Moon Landing Hoax
John F. Kennedy once said, "No nation which expects to be the leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in this race for space...We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard”. The main motive for this quote was to ensure that the United States wanted to beat out the Soviets in the space race. Ever since the Soviets tried to advance on the moon, the United States wanted to be the first successful nation to accomplish the first ever moon landing. At the time, the tension between the United States and the Soviets was very strong because the Cold War just ended and neither nation wanted to lose to each other in the space race. Just as the United States planned their mission to the moon, the Soviets were the very first nation to ever settle on space. The U.S. as well as President Kennedy were shocked to see the Soviets be the first nation to fly in space. The United States had to come up with a plan in order to beat out the soviets, by becoming the very first nation to ever land on the moon. Overall, it is clear that the United States hoaxed the moon landing in order to beat out the Soviet Union in the space race through observations, evidence from a Hollywood studio, and allowing NASA to pull off the Apollo mission.
Once the United States landed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon, it was clear that the U.S. hoaxed the moon landing due to observations being viewed during the live footage of the moon landing. When watching the United States land on the moon, viewers claim to have watched the flag waving on live television. As known, there is no atmosphere in space or on the moon, so why should the flag be waving? NASA clai...

Apollo 11 landed safely on the moon on July 20, 1969. Neil Armstrong stated that this was, “One small step for man; but one giant leap for mankind. Conspiracy theorists claim that there was no actual moon landing and it was all faked. The reader will conclude that these are merely just theories and that there was in fact a moon landing. Apparently a colossal 25% of Americans believe that the moon landing is a hoax and not fact. Motivation for this large hoax was to beat Russia in the Space Race, and to intimidate them during the Cold War. Sputnik was launched into orbit and people claim that the USA was so behind that they needed to fake the moon landing, one of the most prolific moments in modern history. Claiming that there is no moon landing
The inconsistencies of the moon landing led many to believe that this historical event had never happened. As a result of all this evidence being debugged, Evidence shows that this event indeed happened. Even with the errors made in the obtaining in the photos and evidence. NASA still proves that they went to the moon with logical answers as well as many pieces of evidence and supporting detail. Without the clarification of the actual happenings of the moon landing, there would no longer be a truthful and concise timeline of what really happened.
On May 25, 1961, Congress met in a joint session to hear the American president, John F. Kennedy, address them in a speech he referred to as a second State of the Union. In his speech, the young president geared America for a race that would send men to the moon. Kennedy challenged America to “take longer strides” and to take a “leading role in space achievement, which, in many ways, may hold the key to our future on earth” (Burrows 330-331). America rose to the challenge, and within a decade, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were walking on the moon, becoming the first of the human race to walk on a world besides our own. The giant strides of which Kennedy challenged us soon slowed to a crawl, however, and after a few more missions, America would not go back again, possibly for good. America would soon turn its attention to other earthly issues, and its moon program would become nothing more than a memory. This gives rise to an inevitable question: should humans return to the moon? This question has haunted us for years, continuously rising and then fading away again. In recent months, new discoveries have brought it to the forefront, and with these new discoveries, the answer becomes obvious: humans should once again set their sights for the heavens, and putting a civilian lunar base and colony on the moon should be our next step.
There are various reasons people have come up with to try and prove that the moon landing didn’t happen but they all have logical responses. NASA completed what President Kennedy promised six years after he was assassinated. The fact that all six moon landings happened under Nixon’s administration is how the cookie crumbled. People who believe the moon landing is a hoax is accusing NASA of pulling off something so much more complex than actually making it to the moon. We beat the USSR to the moon, there’s no actual proof to be able to deny
Thousands of conspiracy theories are made surrounding the pictures and videos taken on the moon. Let us examine this photograph of Buzz Aldrin. Notice how the shadows are all parallel to one another? This phenomenon caused by parallel sun rays with no diffusion due to the fact that the Sun is about 93 million miles away from the moon; making the light coming from the Sun virtually parallel. This information is important because during the 1960s replicating this image in a studio is basically impossible. This is because by only using normal studio lighting, the shadows would diverge. In order to replicate this in a studio, numerous white lasers would have to be tightly compacted in place of the Sun. This technology simply did not exist in the 60s. On top of that, lasers were astronomically expensive and were only available in red. This would mean that the cost of the lasers alone would be worth more than that of the actual Apollo mission budget. Another solution you might think would be to edit the photo using computer graphics. Again, this would mean they would secretly have had their hands on technology decades ahead of its time. This alone would prove that replicating the moon landing would have been more expensive than actually having a manned mission to the moon. Another controversial topic would be the photo's lack of stars. Why aren't there any stars in the picture when our
Nevertheless, why would the U.S government wanted to fake the moon landing? What would be the motivation to create such a hoax? . The motivation for such a complicated hoax could be, to a certain point, self-explanatory in view of the current political situation at that time between the two countries. However, the three main possible reasons for the U.S government to fake the Moon landings in 1969 are
My opinion about the moon landings is that they were real. I believe that the US sent a man to the moon and we proved we were better than the Soviet Union.
