developed enough in order to create an enjoyable experience. Based on those criteria Final Fantasy 13 falls short in compared to its previous installments and in the genre in general.
All of the Final Fantasy installments have strong stories that are easy to understand and are ultimately enjoyable. Final Fantasy 13 doesn’t have this. Enter the floating sphere of Cocoon and the forbidden realm of Pulse that lies beneath. The main story begins with a clash between these two worlds. The story of the game begins with the purge of a city that is believed to have come in contact with something form Pulse. The main character, Lighting, is a soldier that goes against the government during this purge in order to save her sister who was changed into an l'Cie (a servant of Pulse). The story is then about a ragtag group of people who meet up during different events and join forces while running from the governm...

...erything is automated. The battles seem more like a movie sequence then a game and because of this it takes away the most interesting part of the game.
Overall this game fails in comparison to the games that came before it. The only good property of the game is the visuals in the fictional world and even though they are amazing, it isn’t enough to save the game. The complete slaughter of the story, characters, and combat system creates a game that is practically impossible to play. If you are new to the Final Fantasy franchise and have not played any of the other games then this game may be fine. If you are someone who has played the previous games then you will be greatly dissatisfied with this game. In the end developers should spend more time on gameplay then visuals because I would rather play a good game with bad artwork than a bad game with amazing visuals.
Obviously, I found much to like and little to fault in this current incarnation of The Fantasticks. I believe it works on so many levels because it chooses to tell a simple story simply. We can draw from it what we want. Like the characters themselves, we can choose to see what we want to see. Though we all know "happily ever after" seldom is, there is indeed a kind of "Happy Ending" feeling after seeing this production of The Fantasticks.
My Review of Full Metal Jacket In Stanley Kubrick’s film Full Metal Jacket, the emphasis is spotlighted on the carnage of boot camp and the soldier’s life in Vietnam. The life of a soldier is not an easy one, as it requires great diligence and much sacrifice to ensure the safety and freedom to all those who are afraid and those who seek it. Stanley Kubrick makes sure that we see the harshness and ugliness of the Vietnam War as it was made to be seen. The movie starts with the life of boot camp, getting marines ready to be sent and fight over in Vietnam. The relationship between Private Joker and Private Pyle appears when the Drill Sergeant Hartman makes Private Joker the squad leader. Private Joker, is to make certain that Gomer Pyle cleans his act up and bring an end to the burdens that Pyle has put on the whole squad. Although Private Joker is trying his best to clean up the Private Pyle’s mess, he has met his match, and ultimately sees Pyle as a problem. During the scene where everyone in the squad prepares to beat Pyle with bars of soap wrapped in towels it shows that Private Joker is somewhat hesitant at first, but eventually hits Private Pyle multiple times with heavy blows. Analyzing the relationship between the two privates can be said that Private Joker was trying to help Private Pyle as much as he could, until Private Pyle suddenly breaks and it is made clear when Private Pyle is talking to himself while he is cleaning his rifle. Yes boot camp can be living hell for those who are psychologically unfit and not able to cope during times of great stress, and this can often make certain people “snap”. Stanley Kubrick does a fine job focusing on the stresses of boot camp, especially as this is a time of war and thousands of ...
During the 17 years of my life, I really get pissed off when I lose at Far Cry 3. It’s a game where a family and friends are taking a trip celebrating the main character, Jason Brody younger brother, Riley getting his pilot's licence. I know it’s just a game and not real life, but I get so intense in the video game it makes me angry. The game starts with Jason his older brother, Grant and brother Riley are skydiving with friends over the Pacific Islands. They reached Rook Island and were taken captive by pirates. Jason and his older brother attempt to escape and Grant is shot and killed. Jason was only able to escape by jumping off a high cliff landing in a river. He is rescued by a man named Dennis and applies tatau on his arm. A tatau is tattoo symbolized the mark of a warrior. As a player you are the character Jason, your goal is to rescue Riley and the rest of the group from the pirates and kill the Pirate Leader Vaas, his boss Hoyt, and as many pirates as you can.
