Movie Analysis of Titanic Directed by James Cameron
The movie Titanic, directed by James Cameron, was a fictional story based on the true ship, Titanic. Cameron's movie was based on a love story; however, the focus of this paper will be on some of the differences between the two classes aboard the Titanic. This movie clearly portrayed how differently the first and second-class people were treated during the time of the Titanic. This can be related to many other times in American history when groups were segregated as well.
The movie began by showing many second-class citizens surrounding the ship, waiting to board the Titanic. The first class had their cars driven up to the dock, beeping their horns so the second-class people would move out of their way. They were immediately escorted out of their cars, with their many pieces of expensive luggage being carried for them. The first class boarded the ship through the main, top deck, while the second class waited around while they were checked for lice and other diseases. The second class kept their belongings in one sac each and waited until all of the first class were aboard, then entered the ship through the steerage entrance.
The living quarters for the upper class were lavish, with everything from fireplaces to private bathrooms. A first class room was extremely large with access to the decks, and had all the comforts of home. These rooms were located on the top of the ship, each with their own personal ...

I am writing my first entry aboard this incredible vessel today, primarily because I have been spending the last three days exploring the sections open to my fellow third-class passengers and I. What I have seen is extraordinary, especially when first boarding the ship. The halls and staircases of the first class section were like nothing I had ever seen before in my life. They were blanketed in luxury from end to end. The first class passengers I had managed to see wore their best garments boarding the ship and were conversing with each other about their rich lives back home. I believe I even saw Mr. John Jacob Astor, a man I had heard much about for his contributions to the American fur trade. I had heard that he would be aboard for the maiden voyage of ...
On April 30, 1907, an idea was born out of the minds of Bruce Ismay and William James Pirrie to build an unsinkable ship: the Titanic. A company, Harland and Wolff, out of Belfast, Ireland were commissioned to build this miraculous ship (United States). The company made quick work, and within a few days short of five years, the Titanic was then ready to set sail from its location in Belfast to Southampton, England. On April 10, 1912, the Titanic left for Southampton and arrived within the next 24 hours. There were 2,223 passengers consisting of immigrants to millionaires on board preparing to set sail for New York hoping to find their way to a better life (United States). The Titanic gave many people a chance to start a new life in America,
The tragic history of the Titanic, the sinking of the “unsinkable” giant of a ship shocked the entire world and contributed to important shifts in the mass consciousness of the people who lived at that period and assessed the achievements of new technologies and their role. However, one would have been hardly able to predict in 1912 that this tragedy, no matter how significant and meaningful, would leave such a deep imprint on the history of human civilization. The continuing interest in the fate of the great vessel has taken the form of various narrations and given rise to numerous myths enveloping the true history and, in this way, often obscuring the facts related to the tragedy. In recent years, this interest has been emphasized by the dramatic discovery of the wreck and examination of its remains. The recovery of artifacts from the Titanic and the exploration of the site where it had sank stimulated new speculations on different issues of the failure to rescue the Titanic and the role of different factors contributing to the disaster. These issues have been traditionally in the focus of discussions that caused controversies and ambiguous interpretations of various facts. They also often overshadowed other parts of the disaster story that were confirmed by statistical data and revealed the impact of social realities. The social stratification of passengers that reflected the social realities of the period and its class interests determined the chances of survival, with most of those perished in the Titanic disaster having been lower class individuals.

In the interim, a vagabond and craftsman named Jack Dawson and his closest companion Fabrizio De Rossi win second rate class tickets to the ship in an amusement.
Due to the varying contexts of both the book and film, readers gain insight into the values of individuality, conformity, power,
The historical accuracy and depth will be critically viewed in this paper. I will take culture into account as well. Did this film accurately describe how American culture truly was during these decades? The best way to follow something historical is to go in chronological order, so that is exactly what this paper will start with.
For Paper Five I was given the opportunity to develop my own thesis. Over the films watched throughout the quarter, I could choose one or two films and connect them to bigger themes in the world. For example, If I were to do my topic on the Cinderella, I could address how social economic status affects how people are treated within a society, or how love changes one’s life. Beyond developing a larger topic for the films I chose, I provided a formal and analytical analysis for each film.
Parisi, P. (1998). Titanic and the making of James Cameron: the inside story of the three-year adventure that rewrote motion picture history. New York, NY: Newmarket Press.
Before the Titanic, Cameron’s films were very filled with expensive explosions and out of this world situations. His films seemed to cater to the masculine eye. The Titanic was a new era for Cameron films. He once said in an interview that “ though he always tried to infuse love stories with his technology-heavy films, it was only in Titanic where he achieved this balance”(Cameron). Similar to the colorization of black and white films, Titanic recaptures the past, and through digital innovation, it is able to bring the Ship of Dreams back to life offering the audience a visual experience that is not only spectacular but also, more faithful to the real events of the past.
Introduction A significant component of a film is the subjectivity and representation of the characters within the story. Throughout various films, there have been both accurate and inaccurate representations of large groups or individuals in society. Although making up a large population of people, The working class is a part of the capitalist hierarchy that has been implemented throughout history in society and is considered to be on the bottom portion of the hierarchy. For this reason, society has riddled the middle class with stereotypes that the working class are identified alongside, which then transfers into their role through film production. In many cases, the working class is portrayed through these stereotypical characteristics

We got into our lines, behind groups of excited families and happy little old men and women. As the line ascended up the ramp onto this enormous water vessel, pictures were taken of every group of passengers. Smile, laugh and look happy! Riiight. As a matter of fact, I was pretty anxious. I'd never been on a boat like this, and especially not for a whole week.
