Romeo is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he killed Tybalt, he acted too fast, and he buys the poison. The first reason Romeo is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is because he killed Tybalt. After Romeo killed Tybalt Benvolio says, “Tybalt, here slain, whom Romeo’s hand did slay” (3.1.150). In this quote Benvolio talks about how Romeo killed Tybalt. In this quote Juliet goes on a rant about how Romeo just killed himself with poison. If Romeo would have waited like 5 minutes, he would have seen that Juliet wasn't actually dead. And if that happened, Juliet would have never killed herself. In this scene, Romeo even says that she looks alive even in death and that her cheeks and lips are rosy. If he had used his brain, he would have known that dead people can't have rosy cheeks. Some people may argue that Romeo is not the most responsible for Romeo and Juliet's deaths because Friar Lawrence is the whole reason that they got married and also influenced Juliet heavily. However, Romeo is the one who bought the poison. Romeos says, “I pay thy poverty and not thy will” (1.5.76). In this scene, Romeo is buying poison from the apothecary.