“It doesn’t help moon conspiracy theorist that not one person from the Apollo era’s 35,000 NASA employees or 200,000 contractors has ever stepped forward with “whistle-blowing “ insider testimony or ”smoking-gun” memos about a staged event.” (Villard) According to Ray Villard “NASA’s own actions are inconsistent without anyone would attempt to pull off a moon hoax.” (Villard) Let the debunking begin! Lets address the “Flapping” American flag first. Conspiracy theorists claim that the moon landing footage was filmed on a closed set because the movement of the flag suggests there is wind present and since the moon is in space there cannot be wind therefore it was hoaxed. According to NASA the flag was constructed specifically for the moons surface. A top wire runs through the fabric along top allowing it to stand erect like a wind swept flag on earth. The astronauts simply cause the flapping themselves by struggling to plant the flagpole into the ground and twisting it around. (Fuller) Next up, The “C” rock. A rock is seen in photographs and it appears to have the letter “C” “written or stamped on it, this gives off the impression that most of the rocks in the pictures from the moon landing are simply props.”(Fuller) scientists and representatives from NASA claim the “C” is just a photographic glitch–a stray hair that found its way into the developing process.” (Fuller) Considering the changing shadows, Villard puts it very well that “these claims prove only one thing–the conspiracy theorists know less about photography than a high school freshman joining the camera club. All Apollo images are absolutely accurate and consistent with the reality of a single, really bright light source–the Sun.” (Villard) When examining the conspiracy theory that duplicate backgrounds were used in the filming of the Apollo 11 moon landing, it is clear that the conspiracy
NASA says that they were the 1st ones on the moon, according to National Graphics news they found 8 moon landing hoax myths.
“That’s one small step for man, a giant leap for mankind.” An estimated 530,000,000 people watched Neil Armstrong live on television say those exact words in July of 1969. The Apollo-11 moon landing was one of America’s greatest achievements. Or was it? Five percent of the population of the United States does not believe the astronauts actually made it to the Moon, instead they believe that it was all filmed like a movie. Many conspiracy theorists have come up with numerous explanations as to why America did not make it to the moon. For example, some of the photos that were taken by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin looked suspicious or out of place. Other conspiracy questions asked are how come the astronauts did not come back from space with
The most controversial moon landing was Apollo 11. This is the mission people have found the most “flaws” in. One problem people found in the photos is that you can’t see the stars in the background, so it must be fake. In reality, the moon’s surface reflects sunlight so the stars would have been drowned out and very hard to see. Another issue people seem to have with the Apollo 11 images is that the footprints made by the astronauts seem too perfect. The footprints seem this way because lunar dust is much finer than sand and other Earth substances making the footprints very detailed. A major bug people found was that no cameras are seen
...tings. Personally, I disagree with both of these opposing views because there is much more evidence proving the existence of alien life is possible. Although UFO sightings can be faked not all are hoaxes. Take for example this New Year’s many Californians reported seeing lights in the sky and were not explained. These lights were spotted over Los Angeles, San Francisco and southern California by hundreds of civilians. There is no reasonable explanation as to how someone can fake such a widespread UFO sighting. Also, the Fermi paradox is false; celestial beings have already walked the earth left material evidence. Evidence of Ancient Astronauts are presented in hieroglyphics created by Aztecs, Egyptians, and Mayans. Extraterrestrial life is alive, there is evidence to suggest that organisms can live out in the depths of space, they should be proven as being existent.
The Roswell incident is one of the most publicized and well-known accounts of a possible UFO crash in the world. Perhaps the greatest evidence that a UFO did indeed crash near Roswell, is the wide scale military cover up that took place after the crash. This along with numerous eyewitness accounts of the crash site, prove that what ever happened in the summer of 1947, was certainly not a normal occurrence.
In the times article “ Man Takes First Steps on the Moon: Special Edition”, the leaders of the world are chiming in congratulating America on the moon landing. They are also describing the mesmeric scene of the moon landing in their own newsletters. Each article, although written in different perspectives of each country, uses dramatic diction to describe Armstrong’s “ dramatic descent” onto the mysterious lunar soil in front of them(Paragraph 3). They use this language because the lunar landing is a new experience the world has the opportunity to witness, and they are ecstatic. The readers of the Times will see the different countries perspectives on the lunar landing this will include the countries, London, Moscow, and Cuban radio.
