The Dark Ages is a proper label for the Middle Ages because of violence, plague, and high taxes. The Middle Ages was a time of turning events such as military invasions, migration, and bubonic plague. The Bubonic plague led to the migration of people to new lands to try an escape from the plague. Invasions from outside groups cause violence and terror. Violence caused wars in the time of the dark ages because it consumed the people and the villages. Violence and war affected people and hurt them by towns being destroyed and burnt. “They burned the churches and then departed with a crowd of captives. “Invasions from Muslims, Mongols, Vikings, and other tribal groups were common. War between lords is also common.