Mythology is constantly being reincarnated into new mediums. It began centuries ago as oral stories being passed from generation to generation and has weathered the test of time to present day. Mythology influences current day literature, movies, and even video games. One video game that heavily draws on mythological themes is The Legend of Zelda created by Japanese video game designer and producer Shingeru Miyamoto. Through Zelda, gamers are exposed to and are able to play through a hero’s journey filled with mythological motifs such as the idea of creation and destruction, the struggle between light versus darkness, the subconscious in relation to reality, and the idea and distortion of time.
Many animals, and almost all mammals, play war games. Cubs, puppies, kittens and the like are known to wrestle, bite, chase and surprise. Through these examples, we see that even the most primitive subconscious aspects of the human psyche are satisfied in mock battle. On a more modern level, Nerf allows for participants to engage in combat without the physical aptitude required by the military, the consequences of death, or the moral significance of taking another life. In fact, I kill the same four people every weekend, and they kill me.
The film 13th Warrior is one which provides a multitude of mythic symbolism from different cultures, including Arabic, Norse and a primitive cannibalistic tribe. By incorporating different societies, the audience gains insight to the similarities and contrasts which exist from different regions of .the world when they see the actions, beliefs and lifestyles highlighted throughout the film. It’s an enjoyable tale of good versus evil with strong references to courage, fame, and fate, much like the myths of Sigurd the Volsung, The Creation, Death and Rebirth of the Universe and Esfandyar, the Prince Who Would Be King.
Yet developers put a lot of effort into them to try and find that one mode that everyone will like. If I was to create my own video game it would have the basis of the game life, where you start as a character that you get to design and choose where and how you begin. As you play the game it would adapt to how you act in different environments and how you treat or respond to the npcs. The game would have very many different paths and depending how you choose to play would decide how you died in the end and what type of legacy you would leave. Would you be a doctor who cured cancer or a special ops solider that saved a lot of peoples lives or be a crazy leader that would try to take over the world. Now I do understand for the creation of this game would take a very long time and funding would be tough to make such a big game to be made, but if I had the resources I would make a game like this where you choose how you want it to be
At the top of our list, standing tall, is the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The player is put back into the role of Geralt, the rugged yet smooth-talking badass witcher from the first two games. He journey's to find someone, a woman, who was kidnapped long ago by an evil group called the Wild Hunt. There are tons of moments in which Geralt will need to make choices that influence the game later on as well. Utilize tons of player-crafted potion, medieval weapons, and your combat skills as you fight your way through the extensive world of the Witcher 3.
The name of the film I am going to review is final destination 3, it is the 3rd in the final destination series. It was released in the cinemas on February 11th 2006 and then released on DVD and video on 25th July 2006.
Video games have come a long way. They have evolved from the simple game of Pong into a complex, multi-platform, multi-genre, multi-billion dollar industry.
In closing, the genre of fantasy is just as important and as thought provoking as any other form of literature we have due to it’s time honored and challenging underlying messages such as: use your unique positive traits for the greater good of the group, power should never be abused and it is important to find yourself in life.
Film Review of Lord of the Rings In the film the “Lord Of The Rings”, there is a great evil called
COMMENTS: The overall premise of the story is good, but the storyline was difficult to follow. Numerous elements slowed the pace of the story or seemed out of place. At some points the dialogue was on the nose and repetitive, while at other points it seemed to depart far from the storyline. The dialogue is overly burdened with catch phrases, clichés, metaphors and similes, some of which are dated and would have no meaning to a vast majority of the audience. The biggest issue is that many of the usages are jammed together and have no real purpose in advancing the story.
Call of duty provides a unique experience of playing as an American, and Soviet soldiers with each of the country’s weapons, vehicles, and fights tactics. Once you are inside the game, it’s kind of hard to stop playing. Many people stay up all night playing online with their group or clans trying to rank up while other usually play solo practicing trying to get better or just playing for fun. It’s a competitive game and sometimes, you can get frustrated a lot because you will get killed, internet connection is bad, or you probably just don’t really know how to play at all. When I first started playing, I wasn’t all that good, but now that I played for so long, it’s easy to just walk around shooting any enemy I see. Call of Duty has many different options to where you choose what you want to wear, what type of gun you would like to use and features to put on your gun, and what maps you would like to play at. It also gives you choices to back out of a game, usually because you are losing or want a different team, or becaus...
the story takes place in the time that the book was written, so the late 90 's since modern things like cars in the story, plus nothing implies it might have taken place a longer time ago.
